I visited Bandung in 2013 but first traveled from Jakarta to Cianjur where I stayed for a week and then onto Bandung by bus where I stayed at the old Politeknik Bandung for a few days. I got free accommodation and in turn I had to give a talk at the new campus. I decided to give a talk on my heritage connection to Indonesia and how we evolved as a society in South Africa where my ancestors were brought to as slaves and prisoners because we resisted Dutch occupation some 350 years ago. Indonesians are gentle and tolerant people that are vey welcoming. I am retired now but still travel and enjoy backpacking and have my sights set on Lombok and possibly Kalimantan in the future insha-Allah.
maybe next you have to go to Lombok... and you can climb Mount Rinjani as the seven highest peaks in Indonesia... and many other tourist attractions in Lombok... insya Alloh...
I already can tell you guys must be really amazing parents, cause your children are very well behaved 😍 3 little girls can be so chaotic but they seem so easy to organized.

After tried on Whoosh train, next you should try the "Panoramic Train" from central Bandung station to Yogyakarta. The best take the morning train from bandung and choose the back left side seat from bandung side. You will be paid with amazing and spectacular view along the way.
