I remember taking a train from London to Leicester in 2012. The train was fast enough but less comfortable than the trains we have now in Indonesia. For Indonesians, they have to show their ID if they want to buy a ticket but foreigners have have to show their passports. I can't wait to see you in Bandung, Sister. There are many class in regular trains : economy, economy premium (business), executive, executive plus (priority), panoramic (largest window), sleeper and suites (compartment) .... Panoramic, sleeper and suite usually ready to big city or popular city or tourist city, not only to Bandung ... The price of theese ticket quite similar to flight fare.
If you want to enjoy the panorama of Indonesia ( west Java ) You can take Panoramic train ( ± 3 hours ) But if you dont have much time to spend you can take whosh train ( 30 minutes )
Bandung has a rare unique dessert namely : Colenak please go to Indomart or Yogya Department Store, some time you will find Colenak there. it is hard to find. It is made from baked fermented casava dressed with coconut sugar
