@@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing took my girls on their first fishing trip to Banksia this arvo. My first time fishing since before they were born, over 8 years ago! Followed your whiting rigs and landed two nice bream! We all had a blast!

Steve Best your welcome
Great video. So much useful info...AND you reel them in too. I’m in Victoria and experimenting with baits.
Michael H can’t beat fresh bait
Great tips thanks mate!
You’re very welcome
Great video Wayne
Thanks Fattymole.
Definitely a nice size Whiting.

excellent - Thanks

We use a 6" trace, works a treat. The closer the bait is on the bottom the better. The length of trace makes no difference with a running sinker. Look how a whiting is shaped they are bottom feeders. Cheers
Chris Bradbury good to hear different prospectives.
That's a big fish
Thanks Spendezy.
Nice video
Thanks
Nice one, thanks I'll try my hand next time the fam wants to go fishing and spread it to the young blokes. Cheers
Chris Whitney most welcome
Sorry to be offtopic but does any of you know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account??
I stupidly lost my password. I appreciate any tips you can give me!
@Omari Finn instablaster ;)
@Marco Kashton thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Marco Kashton It did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thank you so much you saved my account!
Cool
thanks
nice vid
thanks
Might have to go have a look. Awesome video Wayne! Im assuming its near kakadu beach on google maps?
boozled86 yes it is. To the north of it I think
Park on Solander Esp. Banksia Beach is SE of White Patch.
Good stuff
jonnywaselectric thanks Jon
Land and Bay Fishing I've revisited the video to check the rig, what lb leader do you use and it appears you are using a good 8 inches of red tubing?
jonnywaselectric the leader is 6lb. Red tube is about 10cm.
Land and Bay Fishing cheers mate, I'm keen to have a crack on the weekend
jonnywaselectric good luck
Can you recommend good sand whiting spots on redcliffe peninsula? Strictly summer whiting. Cheers mate.
DoomiePookie let me just start with there are no sure things anywhere. But from the first full moon in September margate beach fires up with summer whiting. You will notice several old fella’s in the same spots most days.
Great video mate
Another than worms what else bait we can use to catch whiting in Sydney it costs like $4 each
Live worms are best. Live yabbies a close second.
Nice video. Don't you throw the stonkas/survivors back to breed?
Glad you liked it. 90 percent of my catch is returned. Occasionally I keep a feed. That can easily be seen if you watch a few of my vids.
What reel would you recommend for this - with an emphasis on surf/beach conditions?
it depends a fair bit on the rod you have or are using. For beach fishing, chasing whiting, bream, dart etc I like a 11.5 foot soft/lite style whiting rod with a 6" alvey. If you prefer spin reels then a 2500 to 4000 Shimano stradic.
Thinking about moving to banksia beach.. is it worth the move from melbourne? Cheers!
You for real
Anywhere better than vic
LOL
@@walkabout1094 hahahahaaa!!! True mate, vics a shithole but its home 😂

In nsw they won't eat on run in tide water is too cold wait till the run out tidw
good to know. interesting
can you find beach worms on this beach?
No.
Will they take soldier crabs?
Jason Clark yes but if you can use the very small ones with the grey backs. They will take the blue ones but the small ones are better. About three on a hook
Thanks for that. Can you dig for blood worms anywhere around Deception bay or Bribie? Cheers
What is best bait for thise fish
El Prufesur live yabbies or live worms. The best bait will depend on the main food in the area you are fishing
Land and Bay Fishing thanks i well try worms because i not use worms ..... last time i try a squid is very nice but now worms
What beach was this
Banksia beach
Sorry what was that rod
That on I made myself. Composite blank. 10ft I think that one is. I have about 40 but I’m fairly sure that’s the one.
Why not just use chicken? I've read lots of people saying chicken is just as good if not better than worms and yabbies. Sure chicken isn't their natural food source but what does that matter? Would save all the fluffing around with finding and looking after worms and other live baits.
No where close to live natural baits.
