I sang this song last year for my school choir 10/10 such a beautiful song and when we mastered 1:41 everyone went WILD choir teachers please choose this song its so beautiful.
I love how loud the Alto part is! They sound so confident, and they sound very gorgeous. In my choir, they tend to be overpowered since we are a very small choir and they're pretty shy. Ty for sharing.
I'm in choir, and my choir teacher taught me and my class this song. In my opinion this is the best one we've learned so far. And hearing how it's supposed to sound and hearing the whole song, I can say that this song is amazing.
I’m about to sing this in my 8th grade honors choir concert. I don’t think we can sing this as good, but I love this piece! It gives me chills each time I hear it.
Sounds pretty good, but their cutoffs need to be cleaner, especially the consonants like "s" and "t." Not trying to hate, I still think this version is pretty well done, just giving constructive criticism.
Yes, it's an SAB. Thankfully the bass part isn't all that low. I'm one of 2 tenors in my small choir of like 12 people, and it works fine for us when we just put me and the other tenor with the basses.
@@Tyrone5079 I figured such. My choir is relatively large, and we have a prominent tenor section so I guess it was weird to not hear it definitively in this. We are singing this piece currently, but as SATB, and I was very taken back by the missing part
yes, this is sab. the baritones in my middle school choir managed to pull off singing it (with only 3 mistakes), while my teacher just lumped the 2 tenors we had with the altos edit: this can be satb too but ig mostly middle school choirs sing this lol
tip: try making the vowels sound taller and more "british", not only will it help you sing higher notes but it will also just generally sound a bit better
The main things that caught my attention was how prominent and held out the “s” sounds were, and it’s pretty distracting. The students are also moving around a lot, something that my teacher would give you a lot of crap about lmao. I would also suggest building on the confidence and loudness of the men, as I can barely hear them over the female parts. But overall, pretty good!
probably because it's a relatively easy song to sing, especially for sopranos/altos because the notes don't go very high or low. the baritone part also doesn't have very low (or high) notes for that range so it won't sound terrible with the changing voices of pubescent 12-14 year olds

They sound like high schoolers😍😍

I'm 8th choir and our choir teacher is teaching this now and so far we're doing okay

scary....i had a dream about this song....."on this old gray mill with its gambrel roof" kept playing over and over again
im singing that song at a concert tonight

This is better than the other choir i just heard their vowels are WAY better my MS choir last year got a superior on this song
By any chance is this an SAB arrangement, because being a tenor, I hear a concerning lack of my vocal part. It sounds amazing, I'm just curious

Same as a bass. They sung the first line and I was caught off guard by the different arrangement.

You’re able to get a satb my choir has one

I dont move an inch but somehow I don't move enough lmao
Why do only middle school choirs sing this???

Im in varsity choir in 10th grade, but the regular choir class was gonna sing this for our spring concert but obviously... Chorus stuff.
conductor is really just moving her arms around..
mariah different conductors have different ways of conducting
Your choir needs more of the voul shape and needs to be more unified
petunia glasgow, maybe spell "vowel" right, and then you can criticise
Alexia Glasgow
Maybe you should learn how to spell before you criticize how someone sings
It's not like it was a harsh criticism though. It was very constructive.
@@Tyrone5079 true, but voul?
Maple view did better
Yeah
