It's criminal that Gerry Bron didn't spend a dime on professionally recording this 1972 tour.
Worse yet, Bron actually re-used the master reel tapes for each studio album. I.e., the Demons And Wizards master reel(s) was/were/ recycled for 'Magician's Birthday', which in turn was recycled for 'Live 73' and later 'Sweet Freedom'. That's why none of the original, unmixed studio recordings exist; only the mixdowns do. When I first learned of this in the early ots I just couldn't believe Bron would be so incredibly cheap toward us fans: Just spend a nickel for some virgin tape, what with the millions you were raking in at the time! That said, Bron apparently treated HEEP well financially, unlike the management some of their peers like Sabbath and Badfinger suffered under. P.S. The European tour of Spring '72 was HEEP's greatest ever, and Bron didn't have the brains to record that, either.

Just aggravates that their live music from this era is so scarce and the most we available the sound quality is subpar. Except fir Live 73 and a couple bootlegs the rest is nit that good,
