I've lived in Australia for over fifty-three years now, but I was born in Cardigan. Our family left when I was six (Dad in Royal Air Force). I've been back seven times since Mum and Dad died there in 2004/2005. The site where 'The Original Factory Shop' in the town square is now, was the site of the first (and last) 'FW Woolworths' store in Cardigan. It opened just before we left in 1956 and it was still there when I visited there in 2007. My last visit was in 2017. Each time I've been back another relative hasn't been there when I've returned. Not sure if I'll get back. Thanks for posting.

Wow ..didn't know that was a Woolworths originally .....its nice to imagine back then and can see Woolworths having that central spot ...thank you for that information and comment x

@@HazVentures Back in the mid fifties having a Woolworths in a small town like Cardigan was a big deal.

@@Parawingdelta2 I can only imagine ..i was born in the late 60s and remember Woolworths everywhere around the London areas ....we was chuffed to have them there !!
