Good luck with that now I seen a 2nd gen 24v sell for 57000. I have 2 2nd gens one 12v and one 24v. I paid $3000 for my 12v and $1500 for my 24v. I can remember back when nobody wanted a diesel. U could pick up a nice 2nd gen with low miles for cheap
@@bigmurph1447 honestly, and that's insane for a 24v, those aren't even the ones most people want unless they want to mess with the fuel system. I'm in the Houston area, and I've seen 12v cummins going for 30k easy from dedicated diesel dealerships

the valve cover is black with silver lettering and stripes so it's a 2000-2002 model. 98-99 had a cream (sometimes silver) with red lettering and stripes
These shows literally made me a gear head. I remember getting up on saturday mornings at like 8-9yrs old watching trucks and extreme 4x4

Same. I got back to shade tree mechanic.
Yepp hit the nail on the head
Torque wrench. One of those tools tire shops don't use when refitting your wheels.
Yup especially Wal-Mart auto shop always double check the lugs asap. My front passenger wheel became loose and started wobbling 4 days later.

@Jimmy Jones & the Kool-Aide Crew discount tire is pretty good about torquing but yeah if you want something done right, do it yourself.
Theres a local shop i go to (Myson's) and they torque the lug nuts. Thats one reason i'm loyal to them lol.
Ha! Catalytic converter - not required
Love that color! Metallic patriot blue
It is a sharp looking color.
Takes me back! Just look at that computer lol windows 95 haha
Gale Banks is a National Treasure. Always after more power ALONG WITH efficiency.
I wonder where this 2nd gen is today.
Probably rusted away somewhere
Clutus's backyard
Hummers selling points are portal axles, diesel engine, tire inflation system just to name a few and definitely more back seat leg room
Love you guys from africa kenya😏
My God where did the time go? I saw this in 1998???
I've never seen a turbo come off of the turbine housing that easy if it's actually been on there for a while and running

Left the rags in the manifold😅
How much for this 180+ hp diesel kit?
It was a 108 HP gain
I wish I could find a 2nd gen cummins in good shape for a fair price. Better yet, I wish I was born in the 80s 😭
