Firstly thank you for this overview of the M cars - particularly the M3cs. In the intervening period between this video and now, I made a decision to move out of my 5th Audi (B6, RS4, A4 Tdi, A6 biturbo) to a BMW - first time since 1974 when i bought a 3.0Si (you may not even remember it!). So I was heading for an Audi S4 - but when I saw the dumbing down of this model, I then saw the release of the M340i BMW. I inquired about the touring version and then drove the saloon, then immediately ordered the first import to NZ of the M340i touring xdrive. I have now owned it for 5 months. It is the best car I have ever had - (including the B7 Audi RS4.) It is a phenomenal product in fact I think it is the pick in the BMW range value for money. Your designers have produced an incredible engine in that B58 - the power and torque curves are perfect for what I use the car. The sliding cams combined with the control mechanism make this engine a complete standout. You still produce the best motors. (Even in 1974 they were pretty revolutionary!). And the sound - awesome. Well done! I'm back!

Good choice on the M340i. But just a correction, we don't work for BMW :) So they are not our designers :)

It's about time. Comfort seems to be the key formula BMW missed. So, it's no surprise that potential BMW owners would find the M5 CS amazing.
BMW for a long time lost the knack they had with their old 535i.
In case, BMW haven't noticed most people seek that magic carpet-like ride.
Even in the bike world, the Colnago C40 was ultimate!
Why? Even through cobblestones, it offered a magic carpet-like ride.
It is a shame what BMW been putting out. Their x3 seats and M3 seats were horrible.
No lower back support and sparsely padded cushions with no shoulder support and horrendous lower back support.
I am convinced BMW does not know how to make seats at all.
They should contract with Recaro or Sparco.
The best seats that are standard in the market...Volvo, Benz, Audi, Porsche and even VW.
They have absolutely no problem proving customers the best seats out there.
BMWs $10k + racing buckets are a joke when Sparco SPX and Recaro makes superior anatomically seats for less.
    BMW doesn't care.
By now, a car enthusiasts would know, the best suspension available predominantly come with Nitrogen filled enclosures whether it is coilovers like Nitron R3 or the Citroen's spheres.
Even Rolls Royce, Bentley and even McClaren were wise enough to contract with Citroen to offer the best suspension ...out there.
Approximately 2018 Citroen dropped the Active pneumatic suspension.
Did BMW pick it up to revolutionize it?
    Nope. They did absolutely nothing.
The pneumatic suspension was one of the most advanced suspension of all time at anywhere.
However, BMW was quick to release the most dangerous turn signal design of all time.
They were in line to release red turn signal lamps.
They were always on the bandwagon to break safety traditions to implement dangerous trends.
So, to believe BMW care about comfort or safety?
    I would say ...no.

My post wasn't geared for the donkey level mindset.
My post was for real world issues. You obviously never delved into the automotive forums. There are plenty of issues and complaints. Cars are far from perfect. That's why they have "recalls."
There is a lawsuits against car makers moving simple air conditioning controls to the touchscreen. It highlights the astoundingly level of senselessness these CEO, engineers, and production managers can be.
You are way too somple-minded to understand ..poorly designed functions/ can place many lives in danger.
With buttons, you can feel, you don't have to take your ryes off the road.

I never had to fight such dangerous a stupid turn signal stalks in my life. Horrible implementation.
I used to wonder why so many BMW drivers don't use their turn signals on the highway.

    • @bmwblog
      @bmwblog  Рік тому

      What's wrong with the stalks?

    • @n.prince2458
      @n.prince2458 Рік тому

@@bmwblog They require too much finese. They are way too sensitive. You tap it down to go left. It will put up a resistance and you must tap it even harder. Only by then, you realize the effort you made was too much, so you attempt to ginger your steps and tap it the other direction ever so slightly....
Nope, too much effort then the signal go the other direction.
BMW attempted to make a more efficient stalks allowing it to blink the signals 3x, but the implementation is awful.
It requires too much focus on the highway at high speeds.
BMW drivers are notorious for not using their signals for that specific reason.
It is a hair raising experience. It forces to trade losing your focus on driving or fighting the signals to do what is naturally anticipated with every other car manufacturer.
It is a horrendous departure from the traditional stalk operations.
If you are going to do something different, it ought to be for the better, not the worse.
      That, plus red blinking taillights?
A formula for disaster. It can cause death. I nearly loss my life on a few occasions fighting that complicated thing.
It should have been a class action lawsuit.
      This guy explains it, here:
      m.ua-cam.com/video/cJy3VSocAbE/v-deo.html
Plus my 4 year old x3 has the dangerous "red" color taillight signal.
These engineers must be on drugs!
Why should courts and petitions demand BMW to do their job?
Somethings traditional in cars, must never be changed. They were decided by a community of superior old school folks.
Let this guy articulate the dangerous trend of red turn signals:
      m.ua-cam.com/video/O1lZ9n2bxWA/v-deo.html
Only our creator knows how many dangerous accidents BMW have caused.
If I could choke these horrible decision making bodies in BMW, I probably would.
I am hated by so many drivers and I know I used my signals.
Nowadays, I must use the horns, too, to make drivers aware I am about to change my lane.
BMW are clearly aren't leaders in automobile s.
They clearly have no evaluation checklist.
Its bad enough they deprive drivers from a manual (stickshift)...when India already created the best of both worlds best E-Clutch.
BMW's research department doesn't care about people...their only concern is profits.
