  • In this video, I will show you how I shoot Kodak Gold 200 film with an Intrepid 4x5 camera and a DayI 6x17 back. Kodak Gold 200 is a color negative film that has a warm and nostalgic look, perfect for capturing the beauty of nature and landscapes. It has a fine grain, good exposure latitude, and natural skin tones. The Intrepid 5x4 is a lightweight and affordable large format camera that allows you to use different lenses and movements to create stunning images. The DayI 6x17 back is a panoramic film holder that lets you shoot 6x17 cm images on 120 or 220 film, giving you a wide and immersive perspective.
In this video, I will take you through the process of setting up the camera, loading the film, metering the light, composing the shot, and developing the film. I will also share some tips and tricks on how to get the best results from this combination of film and camera. A leap back into photography after a few years out, this time with a difference
Before I lost my passion it was all about the mega pixels and sensor size, and I became all consumed with getting "the shot", instead of enjoying the location, the walk, the company, this time however its different, its about the adventure and going back to the beginning, relearning film in 35mm, 120mm medium format and 4x5 large format.
If you enjoy the great outdoors, then this is the channel for you, I offer free walk guides to suit most, photo/walk guide coffee table zines, limited addition photography prints, and photo books
Each print is limited to 50, and will be numbered and signed.

Have you found any limitations on your 4x5 using a 6x17 adapter back? I am looking at one and possibly a 120-150mm lens to pair with it. I hear there are focal length limitations with the adapter over say a Shen Hao 617 native camera.

I thought 6*17 was only possible using a 5*7 I guess I am wrong .. nice shots anyway, and the colours are quite neutral in comparison to what you see when taking in the blazing California sun, which shows how good a film stock it is and how flexible it is .. did you develop or do you send to a lab?

It’s not as ideal as a dedicated 6x17 camera but it does work well 👍 I tend to develop everything myself as I like the process of it, but now and again I will send it off, when developing at home I use the Cinestill C41 kit and are generally happy with the results I get
