Am I the only one annoyed when reviewers say it's a chunky phone? It's not a chunky phone, because it's not a phone. It's both a phone and a tablet. As such, perhaps it's pretty slim.
I got mine today. I've spent about 2 hours with it. It's nice sitting on the couch, but if I'm laying in bed or walking around it's just a little too unwielding. Also, I find when I'm watching video content it only fills up the portion of the screen that is about the size of a regular phone. So really what's the point? It is an amazing phone but at this point I think it's going back. It's just on practical. Plus I have a tablet that can serve its purpose as a media consumption device.
I watch full screen videos on mine. I think it may be too advanced for you, especially since you apparently don't know how to work through the settings menu. My advice: get an iPhone; they're specifically designed for non-savvy children and seniors

As a hard and fast Note user I was frustrated by having to upgrade to an S22 as the Note range had been discontinued. The S22 was a very wide phone and I was always conscious it was in my pocket, more so when I sat down. The fold gets me back to my Galaxy Note days with a stylus and the fact that it has a thinner width makes it way more comfortable to carry despite being thicker in depth. I was slightly dubious but very happy I've upgraded now. The price is ridiculous though, if I hadn't got all the offers EE threw at me the price would have stopped me. Looking forward to my free Buds2 Pro arriving now.
I purchased the Samsung Z Flip 3 5G and had a lot of fun with it, I was really impressed with the screen and the fact they managed to squish all that tech in a phone that flips. I was NOT impressed with the cameras, however, and that lead to me selling it and going back to a regular phone. The cameras are a huge thing for me and hopefully they improve that, I am really looking foreword to seeing what the google fold phone has in store for us!

I was excited as mine is due to arrive in 2 days. But today I went to check one out in person at a T-Mobile store and the screen already has a huge bubble down the crease and is tearing away at the top and bottom along the crease. Then I was told that in the U.S., Samsung tends to always deny warranty fixes. I think I'm not even going to open the box and return it rather than using my S22 Ultra as a trade.
There’s just no justifiable reason for me to upgrade from the Z Fold 3 to the Fold 4; I played with a Fold 4 at Best Buy and it was about the same. And 5 hours of SOT? That’s not what I wanted to hear. Either I trade my Z Fold 3 in for the 14 Pro Max or wait it out and wait for some huge price cut on the Z Fold 4 in the future.
Living in Japan and it's so hard to wait for the localized version cuz they always release it 1-2 months later than the global ver. In Japan, the logo on the hinge is Galaxy instead of SAMSUNG, and Japan uses its own NFC payment system called Felica also needs to be integrated into the phone😂

An Iphone 14 pro with 512 is $1299 from Apple direct and the ipad mini 256 is $549 from Amazon. Apple was willing to give me a whole $250 for my Note 20 ultra making the price after trade in at $1600. I just purchased the Zfold 4 from Samsung. I got an educational price plus $400 off and $1000 for my Note 20 ultra. Total ended at $500. And I only need to carry one device but I'll have my tablet with me at all times.
I swapped from 13 Pro max . The battery not as good as there but not far away. I am a heavy user but never used 100% in one day. Not to mention its much better to hold and use with one hand. Perfect. No going back from here. Next should be the fold 5
Not sure I trust Samsung these days, I've got a Note 20 Ultra 5G and my average daily screen time is 45 minutes (according to the Samsung monitoring), and my battery is almost dead at the end of every day. I can't remember what the screen time was when it was new, but I'm 93% convinced that the battery took a nose dive when a phone update came around the time the S22 was released. I remember saying to the wife that I bet my battery will be worse now that Samsung want people like me to upgrade... I would normally say it's due to natural battery degradation but it fell off pretty hard pretty quickly around new product launch time. Gonna monitor my Watch4 now and see if that starts doing the same thing.
Dunno my note 20 ultra still gets 4-5 screen on time average. See if there's an app eating your data in the background. UA-cam was killing my S8 ultra with the background data usage
@@lololololololol444 Been there done that, there's nowt in the background taking juice, it was a very clear and obvious nose dive around the time that update came out. I'm proper annoyed because I even took a screen grab of my average battery life just before that update installed to compare with afterwards... knowing that this might happen, but I can't for the life of me find where it is
Looking forward to Oppo's next foldables this year. Hoping they'll get a global release and improved optimisation to take on Samsung's dominance, as I much prefer that form factor.
The Flip is the best for the average person. A large phone that folds into a compact form. The Fold is for people who want a portable tablet and the productivity that comes with it.
the fold is for people who thought they were getting a phone that unfolds into a tablet. Little did they know that they were getting a slightly larger phone that folds into a door wedge.

I have had all 3 and OnePlus 10 pro is the most comfortable in the hand and slightly better battery life but the S22 Ultra has the best camera! The fold is really cool but not too practical for me..
@@aaronman2007 yes my one of 7t Pro McLaren edition to this day is by far the slimmest and the most premium handset I have ever used. Including today's modern flagships. Since holding and using my buddies S 22 Ultra especially with a case on it, it's just way too big and bulky. I've also given up on the fold idea. I'm waiting for the one plus 11 in a few months with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and 16 GB of RAM. Finally OnePlus is coming back to flagship killer territory. And I personally don't care if my phone doesn't have a 200 MB camera. The current OnePlus 10 Pro camera is more than I need. Thanks for the reply by the way
Very true and good point. Yes that'll be a great one. Also there's nothing like OnePlus super fast charging at least here in the US. Makes everything else seem slow.
Hi Chris i like your content, your are one of the rare youtubers who like compact phones like me. I am tired of all of them pushing to us massive phones. Oops. Cheers from India. Tc
I was concerned about that as well but I've read up the new os makes it last much longer than the previous gen. Something to do with its ability to auto change it's refresh rate on the fly depending on what you're doing. I'll know soon when it eventually gets delivered anyways. If I send it back it'll be for that reason.
@@musashi247777 Well if you take the last 26 hours since my last charge... I have 3 hours screen time (large screen 90% of the time) and 23 hours screen off and my battery is at 76% right now. As a fold 4 owner myself, I set the performance profile to light on my fold 4, and i averaged about 6 hours of screen on time, and I barely even used the cover screen! Edit: 6 hours is good screen on time, and that is what I would expect from a 2022 flagship

Nice! I think you got this spot on. I love the idea of the fold, but it's too big and unless you spend your life watching youtube, while browsing or chatting, then why do you need to carry a device that big! You don't see many in the UK, so you are going to stand out in the park when you get it out to take a picture! But - £250 off to trade in a phone, Disney for a year (about 90), I hear £100 cash back in the box, I also hear £100 Google Play Voucher. That £1,700 phone is now about £1,200...

I swapped from 13 Pro max . The battery not as good as there but not far away. I am a heavy user but never used 100% in one day.
Not to mention its much better to hold and use with one hand. Perfect. No going back from here. Next should be the fold 5
The rem wallpaper is so good
Where do u get ur wallpapers from ... please let me know ...
Dude I feel the same. Same phone as you and battery life took a shit on my note 20 ultra after that update came out. 🤔
I'm proper annoyed because I even took a screen grab of my average battery life just before that update installed to compare with afterwards... knowing that this might happen, but I can't for the life of me find where it is
@Tech Spurt Always enjoy your videos!!!! Your wallpapers are amazing, where do you download or get it from?
Looking forward to Oppo's next foldables this year. Hoping they'll get a global release and improved optimisation to take on Samsung's dominance, as I much prefer that form factor.
Please tell me tht app name where u download anime wallpaper . ..it's humble request 🙏🙏
@@NCC_1701 Ok!
I've had 2 folds now, I bought phones that unfold into tablets. Which is exactly what they do.
If you can't afford one, don't trash them, save up!
LOL, in your opinion.
THAT INTRO
This man got taste for wallpapers and reviews as well
given a choice of hiking to work with an iphone and ipad/laptop or just a single zfold i choose to join the fold! every gram counts when you are walking with your gear
The intro 😭😭😂😂
How's the multi tasking really? My ultra tends to over heat and close multi window. So I'm wondering if this overheats.
Thanks for this review! I was almost falling for the hype, but you definitely kept things very real. Loved it!
Great video noq I made my mind up 🙂 can u please tell me the name of the game in min 7.40 ?
Brilliant intro. Thanks Chris.
Y'all kill me with calling this phone girthy. It takes up less space in my pocket than my s22 Ultra. It's like y'all just say that because it's the thing to say and you don't wanna go against the grain.
What is this game you're playing?
It's just a silly form factor when unfolded. It should be shorter so when you unfold it it's more rectangular. A better viewing screen.
Where did you get the wallpapers that you used in this phone ?
What an intro!! Good one!
Awesome review mate 😁👍
What is a "Zed" in regards to phone name?
"GODZILLA-SIZED BLOWER" Hahaha...That's why I watch (and prefer) your content, because you keep it real, like a pal chatting over a pint, down at our local pub. 👍🏽
I got the s22 ultra and s21 ultra..should I trade in the s21 ultra for $1,000 off?
Hi Tech Spurt can you help me out? I would like to know how well this phone will do again dust as I work in construction in a dust environment and just need to know if the phone will last?
Any advice is really appreciated thanks
Just your resident Norfolk bumpkin here… Those pics were in the fabulously awful Great Yarmouth, and that Maze-Maze was in Southworld. You’re welcome.
LOL. Love your opening statement about Mum.
OnePlus 7T pro McLaren user for 3 yrs. 90% of my use is flipping through apps, lots of Google searches, and streaming. Torn between the 10 pro, ultra 22, and Z fold. Cost is no factor. Any thoughts or experiences with these devices??
Go for the S22 ultra, it's the best all round blower
@@abdulazeezsuleiman9965 thanks for the reply. And yes that's what I think I'm getting
Lol you are funny. I sometimes just click on your videos for a laugh without any interest in the phone itself.
Hi Chris i like your content, your are one of the rare youtubers who like compact phones like me. I am tired of all of them pushing to us massive phones. Oops. Cheers from India. Tc
Great review Chris, not bad for a Sunderland fan🙈⚽️👍
Ha, cheers mate!
Everyone complaining about the cover display being narrow as if y'all didn't use the iPhone 4 and 5.
The size and battery were my biggest concerns, thanks for the review!
I was concerned about that as well but I've read up the new os makes it last much longer than the previous gen. Something to do with its ability to auto change it's refresh rate on the fly depending on what you're doing. I'll know soon when it eventually gets delivered anyways. If I send it back it'll be for that reason.
@@somethingboss how's battery?
@@musashi247777 Well if you take the last 26 hours since my last charge... I have 3 hours screen time (large screen 90% of the time) and 23 hours screen off and my battery is at 76% right now. If I compare it to my heaviest use day 2nd of Sep I got 7h 34m on screen and 14h 19m off screen time before next charge. I'm not using it as my main phone just yet so still hard to decide on how well it would preform. So far though... I'm very pleased.
What’s the wallpaper your using for the unfolded front display? From an app or theme type dealio?
Where do you get your walpapers please
gaming on the Z Fold 3 is so fun but will probably not upgrade to this... maybe I'll wait for 2 generations of fold
Great review - thank you :)
Does anyone know where does he get his walpapers?
I took the risk and I don't regret it. I'm absolutely in love with this device. Although the cover display is still a bit too thin.
As a fold 4 owner myself, I set the performance profile to light on my fold 4, and i averaged about 6 hours of screen on time, and I barely even used the cover screen!
Edit: 6 hours is good screen on time, and that is what I would expect from a 2022 flagship
Regret your purchase?
What a crappy battery life, you spent almost 2k dollars for 6 hours screen on time.
@@naheemdefinitely not, The multitasking and camera features, and just that bigger screen to consume media on is definitely worth it. And 6 hours ia kinda average in 2022
@@TheWalf999 For flagship phone's 6 hours of screen on time is decent. And considering that it's a foldable with a 4400 mah battery 6 hours or more is super efficient.Kudos to the snapdragon 8+Gen 1 i have to say.
@@TheWalf999 Thats actually a good point, for 2k, you would expect better battery life 🤔
ayy Anime homescreen... a Tech UA-camr that's one of us, a rare sight indeed
Tried the big ones, still prefer the size of s22 regular. Waiting to get my hands on zenfone 9. For me the best size was the pixel 4a or at least the pixel 5.
Best reviewer in the market 👌🏾👌🏾
What's the name of the film that was showing on the screen of the Zfold??
Good review.
Seems fair and realistic.
You don't sound biased.
And your British 🇬🇧 👍🏻
I died at the intro. looool
Where did he get those wallpapers? From which sourcee
I've been waiting for your review of this phone...
I'm gonna purchase a fold 3, now as it should be considerably cheaper! Plus there isn't a huge difference between them both.
No price reductions yet
Pls tell where do i find those wallpapers😍
Portland, JAMAICA in the Building !!!!!
Great review 👏
Hey Chris, I really enjoyed the review!
Would it be possible to get your opinion on the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2?
I really love the galaxy flip as well. But I really prefer the Mix Fold 2 to the Galaxy fold 4.
The intro made my day!
Hopefully I get mine tomorrow !
Please write your wallpaper source in the description!!!
