  • Yep, Lone Echo is the best VR game I have ever played and I can honestly owe a lot of the inspiration and passion I have for VR and this channel to this game. I love it, and if you haven't already, I'd really recommend you to try it.

Robo Recall is the first game I had really played in VR (I did have a friend who was able to let me try a couple quick demos in his oculus beforehand). I was at a mall with friends and they had a demo stand for the oculus with RR as one of the choices, 20 minute demos so it was a nice play session. I had to use revive later on because of my HMD choice, but it was still a great experience. Probably the most enjoyable arcade-style gameplay one can possibly get right now

While Robo Recall is certainly great and looks fantastic visually as well, I'm with ThrillSeeker on this one. Lone Echo is hands down the best all-around VR experience there is for utilizing the benefits and immersion of VR - it's locomotion combined with great story that flows very naturally really lock you in like nothing else I've played in VR.
There are plenty of other great VR games, but Lone Echo is up there.

Robo Recall was my "wow" moment. I did finally play Lone Eco but to be honest it was actually the sequel trailer that got me to buy it.
The game was amazing, the story was memorizing, and the fungus stuff gave me "Alien" level of anxiety. But when it got slow it did feel like a "go here, now here, oh this happened now seal it"
Maybe the story got boring because of VR since quick time events don't exist in VR too often. The story was paused and constantly getting told what to do just felt like a nagging parent.

the reason this game is so special is not because of the amazing graphics it's because of how much care the developers put into making every single object and item touchable and interactable.you're not putting your hand through any machines that are just there for decoration you're not putting your hands through any walls that aren't actually there everything is real.

I agree Lone Echo has a quality that makes it extra special. The atmosphere is great and the ease of movement means there's very little to intrude upon your immersion. It's an exciting game with a mystery that you legitimately care about. I haven't discovered a VR game yet that re-captures that 'wow' factor. RoboRecall is great fun, but it's not very deep. It seems weird and immersion breaking that I can’t change my orientation on any axis by twisting with my wrist. Although I fires if they did that with realistic physics you might end up accidentally spinning a lot and get really sick. Minor quibbles though. The game is phenomenal. wow, how could anybody, even new to vr, or still considering getting into vr, not have heard of lone echo? great game. one of the only AAA feeling games out there, with a long story. and there is a second one on the way too.

I was not aware of this game, so Thank You !
Pricy ? Nope, DCS World flight sim has cost
Me a thousand dollars for all the planes, helicopters, and maps. Then the pedals and
hotas were $700 never mind the 2080Ti.
I recently purchased Boneworks, and I find
it odd that I can do the flight sim for a few
hours, but Boneworks strains my eyes, and
that strain lasts for hours after just an hour
    or so.
Thanks again for sharing, I will look into it

I just built my new rig and picked up an Oculus Rifts s. I bought Lone echo and Robo Recall. I agree man, Lone Echo was amazing! The story, the graphics, the game is a new standard for VR. Now I cant wait for Stormlands!

Thank you for this video. Been playing Echo Arena for almost 2 years now and when I tell people about this game they have no idea what I am talking about. Hopefully this gets more interest from people who have never heard of this game.

I never thought the story line was slow at all. It just blew my mind when Olivia went missing that how the story just shifted into gear suddenly.
This and Wilson's Heart was my mind changer about VR.
    Great video 👍

Yeah I personally didn't thing the story was slow, but from the people I did talk to that lost interest in the game, that was their complaint

I guess the reason many people don't really know too much about Lone Echo is cause it's an Oculus exclusive. I suppose there's Revive, but I think there's still a lot of people who don't bother going that far. I haven't. I was planning on checking out more of the Oculus exclusives once I got the Oculus Link Headset Cable, but it's been out of stock for eons now.
Edit: And yeah, you covered towards the end of the video. :'D

I adore lone echo, I got it the day I bought vr, didn't really touch it beyond the first 30 minutes. But then maybe a month or two later I played it again and fell in love, I stopped just as I reached the ship, went back to it a week or two ago (6months) after the last pkay through and finished it. And holy hell was it an amazing experience all over again. By far my favourite story driven experience in vr and even in gaming for a long while

Personally for me Blade and Sorcery was really what showed me how amazing Vr combat could be. I had a really cheap set up with a lenovo explorer (I regret my life decisions) and even that showed me that a good game with solid combat, mod support and a TON of potential in Vr existed and It got me excited for what could possibly come. I downloaded one mod and it made me play it every day after work for a solid 3 hours at max. Like B&S is pretty simple when it comes to stuff you can do and for some reason I kept coming back and finding new ways I could kill baddies and then one lightning mod made me basically only play that game. Aaaand then one day my headset broke :( big sad

Lone Echo is the best VR I played as well. It didn't, however, stop me from selling my Oculus because the screen door was so bad on my eyes. Waiting for an HD/4K version at least to come out. Yes, the tech is there. Yes, I will pay $3000+ for it.

Its certainly one of the best vr games, my favourite is resident evil 7, just wish it was on pcvr as ps4 doesnt do it justice graphics wise. But still the best psvr game imo. Fallout 4 gets slated a lot because of performance but once u get it running as u want its defo in my top 5 vr games. Skyrim is up there as well 🙂

I rate RE7 up there with this as well as far as being a great game but Lone Echo takes far more advantage of VR. If only RE7 would just add hand tracking and come to PCVR it would be much better, I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

Rebel Assault, Diablo, Unreal, Half-Life 1 and 2, Far Cry, GTA V and Crysis are my Games where i felt a new generation of Games is coming. In VR felt that in Lone Eco, The LAB (bow-shooting), Onward and SuperHot ...looking forward for Half Life Aylex :-)

While it doesn't fully utilize VRs potential in some senses, Hello Games has done a phenomenal job bringing that masterpiece to VR, and though Lone Echo is still up there as the best all-around VR title, No Man's Sky is the one I spend my time in now.
      Two points.
      1) NMS on PCVR is amazing once you've dialed in the highest playable graphical settings for you system.
      2) NMS on PC absolutely requires the need of your regularly (after each play session if you did much at all) backing up the st_######… folder that's found here - C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\HelloGames\NMS
hint: you have to show hidden folders in the View section of the file explorer options to see the AppData folder.
