Hi, I appreciate your videos on the rear wheel removal and installation. I recently swapped the rear sprocket, and it was a great help. One thing I did was zip tie the rear caliper in place so when i pulled out the axle it was still lined up with the swingarm axle hole. This made it easier to reinstall without sort of needing a third hand to hold it and line it up.
Yet another great video Terry! I'm going to look into getting this done on my Thruxton R wheels. I love the look of spokes but hate dealing with tubes. They did a beautiful job!!! That's such a retro classic looking bike! It's like going back in time 40 years. Very nice. 🙌👏🤙👌🖖✌👍👋🙂
It would be a great addition to the Thruxton and it has added to my level of enjoyment on this bike. I think your Thruxton has a lot more poke mind! This CB is a very laid back beast.
They are Gary, bog standard. The Bridgestone tyre selector tool recommends them for the bike and Bridgestone confirmed it was OK to use these with the inner tube too.
How does shipping to Bart Factory looks like after Brexit? I am guessing there shouldn't be any taxes or tariffs... How much was the total for this mod (shipping included)?
Shipping was €60 in total. That is for pickup and return so not too bad. I am based in Ireland so no Brexit issues. UK buyers of the service would need to check with BartFactory for issues. If you were sending from the UK you need 12 copies of the customs declarations etc. Not sure I would bother from the UK to be honest. Put a good few miles on them now, no problems at all.
Can you imagine the centrifugal force trying to throw off that sticky tape....at 70mph. I did consider a conversion once.....just for the reliability..but after talking to lots of owners.....punchers seem to be a none event. Just in case I carry a small bottle of tube type slime....I also carry 5 Co2 cartridges and a nice small 12 volt pump.
It is not sticky tape Nick, it is a professionally vulcanised solution from a company with a very good reputation in Italy. Punctures, I've had none for years then six in just a few, totally random I'll agree. I saw the conversion and thought I just wanted to give it a go. It has worked well and retains its pressure like any other tyre.
@@terenceokeeffesmotorcyclestuff I was going to do this conversation with the usual 3m tape method has a lot to be desired.....tubes are a pain....but I love my spoked wheels. So after finding out that getting a flat is if your wheels have quality tubes and tyres I decided just to carry tube slime.....if all fails I have breakdown recovery.....be a last resort.....would hope I could sort it myself. All interesting stuff.
It is an SW-Motech Micro Tank bag which has the horseshoe attachment to the fuel cap. As the 2014 has a raised fuel cap you won't be able to use this type of mechanism.
Original rims Graham, the modern tubed rim will take a tubed tyre and I got Bridgestone to qualify its use. The tyre profile is quite different to the OEM and no central straight groove which is very popular with the older style tyre you see on some classics.
Yes, I did on the rear but the fronts were such a low torque setting I felt it would make little difference, the fit between the two surfaces was perfect and it required no pulling in. Now if I was doing the cylinder head I would be very specific about how I went about it all. Thanks for commenting.
Its a shame that you have gone to all that cost and they didn't fit angled tubeless valves perhaps Bart gave you the option - if not I am not impressed by their processes
I understand what you are saying but I think modern 90 deg valves would look out of place on my classic spoked wheels. Both my foot pump and electric pump have a 90 degree head so it’s no problem. I have no doubt BartFactory would be happy to accommodate a 90 valve on request. I have straight valves on my 2018 Tiger and don’t have a problem and 90 ones which suit my 1995 Daytona. Many thanks for commenting. 👍

Great idea and thanks for sharing.
Well done. You really seemed to have made a difference. Bike looking great.
Yes, those tyres were something else compared to the OEM’s.
That sure is a beautiful bike looks really good with those rims and tires.
Thanks, still running a dream on the new tyres, handling is superb.

Looks like a very nice quality job that Terry.
Thanks Jon👍
Nice change to the bike Terry. The bike looks great. Good vid too👍
Cheers Will. The pandemic got me doing stuff really and this was something I wanted to do since I picked up the CB. 👍
Surprised they didn’t put angled valves on the rims.
I asked them for straight, I thought they were more in keeping with the spokes. I have angled on my other bikes though yes, very handy.
Excellent video, thanks.
many thanks
Another great video, Terry. Just a shame you didn't think much of the tyres, though. ;)
Too kind. He he, I love them, still do!
Top video, as always 👍
Thanks David. 👍
Damn good looking bike 👍👍😁
It draws people whenever I park up I will say. Quite a unique motorcycle these days.
So any leaks so far? Any noticeable difference to mpg?
No leaks at all, pressure lasting as well as any other tubeless bike. Not noticed any MPG improvement or detriment. Well happy.
the improved bike turning , could be from the different unsprung weight from removing the tubes ?
I know what you are saying but no, it is definitely the T31 tyre profile, it is quite different to the OEM Dunlop Sportmax that were on there..
looks like a layer or multiple layers of urethane coating is used to create this tubeless setup
Its actually a molded Polymer Sheath. Still have the bike and it hasn't let me down. They lose no more air than my other cast wheel bikes.
Hi, i have the same bike, are your Bridgestones in the same standard size? Cheers Gary
They are Gary, bog standard. The Bridgestone tyre selector tool recommends them for the bike and Bridgestone confirmed it was OK to use these with the inner tube too.
Thank you Terry for your informative reply, i think they'll be my choice when i come to replace 😊
So you could have fitted Bridgestone T31 with tubes.
Yes 👍

@@terenceokeeffesmotorcyclestuff You can only vulcanise to rubber to rubber...not steel.
Got to be a sort of tape.....sorry to disagree.
@@nickaxe771 I stand corrected then Nick 👍, but it is not a tape. It is a a polymer sheath molded inside the rim.

Don't forget the air pressure is pushing it against the rim 🤔😉
Were did you get that bag thing on the tank? I like it, I’d get me one for my 2014, thanks

The agility probably come from the tubeless rims. The tyres will help but I bet most of it is coming from the tubeless rims...

Hello
Did you used the same stock tire size?
I did.
Thank you
Ride safe ✌🏼
@@hassanal-reshidi3537 You too my friend.
You really should snug and torque rotor bolts in a cross pattern like lug nuts on a car.
