Yep call me old school, that is such a nice feature on the F80, the old analog styling. You get a little of the modern with the touch screen but the old gauges and clickable buttons are the shit. I cannot handle new cars and their 75 inch LCD dash screens & infotainment screens.
I was seriously considering an M3 CS and after seeing the dislikes about the car I am now just leaning more towards the base M3. The keyless entry is always something I wanted on the car. Rear vents isn’t a big problem for myself but I think it’s just in my best interest for my passengers. I’m really glad I watched this video before purchasing my next car.
Sorry to be so offtopic but does any of you know a method to log back into an instagram account?? I was dumb lost my login password. I would love any tricks you can give me.
@Kyree Eugene i really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and Im trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
nice vid. no keyless entry is my biggest problem with the car. You take for granted how convenient it is when you go from a car with to a car without. Also, the transmission is a little clunky in 1st gear at low MPHs like when in parking lots. But I will say at around 100K its worth it (maybe not 115k) as the car is night and day better than a regular f80/f82. I think some people focus on the minimal horsepower gain but forget about all the components that went into the car adding up to something completely different and upgraded from the competition.
I hate keyless entry. I had that in my E92 M3 and F80 comp and I DONT HAVE IT IN MY TAYCAN and I love that!! This 2018 M3 CS might be the most exciting car I have ever driven and I have driven quite many. I was very close to buy one used in 2019 but backed off just before decision, it was 169 000 eur in Finland. But its fantastic to drive and without doubt would take it over a standard G80 Competition.
I agree about the keyless entry, arm rest and tech features. Don’t think the weight savings are worth it. As for the paint, just wrap it with XPEL Stealth and you don’t have to worry about scratches etc. The color is amazing, and it’s an expensive car, so a $4-5K wrap would be money well spent. Btw the car looks amazing!!!
My Guy! I was born in the 80s. This is the last of the proper analogue cars with real speedos. This is a LIKE. I have Lime Rock grey as not brave enough to go frozen. I hate dual climate. Its my car and my temp, who splits the temp? Key less entry makes it easier to steal in the UK. I have owned for 3 weeks and it ticks all the boxes.
Well the reason so many things are just "outdated" is, it‘s not a daily driver. You drive this thing when you really want to, so something like the gauges (which I think is cool that they are still analog), iDrive, A/C, middle console or no keyless go are pretty much irrelevant. I like it that it has none of those "modern" features.
My commentary is more so how $100K+ vehicles today have fancy tech that this lacks. To some that is better and I totally get it. But for me it felt dated... I’d get a classic M3 for an analog type experience.
They made 1200 units and charged £20k more for it. i doubt the profit changed anyone's life at BMW. Its the little touches that add up. eg 2 oil pumps and carbon prop shaft.
@@JM-wi7jj I see your point 👍🏻 I just regret this choice personally. It probably made sense for BMW. It‘s still a pity. Would‘ve been awesome to get the CS as a manual.
@@JM-wi7jj 😂😂😂😂. Even my old E92 run neck to neck with an E60 M5. This leaves it in the dust. I love the S85 though, it's maybe the most exciting engine in a car I have ever driven. Feels much faster than 4.6 sec to 100 km/h.
I had the F80 Competition for almost 3 years and after driving this the difference was huge. Just didn't have the money to buy one. If I would have, I would have bought the CS instantly.
I think your approach is a bit weird since the car isnt meant to be the comftable daily driver but the sportier version so obviosly theyre gonna reduce weight and maybe have some less options to make it faster on track
I think the CS models are way to over priced for what you get. If im going to pay for a car that costs 100k i expect it to have at least more than 500 hp not 450 like a competition model.
I agree I feel a normal competition pack f80 is better value but the reason BMW charged this much for the CS is because it is a very limited and rare car with high demand which allowed BMW to drive up the price
The things you hate arent even that big of a deal. I had a 1 of 1 individual fully loaded every single option including carbon ceramics. Going to a CS not having the cameras, keyless entry, and armrests is no big deal at all.
Great vid. Couldn't agree more about the gauge cluster on the F8x generations. I cant stand how dated it looks especially considering direct competitors have been doing digital ones for years by that point. Im strongly considering buying an F8x in the future but that would be high on the list of reasons that would make me reconsider.
I think this old style gauge cluster beats all digital ones "one million to zero". This looks so classic and beautiful. I would love to have this on my Taycan.

Whhha man the analog cluster is my favorite part about the f80/82 platform
Last of the real layouts

Best looking M3 ever. Love to the F series
It is 100%

Don’t get a base!
I am shocked that it doesn't have keyless entry.
Seriously... not even an option to come equipped that way!
Surprised the brakes squeak! And... TIL there is a touch screen. Turns out my M2 does too. Hah
@@KitsCars high performance brakes squel because they are made for track aka high operating speed. When they are cold they will squel

Amen
Gotta be honest, your things you hate list is a serious deal breaker for me. Glad I watched your video first, thanks again
Glad it was helpful!
The worst thing about the CS version is the lack of a manual transmission...

sounds like m3 executive package was more fit for you. good vid tho
Is that the sound from a standard CS car?
Yes it is. Fully stock except for a few extra Carbon Fiber parts.
Love this car! Wish they put the v10 engine in this one though
I have E60 M5 also and in a straight line the V10 will out pull the M3 CS. it beats and or keeps up with ANYTYHING. Including ferrrari 599

Very good content. I agree for the price I can't justify purchasing for 100k

I’d say go for the M4 GTS if it’s not a daily. I have a few friends with M3 CS’s who all daily drive them tbh.
First thing to do after getting a BMW with frozen paint is to PPF it asap!

Nope, they never offered the CS in manual

I think for the F30 you can buy an aftermarket digital cluster but I'm not sure if one for the F80 has been developed yet. Maybe an opportunity there
I think this old style gauge cluster beats all digital ones "one million to zero". This looks so classic and beautiful. I would love to have this on my Taycan.

Fkn hell mate sorry your majesty

Great USED value. Otherwise brand new is Porsche $
Fantastic used value!
Take the car And get it wrapped clear wrap you'll enjoy even more

i see where abosf80 got his car
I prefer M4. M3 looks like daily drive.
Good video. Missing allot of options
Beautyful car! But that sound😓

What job do you have that allows you to afford this??? Wow car does seem way overpriced. Maybe someday I can find a regular used F80 M3.
Work hard, play hard!
Digital cluster is just a gizmo for geeks. Pointless. Lack of 360 view in performance car? What a shame! How any1 on the earth can park it now?
But I’m a geek! I love tech in modern cars. I get the enjoyment for lack of tech in the classic cars I purchase.
Beautiful car but the price is mind-boggling. A Camaro SS 1LE or mustang Mach 1 delivers close performance at half the price.
$114,995? I could buy at least 4 practical easy and cheap to fix cars with kind of money.
then why are you here, go watch videos about toyotas.
