  • DON'T DO EVERYTHING YOU SEE ON THE INTERNET! MAKE YOURSELF A CROSS-CUT SLED OR USE THE BANDSAW! I was rushing and eager to make these that I ignored some basic safety rules. Thankfully I didn't lose any fingers. The planer kickback was one warning that I should have paid better attention to. With the size of what I am cutting here, I could have easily used the bandsaw and been much safer.
Turns out it's not that difficult to make a batch of cigar holders! Here I used some scrap walnut and red oak to put together 12 cigar holders in only a few hour's time.
    A great small gift idea.

Thanks for the honesty Shane! I updated my description in hopes of warning folks not to ignore some basic safety rules like I was doing. What do you think of the description now? I hope it helps warn people that I have all of my fingers from some weird kind of luck.

Sometimes you look back at something you did a few months ago and say "What was I thinking?!"
Next time i'm using the bandsaw. Unless I build a crosscut sled.. But still will probably just use the bansaw.

Sorry, I can't read your comment. Your grammar is poor.
Seriously though. It was my first day in a workshop. Description was updated to suggest this isn't the safest way to do things
