  • I bought this 1 owner 2000 Honda CBR929rr a few weeks ago and the bike originally had a full system aftermarket exhaust but I didn't want to pay extra money for it so i asked the owner if he would sell it to me cheaper with the stock exhaust and he agreed.... He told me he had a local Honda dealership install the stock exhaust but honestly he could have been blowing smoke up my ass. Anyways the bike had a really big dead spot starting at 5,000 RPM's up until 8-9,000 and it would start to pull hard again, i suspected something wasn't right with the exhaust because it ran perfect with the other full system and that's when i found the cables on backwards

    This video was unbelievably helpful, no other video like it online. I just bought a 954 and I’m going to check and see if the servo is functioning. My 929 has a full exhaust servo delete and I assume a servo buddy somewhere as it’s not throwing any codes. I’ve heard that when the servo motors go bad you can hear a clicking noise at idle or revving?

    Fixed the valve.thx.But new problem pops up. Riding in second gear when puling full throtle at cca 5K rpm bike snatches, twitches....only second gear, and when riding hard. Gear box problems? Forks, dogs....cant imagine the cost that will be :(:(
    What do you think?

    I am about to trade in my '97 RC36II (VFR or Interceptor depending on the location) for a '01 SC44...it has only 2994 km on the clocks (yes it is not a mistake...2994 km...May 2019) and looks like the day it was produced. It still has the original blinkers as well as the other stuff from factory...
    I was going to buy a RC51 (sp1) but then I came across this yellow (maybe I'll just buy a set of red chinese fairings...) miracle.

    I’ve got the same bike as the one in the video and as long as I’m riding it twisting on the throttle it runs amazing but as soon as I come to a stop light or try to let it just idle it stalls out been trying to figure it out now for a while but I’ve searched everywhere’s and can’t come up with a solution any help is greatly appreciated

    • @MasonGeorgeMotorcycles
      @MasonGeorgeMotorcycles  6 років тому +1

      Josh Ford I would start with the basics like trying to adjust the idle if that doesn’t work I would look into possibly spark plugs or the fuel injectors assuming that your gas is good. Good luck and if you got anymore questions I’ll do my best to help ya!

    • @joshford6121
      @joshford6121 6 років тому

      mason george customs I have changed the plugs and tried to adjust the idle but didn’t have be luck so I’ll give the injectors a check and I pull d the tank the other day and noticed a cable was just laying there it’s the shortest cable on the servo will that cause any problems with the idle

    • @MasonGeorgeMotorcycles
      @MasonGeorgeMotorcycles  6 років тому +1

      Josh Ford possibly, how many miles are on the bike? And have you ever adjusted the valves?

    • @joshford6121
      @joshford6121 6 років тому +1

      mason george customs 26000 and I’ve never had them adjusted I got the bike when it had 24000 on it

    • @MasonGeorgeMotorcycles
      @MasonGeorgeMotorcycles  6 років тому +1

      Josh Ford well if the servo or injectors don’t fix it I would look at the valves next I believe the service intervals are every 16,000 on that bike... that being said I’ve had two of the 929’s and three of the 954s never had any valve issues even with high miles. If you haven’t already I highly recommend getting a factory service manual they will show you how to do pretty much anything on the bike.

    So will I get more power if I delete the butterflies? (954)

    • @MasonGeorgeMotorcycles
      @MasonGeorgeMotorcycles  3 роки тому +1

      No in fact you’ll actually lose a little bit of power. The butterfly basically his tune in the exhaust for whatever RPM that you’re at

    • @riderzinc
      @riderzinc 3 роки тому +3

      You will lose low/mid range power, With a remap you will gain some of it back and more power in higher rpm. Full exhaust system would be the way to go. You can gain up to 10hp up top, saves 3-4kg in weight and don't have to worry about the htev servo going wrong in future

    • @damikedaevil4582
      @damikedaevil4582 3 роки тому

      @@damikedaevil4582 Depends if it's a full exhaust system, I swapped from the stock system to a full akrapovic, flapper delete, k&n filter, I lost some power below 4k revs but gained 9bhp peak and had a much better power curve
