- Let's take a look at the NEW Camp Cretaceous Spinosaurus by Mattel. These just hit stores in Canada in the last 2 days and I found mine here in Nanaimo, BC. Let me know your thoughts on this new color scheme and how it compares of the Legacy Spinosaurus. What has been your favorite depiction of the Jurassic Park 3 spino in terms of figures, models and statues?

When I first saw the Spinosaurus in JP3, I couldn't believe that such a creature existed and could bring down a T-rex! It was even more menacing that I could imagine! I think the darker colored Spinosaurus would be my favorite of all. Thanks for sharing, Laura! Xxxx
Though in reality they lived in different climates but it sure held its own on tarbosaurs and allos

But the thing is, the Aussie & New Zealand toy markets are only 000001% of the world toy market,so we will eventually get them but some months later. But yeah I agree with your comments on the skin colours mate. Consider buying some good quality modellers paints and touch them up.Can be fun. I’ve done it on pieces. Toys are starting to have the same problem/issue that comics did in the late '80s, early 90's with multiple variant covers which were done only to drive more sales because collectors would never know which variant would be the most collectible several years in the future. The problem is, it will end the same, that's part of what drove the comic collecting world down the drain!
Unfortunately Marvel/DC still do this. One of the most common predatory sales techniques they use on comic shops today is to say "if you buy 250 copies of this comic, we will give you 1 copy of this exclusive cover". The comic shop can then maybe sell that one cover for quite a lot but then they will have 250 copies of a comic that nobody wants rotting on the shelf.

I was really hoping for this Spinosaurus to have similar packaging with the Legacy Collection Spino cuz I was really looking forward to finding methods to tighten that tail joint. But oh well, here's to hoping we will get a Bigger Electronic Spinosaurus in the future.

Spinosaurus is such a cool dinosaur (even tho JP3 is confirmed to be a hybrid), people really barely understand why things happened, why the spinosaurus followed the people is because it got injured from the plane hitting it sail, and we know in recent films that hybrids are more aggressive. The T-rex that was killed in Jp3 was a Juvenile Rex, and it was also hinted that the Spinosaurus was also a Juvenile as well with the timeline of the films and other sources. I do hope we can see it once more but fully grown eating people and giving cool deaths like Eddie Carr from TLW.
My kids are obsessed and terrified by this show :)

Never caught that Spino shot in Camp Cretaceous, that’s a cool theory. I do really hope we see another Spino in either CC or Dominion. I’ve always liked that dinosaur. And this guy is great, dig the new desert color scheme. Hopefully they are more available than the two previous figures. Luckily I ran into the blue Spino and picked him up a couple years ago, glad I did, had no idea he’d become almost as rare of the Legacy! I’m with you, Laura, I got that animatronic Spino for Xmas back when that movie came out and I thought it was coolest thing ever. Eventually, I think I broke the machinery inside, but the size and details on it were just awesome. These Mattel figures are easily the best we’ve gotten outside of that figure though.

@@SFforlife You obviously didn't watch the video. The dinosaur isn't offered in the US at all, so there's little point in doing the conversion. Plus, Canadian currency is currently worth about $0.09 above US currency, with the gap getting larger now that Biden's in office.
@@timothyhansen6581 I watched the entire video dude. And I knew beforehand that this figure wasn’t out in the US. Yet. It will be. All I was doing was throwing out a guesstimate, basing this figure off what I remember the blue battle damage Spino was. I can’t really remember, but $30-$40 is probably around that area. Though this guy has no electronics, I can’t see him going for more than $30. At least, I hope not.
@AARON PlCHARDO Hopefully it’s released everywhere sometime this Spring and/or Summer. If it’s already out in Canada, it shouldn’t take long to come out in the US. I think it’s going to be a wide release, so I’d keep an eye out for it at Walmart and Target.

I just picked one up through Target online here in California.. For my kid's birthday.. I think the lighter color makes it look more cold friendly. But $30 without a roaring sound.. I just think Mattel should have added a roaring feature to make it more fun. They have smaller dinos that make a sound and the Spino has more then enough space for a speaker feature. Otherwise, nice dinosaur. Great and thorough review!!

Great review, i love the paintjob on this, but i already have the Legacy version, so i am probably going to open that one at some point. It stinks that Mattel didn't fix the joint issue yet. The Legacy version, a lot of people reported getting weak legs preventing the Spino from standing properly. Hopefully mine won't have that issue.

Fun squishy rubber really is the fun rubber. For that scanner dna, maybe shine a light on it with a flashlight. I do that with the QR codes that don't want to work and it seems to help a good majority of the time.
