The performed Venom of "My compliments To The Chef" excellently expressed by Alex and superbly backed up by Zal Cleminson on lead with literal clown irony - you still have it Zal and a treat to hear and see it.
Zal is a beast of a performer and always has been! First saw him when he played with Alex supporting Slade in the early 70's and he just blew me away! Still one of the best guitarists in the UK...
Zal Cleminson doesn't take much of a lead role anymore, but he's definitely one of the greatest guitar players of our time. He's a master of the instrument, and his playing is always inventive and exciting. When he's on stage, he commands attention with his virtuosity and stage presence.
Bloody brilliant at 73 . I played a similar guitar to Zals in the early 90s Just one pick up and one control With a push piull switch for tone It was a Hagstrom Love his boots !
They used to rehearse at Transmission in Clydebank at the same time as us and they were so loud it must have been painful in the studio they were in. We used to stop to listen to some of the superb sounds coming from next door. I heard he was packing it all in again though.
@@MrBillybonkers Hope ye're well Billy, I did a few spots at the Madcap was always a great night, you liked a routine I did where I was this auld Scottish wumman aff the telly telling stories about her farm and it turns into a Salvador Dali painting with burning giraffes, clocks on the wall melting, etc. There was only one occasion where things didn't work out, you booked me as a support for Michael Redmond on a Christmas Eve and we didn't have an audience so we just went for a pint.
That's a good point - although zal has quite a stage presence himself frontmen like Alex Harvey had a dramatic level to the performance as well - in such a scenario Zal can be a little more laid back as he is less likely to feel he has to "carry" the overall performance. I think you would almost immediately see a return to the style you like best with the introduction of another suitable frontman or frontwoman for that matter.
3:13 Too much effing around with your guitar at the start of the show . You should be plugged in and ready to go . Love your boots but . rock on laddie
@@andym28 Hey lighten up - he just gave Zal and the Scots a massive compliment . think about it if Zal wasn't so dammed talented why on Earth would he express that he wish he was born English instead. 😂
Dam Zal is a king among performers! Right on my playlist. He’s fresh and amazing after decades, true G.
Zal he's definitely one of the greatest guitar players of our time .

The kid's got energy :)
Cool as F!!!!!
Brilliant.
Very underrated guitarist Zal played with many bands
NOBODY EVER UNDERRATED ZAL !
zal !!!!!! vive la difference
There,s no denying he's brilliant but I prefer the old Zal to the shredding Zal _ more distinctive, emotive, melodic
