Hi Maddie, enjoyed your shelling adventure. Screaming at shells on the beach is a great pass time those skoolies might learn something😂nothing wrong with communication with shells, it’s when they answer back you have a problem 😂😂😂 Loved the cowries, the tent shell and one of your favourites the large limpet that had hobbit vibes. Lovely display at the end with the vegetation as a back drop. Thank you. ❤xxxxx
G'day Alison 👋🏻💖 Haha, I think those school kids are learning plenty without me next to them 😉 this beach must be a popular place their beach visits; a few classes go a few times a year that I've noticed 😲 and I'm always like "dang, why didn't my school do that?" Anyways 😂 Ohhh the biggest limpet and the tent shells were the favourites this time! And gosh, thank you for you kind words; truthfully I wished that the shell displayed turned out a little better, but I struggled with it somehow 😅 the green backdrop saved the day though! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Greetings from Tennessee, Maddie! Again such fun going along with you gathering shells. When you find a shell, I am looking at the other shells in the rack pile and see so many I want to pick up and see what they are. 🙂 I've always love the limpets because they are kinda different from other shells. Venus shells are also neat as there are so many varieties . Our Venus shells are fun to collect, too. Thank for another fine adventure collecting shells!! Have a great day!
G'day Melissa 👋🏻💖 Hello to you in Tennessee! Oh yes, there is sometimes just heaps of shells, grit, and debris on those wracklines; sometimes so much that I wonder where is all comes from 😂! Oh wow, the limpets and venus shells stand out to you; you're right, there is an incredible amount of variety within their shell families. What kinds of venus shells do you collect? Thank you so much for watching 🥰 I hope you have a wonderful day too!
❤ “I don’t want people looking at me like I’m a freak” hahaha Maddie you are something else! Don’t mind her kiddos she is just squatting down talking to shells…yep, totally normal, moving on. 🤣 Loved the wentletraps. That lace coral looks so nice (purple on my screen). Limpets and snakehead are awesome! Happy Shelling Always!
G'day Roxann 👋🏻🏖️ Haha, I usually don't mind if people who me or think I'm weird 😅 I'm mostly in my own little world while out shelling! I think most people know when you're presenting to the camera these days; vloggers and UA-camrs are more present on society now than maybe 10 years ago 🤔 so they just accept it 😉 As for the shells, there were some interesting ones this time with the limpets and Wentletraps 🤩 I'm glad you liked the corals and cowries too; they're some of my favourites to collect! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Such a pretty colorful display! ❤ I loved the variety of limpets. 🗻🗻🗻 And that little precious wentletrap. So cute! I’m very partial to the mulberry whelk. I love the texture on them. My favorite today was the red toothed top shell. Great minis today Maddie! By the way, those high school kids could learn a lot from you!!! 🥰🥰🥰
G'day Pam 👋🏻💖 Phew, in glad that display worked out for this adventure: it wasn't so confident about it 😂 that limpet in particular was a really nice centerpiece! Oh wow, and the Wentletrap and Mulberry Whelk stood out; I really need to remind myself to show them more...I'm constantly picking them out of the drainage holes in my water shoes, so I find my patience for them is quite short 😂 My goodness, the favourite is the little Red Toothed Top Snail??!! I wasn't expecting that!! It's nice to see a less common shell, isn't it! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G'day Maddie! Greetings from land-locked Austria. There seemed to be a very wide variety of shells this trip. A shout out to the mulberry whelk, I really like the contrast between black and white. I always love the wentletraps and you found a nice selection today. The music cone was very pretty. I also found the obelisk creeper quite interesting and the patterns on the embossed venus shells were lovely. I know the variegated limpets are pretty common for you, but their coloration is often glorious. Everything else was great, too. You did a great job of finding so many different shells on what you found to be a "slow" shelling day. Thanks so much for filming!
G'day Jan 👋🏻💖 Oh wow, the Mulberry Whelk stood out to you?? I sometimes feel back about not showing them more, but I guess I'm always a bit tired of seeing them...mostly because they get stuck in the draining holes of my water shoes that I wear 😂 I'm forever picking them out! Wow, when you say it like that; there really was a lot of fun shells on this slow day... I think the wentletraps really saved the day for me, but those limpets turned into a bigger surprise than I realised! As always Jan, thank you so much for watching 🥰
Good afternoon, Maddie The cone shells, the cowries, the limpits, the wenteltraps so little and lovely, the handsome top shell is lovely as well.Do the snake-head cowries have issues with the sand like the Arabian cowries? The tent snail, the bloched nerite was very nice, the embossed venus has great color zigzags, the mini sand dollars. The stripped periwinkle, the mulberry whelke was nice to see. Thank you for a wonderful shelling adventure. I always enjoy your videos. There is always something that surprises me. Even if I have seen them before. I hope you have a marvelous day Maddie.
G'day Toni 👋🏻💖 Ahhh I thought this was a slower day, but when you have them all typed out like that; there really was a lot of different things to find! I'm so glad that you enjoyed the variety. As for your question about cowries in the sand: I have heard conflicting reports about that. One very knowledgeable lady once told me that cowries can get trapped in loose sand without a escape; doomed to suffocate. My friend Mr Sheller once said that he saw an small army of snake-head cowries emerge from loose sand as the tides changes. In the end, I think it depends on the type of cowrie is it, how loose the sand is, and the overall conditions around them. But I do know this; only two species of cowries live on the mudflats, and the other 98% of species live in the reef, rock pools, and on sponges 😂 so they don't do too well on the sand! Awww I'm glad the adventures have little surprises for you, Toni! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G'day Jeff 👋🏻☕ It was nice to go back to the beach and see the minis! Less cowries that I'd have liked (😂) but an awesome variety nonetheless! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G'day Di 👋🏻🏖️❤️ Oh wow, that Mulberry Whelk stood out this time 😲 I really should try to collect more of them! I'm glad you liked the lovely little Wentletraps and well ☺️ Thanks for watching 🥰
G'day Brian 👋🏻🏖️ That limpet was a crazy one with such a yellow "eye" in the center! I'm glad you liked the lace coral and Cowries too, they're always fun to find! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Hey Maddie! Just discovered your channel and so stoked, I've recently become a really keen sheller down the far south coast of NSW, especially for micros! I get super excited about anything under a centimetre haha. I'm visiting Brisbane and the Sunny Coast at the end of the month and would love to collect some little tropical species, any recommendations on spots to visit? Thanks for the great vids!
G'day Rachie 👋🏻🐚 Oh wow, hello to you in southern NSW 😲 if you were in northern NSW, I think you'd find a lot of shells similar to what I find! Welcome to Queensland at the end of the month 🤩 I can't really recommend any places around Brisbane for shelling... I've heard okay things about Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast, but I've never been there myself. For the Sunshine Coast, your best option for minis are Point Cartwright Beach, and Alexandra Headland Bluff next to Mooloolaba. Keep in mind that the mini shells like this will only wash up half the time 🤔 it depends on the types or tides. I wish you lots of luck for finding the micros, and thanks for watching 🥰
G'day Aussie Dirt Digger 👋🏻🪙💖 Hehe, plenty of limpets but between you and me; I had hoped for a few more cowries 😂 Thank you so much for coming along on another shelling adventure 🥰
High Maddie 👋 Another very interesting adventure in Queensland 🤩 Nice piece that Chama pacifica, unexpected Tenguella marginal, have find beautiful samples in Seychelles, Beautiful Conus musicus and C. coronatus , You got very cute trio of Epitoniums ❤Then you got a troupe of new goodies ❤ that's the beauty of Queensland 🤩 i relate to Astele scitula, Eurytrochus strangei, Herpetopoma rubrum, Cleotrivia globosa, Monfortula rugosa, Bembicium nanum thought not the first time and Diodora ticaonica, and the other Diodora looks like D. ruppelii so much 🤔?? Not sure of it. You will tell me if you fixed it , thank you so much for this beauties 🤩 as usual not deceiving my expectations. Bravo Maddie 👏👏👏❤️❤❤❤❤ bye Francesco
G'day Francesco 👋🏻🏖️ Oh my goodness, thank you so much for all of your kind words and comments 🤩 it's lovely to be able to chat about shells like this! I'm very sorry that it's taken me so long to reply!! I think you've solved a mystery for me 😲 I also think the keyhole limpet looks like Diodora ruppelii; it isn't in any of my usual places to check for shell matches...how did you find it! You're incredible 😲! I unfortunately can't fix the names on-screen in a video that I've published (I gotta get everything correct the first time 😅) but I'll know for next time now 😉 Thank you for this! As for the other shells 🐚 I didn't realize that Tenguella marginalba was also present on Seychelles...are they all over the rock pools there too? They get stuck in my water shoes all the time; I need to check for live ones and thrown them back in the water 🤣!! I love the Epitoniums from Queensland; we get such a variety here, especially at Hervey Bay...though, I think maybe I'd find just as many in the mangroves further north...but then I might also find crocodiles 😭 no thanks! Ahh, and the various top shells, limpets, and trivia shell stood out to you as well; they are all wonderful finds from this beach 🏖️ As always, thank you so much for watching these adventures 🥰
G'day Jan 👋🏻🏖️💖 Out favourites align 🤩!!! It's not often that I'll find a bivlave with such crisp and clear patterns like that; it almost looks like a tiny artist drew them on the shell!! Those molluscs are so talented 😂 Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Hey Maddie! The embossed Venus Clam was my favourite too! And I did love the little commercial Scallop as well, was it an albino? Hank you so much for shelling for us❣️ And yes, we do watch to the end😂
G'day Mary 👋🏻🐚 Yesss out favorites align!! The Embossed Venus is a really cool one to see how; I don't get them too often! Hmm, as for you question about the commercial scallop, I don't think it's an albino 🤔 I think some of them are just white (though the majority of the large one I see up in Hervey Bay are more colourful). Noooo you watched to the end 😂 and saw me botch the ending a little. Ahh, thank you for watching to the end, and thanks for coming along on another shelling adventure 🥰
G'day Bonnie Julien 👋🏻💖 I'm glad you liked them 😲 I wasn't sure if they would be as impressive as other visits...but that might be because I didn't find so many cowries, and I'm pretty biased towards them 😅😂 Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G'day Pam 👋🏻🏖️ Ohhh your favorites are the limpets 😲 well, I certainly managed to show some nice ones this time! The T-Rex eye on the Common Variegated Limpet was really unexpectedly cool? Thank you so much for watching 🥰
