I live in a rural area in the south of France . My neighbor has 25 bee hives a couple of fields away . And all summer the bees come to drink in my small fish pond . I’ve sat there with thousands of bees watching . Never been stung
That’s wonderful! A real testament that if you leave them alone, they will you too....how sweet, kind and understanding of you to understand not to be afraid. Blessings from Michigan...🥰
Really enjoy your removal videos but I would like to see more like this as well. Hive inspections, bee care, honey removal, etc. I just find bee keeping fascinating.
Little do those bees know that they stumbled into the best place possible to have their new home, to have a new home. WOOT Honey bees! Have a good one JP.
The word is spreading from wild colony to wild colony: Seek out the Beeman, and peace and care and well-being will follow, for he is the caretaker of our kind~
I love that you’re so unafraid of bees.. that you hold some comb right next to your face. Bees must love you too because you’re so careful with their hives and everything.
That’s a neat explanation. Always intriguing. The in-depth explanation is so appreciated by those of us that don’t have a (bee degree). Keep up the good work and great videos. U BEE THE BEST!!! From am old timer
Doesn’t Horchoff just dump bees out & they fly into his equipment, counting those as swarm catches? You have to keep an eye on him Dirt, he’s slick like that! 😄👍🐝
Wonderful! A volunteer colony, and you got a laying queen (I've heard of virgin swarms but that just seems wrong!). Hope they do well for you. Beautiful queen - lets see how she does. Congrats! Free bees!
What a nice surprise for you, coming home to a new box of bees. Sorry your yard man was scared. I'll wish you well with your new volunteers. Thanks. :)
Gosh I love bees so much ❤️🐝… I would keep bees in a heartbeat. They are such beautiful creatures that are so so important to this planet. Unfortunately I am highly allergic... one accidental sting and I would have to use my epi-pen and go to the hospital. All my love and respect to you for all you do.❤️❤️❤️
Yes I was happy to see your bees come to you even when you are not at home. I know you have love for those ladies you care for and I so like you videos about those busy bees. Joan
JP, your videos are always so informative. I love that you always want to educate others about bees. You give so much to the community of beekeeping. Thanks so much for sharing. Love and blessings.
That 'Smell' of a healthy hive, is of fresh sweet bread coming out of Grandma's oven! You can tell quickly the hive's health as wellif that scent is present.
I am soooooooo horrified of things that sting ... but I'm not afraid bbn of spiders or snakes ... one thing I can say is that through watching "JP the Beeman" is that in my head, I'd love to go to a hive, pick up those bees, just be all interactive ... but in reality, I'd lose my $#¡+, start flailing, and have the entire hive covering my crazy corpse ... yep, corpse ... my fear would kill me before the stings could ... I admire your presence, your videos, your love of the bees ... and I wish I wasnt both allergic and afraid! I get to enjoy these videos, though, and no matter how many I watch, I never get tired of seeing when they march! ☺️
I would like to take you fishing. I’ll bet you could get those fish to jump right into the boat before I even got to put my line in the water. I really appreciate the videos. Please keep making them when you are able.
Wow that was nice the bees set themselves up in your hive kind of cool . I think with your honesty about your misadventures in bee keeping is really helpful for those bee keepers just getting into bee keeping. As well you did educate us all as well . Peace JP .
Your videos are great! Maybe add a bit more nerdy if you will, information/anatomy about bee's in your video please :) also have you thought about live streaming a hive removal? Anywho keep up the great content man #savethebees
As always, your videos are as fun to watch as they are informative. That's pretty cool that the bees come to you; move in and set up shop. Great videos!
Yeap, you are the Bee Whisper, now you don't have to go to them they'll come to you. Great to see this new video hadn't seen one for a couple of weeks from you, hope business is booming for the cause of the absence. Keep up the great work and God Bless.

Not sure if you will see this but I have questions: 1) Ever show up to a job and approach the hive and find out its not actually honeybees but something nasty like hornets or wasps and the customer was mistaken? 2) Have you encountered any Africanized Bees? I know they are a problem where I used to live in Florida and I understand that you can’t tell the difference by appearance alone? Thanks JP for the amazing videos. I am terrified of bees and wasps but watching your videos is helping me overcome my fears.
JPthebeeman thank you for answering and for doing such a huge part to save our bees and inspiring others to save them as well. Did you run like hell once you saw they were yellowjackets like I would have? I would have had a heart attack if a swarm of those things started chasing me ⚰️ We have a lot of bald faced hornets where I live, a neighbor had a huge hive on the corner of her house about 15 ft from where my other neighbors kids play. We threatened to sue her if we were stung if she didn’t remove it, her excuse was that its helping the environment like your bees do 🤦🏼♀️ It’s a miracle nobody got attacked.
I can't believe how much you know about bees!! How many eggs will the queen lay at one time or does she just continually lay eggs her whole life? Thanks for what you do JP!
A good queen can potentially lay up to 2,000 eggs a day if enough cells are available. They usually do their best work in their second year. Four years is about what you can expect out of a good queen.
@@JPthebeeman what do you mean when you say the queen is Italian looking? And as others are saying please show us your bee yard. My third request is to please explain some more about why bees swarm, maybe a little bee psychology behind the event? I have never been afraid of bees in my vegetable garden. Yellow jackets can send me on the run every time.
IronFromIce Y I have been having some issues at my bee yard so most of the colonies I have been removing have been going to my buddy Schawee who keeps them in Gonzales, Louisiana about 45-50 minutes from where I live. I know what you mean about the fragrance around beehives, because as a gardener I have made lots of fresh compost in the past, and as it begins to cook it gives off a lovely fragrance.
Got ticks in my yard {first time in years and 4 on me) and had to spray Black Flag so I could mow my lawn. I get the bees that live the ground - not happy if I wiped them out .
Great video JP I just removed a hive from a property that I purchase, It was huge six soffit spaces worth. Took me 2 days to complete the removal it was 2 different colonies gave one to a friend and kept the bigger colony to myself but unlike your bees these were aggressive but I guess I would be too if someone came and tore my house down lol.
Got my first sting from my late dad's hive last week. He's had bees for the last 18 years and I've done many a hive check with him totally suitless with no problem. Dad passed away in January and last week my partner and I were standing near the hive at night talking about dad and watching a few stragglers trying to make it home. One landed on my partner and AS I AM TELLING HIM not to swat or flick them off he flings one right into my forehead and it gets me on the thinnest skin of my left temple. My whole eye socket swole up! lol!
