Here is my first update on my experience with the Samsung Galaxy View 18.4 android tablet. Enjoy!

Finally someone who shows a UA-cam video review and actually shows a UA-cam video thank you.
The most thorough review I've seen so far. I'm planning on buying this but I know when I do, they're gonna come out with the newer model. I also have an ipad pro 12.9 and that's a totally different category in my opinion. That's pretty much the best work tablet out there, along with those who are artists its amazing.
Excellent work as always Ed. I've had mine for a couple of weeks from AT&T and I can't put it down! I transport it in a laptop bag occasionally to work. There's nothing like watching live TV through the Xfinitywifi TV app. I have a couple of coworkers who ordered on directly from Samsung or Amazon. I definitely wouldn't recommend using this during a public transportation commute! Quickest way to get hit on the coconut and robbed:-)! Just about everyone in my household has monopolized it in some way. I like Samsung's direction with this product and looking forward to seeing what the next generation will bring.
If you update the UA-cam app, it will play in 1080p another reviewer said. Great overview!!!

Hello, it is now getting quite old.... do you know what is the equivalent of a portable big screen, you think?

Has this tablet receives any OS or security updates, since it launched?
I like it. It makes sense. I'm tired of squinting at little tablets. Of course I have smaller tablets and phones for on the go, but when I'm home relaxing .. on the patio, etc. This is perfect. I will get one. I was hoping Samsung would make some upgrades to it or reduce the now $600 price. ... With an upgrade or two, a pencil and note/ drawing page .... This would be grand.
I hope they make a bigger one. I have been delaying getting a Smart TV because I love my tablet so much. With a bigger screen I'd have the best of both worlds. Maybe the next one will have better specifications. Some movies/TV shows rented or bought will only play SD on a tablet or PC. I hope this Tablet/TV will play them in HD or higher.

If I look at the new home screen - is it possible to change the apps are to delete this home screen?
I would prefer a standard android home homescreen!
what about the battery, it is just 5700 ma/h right?
I do have a Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2. and this has the 7800 ma/h... the battery lives like eight or nine hours!

Yes you can use a regular home screen for android.
can you tell me how to take a screenshot on the galaxyview please
does anyone know how to screenshot with it? I keep trying the power and home screen press like Samsung says it doesn't work. I wish they had just put a button on for it like the 10.5 note

Hi - This Galaxy View has a USB port. What can this port be used for... to charge the device... data transfer... mouse and keyboard...? Please help, I cant find any info about the USB port in owners manual and so far nothing here in youtube. I am afraid to plug in the USB cord I use on my Galaxy Pro to transfer files from PC on the view. No where does it say what the USB port is on the device for.
I would really like a mouse, do they make bluetooth 'mice' lol that dosnt have that USB attachment... All the mouses at Best Buy have full size USB bluetooth thingies.

Got it today 32gb verison at Best buy for $360
I want a used one when price comes down.
I like it, but it can't travel like my Dell XPS 18.
Had to make payments through AT&T, WORTH EVERY PENNY!

LED screens overheat all the time
for $600 it should have been 4k and a way bigger battery.. 5700 MaH battery is just a joke since my 10 inch tablet has a bigger battery ..
you're 10 inch tablet may have a bigger battery but what resolution is that tablet probably way higher than 1080p which drains the battery having a 1080p screen saves battery life if they were to put a bigger battery it would weigh more and probably knock off the balance plus having big batteries in a device such as that can lead to problems like overheating and such things you need to take in consideration when designing such a device battery manufacturers have a set size of batteries that have been tested over a long time in different situations making a custom battery just designed for this device can be risky.
it's perfect for movies and messing around but the screen is pretty awful in my opinion
18 inch tablet - great for me viewing pdfs/reading/viewing/showing photos.
