  • Hello everyone, we start today with the videos I shot during my trip to Vietnam, which followed the one in Thailand.
Starting to comment on aspects of this trip to Vietnam the first thing that comes to mind is the war. In the collective imagination whenever you hear the word Vietnam, the mind rushes to that tremendous war, wretched as all, that left a burden in the history of the twentieth century rather heavy, was the first conflict lost by the Americans, a world power that has been incredibly defeated by the strength of the little Vietnamese, the perseverance and perseverance of a people more motivated to defend their territory. The Americans have suffered considerable losses both from the military point of view and from the emotional and psychological point of view: the veterans of Vietnam, returned with tremendous symptoms of post-traumatic stress, if not mutilated, have created a big problem for American society, Protests all over the world, and in America itself, during the war, put politicians in a difficult position, a war that nobody wanted. The Americans; I speak of the common people, did not want this conflict, and they returned defeated, decimated, damaged even in the spirit. But they have bequeathed death and destruction, with tremendous consequences for the local population, also because of the harmful bombardments with chemical agents, which have left consequences even after years. A dirty, nasty, bad war. Almost 50 years have passed since that April 30, 1975, when the Vietnamese entered Saigon with the fleeing Americans, breaking through the presidential palace gate... that we are going to visit today.... We will return to talk about war when we go to the War Remnants Museum of Ho Chi Minh City, that was Saigon.
