I just finished building my first rig. If I continue down this road (pun intended), I will certainly get the triple monitor setup and reconfigure my rig to something much like this. Looks great, thanks for sharing with us.
It is very inspiring, as I am building my first real rig right now. The DIY never stops and I am very glad to have machine tools available at work and a 3D modeling tool, it helps immensely. Really loving the effort you put into your sim! :)
ended up here accidentally as UA-cam recommended me your channel...and oh boy - I am staying here for longer! Awesome rig you made and great voice. Will wait for some next videos.
One month ago I built my first dedicated cockpit. It's just some simple 2x4 and the passenger seat out of my car (shut up I'm broke), but the addiction is real. Now I'm thinking of doing something similar if I ever decide to go triple screens. Your work looks rad as hell, and is a great detailed look at how one would construct this on their own. It's kind of outrageous how expensive some of the pre-mades are, so I've opted that if I ever need a new cockpit, I'm just building it. I'll porbably just frankenstein this one until it gets out of control, lol.
thanks for the brilliant tips! I'm also in the process of converting my RIG into a cockpit! can you tell me what dimensions the fire extinguisher in the passenger footwell has and how many kilograms it weighs? what dimensions does the box in the passenger footwell have (minute 0:40)
Noo... Thank you Kevin !! In my book, my time watching your video was well spent, appreciate the effort you have taken to give a rundown of your rig mate. Very well done, even if it was a second take at making it all fit food for thought
Insane set up!!! Slowly working on building mine up. Started with some 1/8” hardboard wrapped in cf vinyl with some 3D printed brackets to fill in below the monitors. Want to do a new console and floor board to mount the electronics as well.
Hi great build glad to see your back. I can't for the life of me get crew chief to workwith my stream deck just trying to assign a button to start it up any idea hiw I can get a icon on my desktop can only get it to my task bar
Thanks. It created a shortcut on my desktop on install. For the stream deck, I think I just used a launch button. You should be able to apps in settings and create a shortcut.
Awesome set up man! Probably the best full immersion cockpit I’ve seen. Watching the GT3 Road America race yesterday I saw that pump thing on the floorboard in one of the cars and I thought, oh, I wonder if I could build something like that to add to my floorboard and then I come across this! What are the odds we could get a parts list for that build? I’ve got the black cable management box, braided clear tubing and the PSI gauge so far.
Hey, man. Thank you. You're almost there. I had spare hose laying around except the blue house and some 90-degree plastic fittings I picked up from the hardware store. I think the blue hose is 1.5 inch dia. The red knob was taken of a broken regulator I also had laying around.
@@sense-of-speed awesome man! I actually had some spare pool hose as well. Gonna use 2 sections of that. I believe that’s what you’re running there as well huh? Anyway, great work man. I’m thinking my next addition needs to be the driver side door.
@Rungunseattacos lol. Good eye. Yes, it is. I may get something different when money allows, but for now, it works. The door was by far one of the best pieces I added. It really makes a difference.
hi man. congrats for the channel, my favourite one now. i need ur help, can you send or show pictures of how you close the pedals site? and how you place yhe console on a aluminium frame? you inspire me so a can modify mine just to be more like yours. thanks a lot and keep up pls
@@sense-of-speed in a bit of an immersion Rabbit Hole trying to get new ideas and ways of attaching props panels or even a fire extinguisher to basically nothing. Problem is I have a full-motion rig with a quad monitor setup so I'm not sure how I can do this without everything shaking off. Awsome rig BTW 🏁👀
@mercenarysaw OH, man. Adding motion to the mix proves difficult! A lot of my methods might not work for you. I would suggest using as much profile as you can and attach panels with bolts. Lightweight would be good, too.
Im gonna make something like this when i get my new gear but i only got a single screen tv So i hope it will work good i guess but im also planning to get 3 monitor setup in the future so im thinking i could make the cockpit when i get 3 monitors
Hey, man. It's 3M but rebranded under "Azobur" on Amazon. I buy the 9.5 inch by 40" roll. If I link it UA-cam will delete the reply. It's also sold as 'velvet repair patch" but it's really close to short nap suede. The cheaper type I've tried is more like velvet and the adhesive is horrible.
it's not too bad actually. If the outside temp is above 75 it gets warm after a few hours but running a small fan on low is comfortable. I have yet to install ducted fans under the dash and an exhaust fan. once i finish all of the Prototype parts I'll work on those and run them from Simhub so I can switch on the fly.
@@sense-of-speed for me it made a big change when i moved my pc behind the monitor. but still too hot... in summer i have to have a towel on the seat and im only in my underwear. after an hour or so im soaking wet. i dont think a canopy would be ideal for me :D
omg finally, a first to say this kind of shit.. on every post everyone has always beat me to it.. 😂 and Even if you didnt flash the pic i would have still commented this..
Кевин, привет! Я из России, смотрю таком видео и очень давно подписан на такой канал, желаю тебе удачи! У тебя один из самых прекрасных кокпитов, которые я только видел! Как мне сделать тоже самое не знаю…но очень хочется…
Best rig ever seen so far. Absolutely live the opening door system, simple and immersive.
Thank you very much!
Signed :D

Nice video. Just upgraded my entire setup and now looking at ways to do this. Thanks for all the the info.

Looks fantastic.
Such a creative build and inspirational. Thanks for sharing Kevin!

Great video Kevin, the editing was spot on.

This is art! A hobby within the hobby! 👌🏾
I look at it the same way!
I will build a sim racing rig in about three weeks, this gives me many ideas! Thank you Kevin.
Rock on. I'm glad to inspire and thank you for checking it out.
Great editing and you gave me some fresh ideas for the rig, you’ve got a new sub.
Rock on, man. Thanks for the compliments and the sub. I greatly appreciate it.
Impressive! 🙌🏻
Thank you very much.
Great work❤

great video kevin mate!

Glad to hear, buddy. That's why I make them!
Impressive build - though I really wish you'd had far more light in the video so we could actually see the great work you've put in.
Thank you. The next two build videos should be better. I'm still a rookie at this whole video thing. Lol

You may be able to come with something for the single monitor but yes, it is a little more convincing with triples. Either way. Good luck with it!
Very nice setup, Where can I buy raw alcantara online? I can't find it anywhere, thanks
Thank you. I'm not sure. I get mine at a local fabric store. Maybe Amazon?
Awesome build man, seriously the dream! What monitors do you use?
Thanks, man. AOC 32" 165hz. They are also flipped upside down.

how is the heat inside it? Does the heat stay inside because of the canopy?

More!
Lol. Thanks. More coming soon. Hopefully, I didn't blow my load on this one.
