Clarification: The True HD part was just me trying to lead people to the greatest quality of Amerika on youtube, with no mtv shit in the corners whatsoever. 852x480 is the maximum resolution for any Rammstein video at the moment, as they have only come out on DVD. The fact that this video didn't update to 480 like the Mein Teil did, still bugs me.
How brilliant... this song is the coolest critique ever.
And I'm glad that my town appeared in this video, wow !

@simiwinterbreeze1 "This is not a love song!" is part of the original German Lyrics, I'm positive that was meant to get the message across to English speakers that they were being sarcastic and insulting us.

@steyraug96 That is a very spot on description of the current status of the U.S. We tend to occupy ourselves with base pleasures nowadays. You just gave a brilliant critique of John Stuart Mill's utilitarianism. lol For utilitarianism to work people have to be able to identify higher pleasures from lower ones, and it looks like America is proving that to be wrong. I am a big Classical music fan, but I would never just dismiss modern music.

Here's the deal people. Rammstein isn't criticizing random aspects of the U.S. They are criticizing what America IS. The United States is concerned with nothing but resources. The human spirit is the casualty of American consumerism and materialism. This is not Germany vs. America in a race for more stuff. This is the human spirit vs. debauchery. I love to sing this song as a karoake song in some mostly mexican-american bars in Houston, Texas . I particularly like the part of the song where the lead singer of this song sings "Weiss noch nicht dass er tanzen muss" at 1:32 into the song. For some reason, the sound of the Deutsch language really unnerves many of the patrons at this Houston bar.
It's was an excellent musical pun of the very fake moon landing(s) down to the phtographic reticules. Thak you for the post.

I'm not critisising americans, but what its basically saying is their culture and polotics dominate the whole world and has influence over practically every nation. most people are giving up on their own culture and traditions, and america may seem like a perfect place but most things they have are at other nations expence. most foreign people choose english as a second language, they dont realise it but america has a massive impact on the whole of the world.

I'm American by birth and by culture, but to be honest, this song makes me laugh at myself. Besides, this is just a song stating an opinion and view. Music was created for this type of expression.
Honestly people can think whatever they want to. One thing that is evident is the fact that we were all created equal by God and no matter what anyone says or does I am proud of my country (USA). Instead of the mindless rabble and insults (from all sides) we need to find how we can improve our countries instead of trashing them. God did make us all equal (for those who believe).

that's a good observation and you're right, but it didn't use to be that way. I'm trying to say that accumulating stuff didn't use to be the end goal. Wealth used to be a tool used to achieve other objectives, but it is now the end product unfortunately.
Americans love controversy like the video, to me it does not offend me i actually like the song alot. At the end of the day, i, i myself am going to make my country better, so is my nieghbor and my nieghbors nieghbor thats why i love the US just to add to the fire im latino.

this video is about worldwide consumerism, nothing more. the fact that such a thing is American-based is a direct result of post World War 2 events. the US maintained more than 50% of the worlds production, and produced more than twice as much oil at the entire world. and that was the "boom" age. so naturally that is what spread.
