Hey y'all, I wanted to drop in and say thank you for all the love this video has gotten! I worked 2 months on it for the Halloween deadline as a personal goal to do something I hadn't yet attempted. Its nice to know that my effort hadn't gone unnoticed! Yeah, we all got lost in these very rooms lol. I have no idea what I'd do without the fast travel (apart from just jumping off the map). Though after watching a few videos on b3313, I started getting the hang of navigating this abomination of a castle
yep lol and my god it was the most fun I've had in a while, confusing exploration games just hit different, makes you feel the same way when people find new islands, anything uncharted and feels unexplored is just so interesting.

Now THIS is horror, no sudden jumpscares, no “START RUNNING” Or any of that crap, just peach going insane and the BETA MUSIC helps so much to give off the creepy vibe, this is amazing!
She should have turned back when she started to hear "THIS CASTLE IS EXCLUSIVE TO THE SHOW. IT'S CONNECTED TO A VARIETY OF WORLDS. SO OPEN THE DOORS AHEAD AND GET ADVENTURING!"

One of the coolest b3313 animations I've ever seen! This could serve as an interesting backstory on how Peach got lost in the castle and thus why we never see her in the romhack ever.(at least not alive I think.) Man, this makes my b3313 obsessed mind so happy!
Great job! This animation would make for an excellent trailer for B3313 come to think of it. It really sets the tone and attracts attention. It makes me want to go back and play it again. I also want to really appreciate that you didn’t really add a strong jump scare noise on the painting transition; it makes the cut back to peaches letter ever so much more effective and scarier by letting the viewer process what happened. Meanwhile, peaches scream is just heartbreaking and sad and just… exhausted, using the sadder motif of eternal fort to transition the theme of the animation briefly to sadness. The transition to other strong emotions then back to a reserved situation driven horror shows confidence and is just a mastercraft of horror storytelling. Looking forward to whatever you do next!
Maaan, this was a delight to come across - never would have thought I'd find something capturing the creepy uncanniness of B3313 so well. Peach being the focus here for such terrifying perspective is really incredible too. (Wild to think you also did that short with Peach's laugh before btw)
Honestly love this, its awesome and feels like a lore piece. peach was the castles first victim, bowser as well. And now mario and luigi, a endless cycle will truly end until the game is closed.
I love this! It sort of contextualizes B3313 in a way that gives Mario incentive to explore the corrupted castle and try to figure out what's going on. I personally feel more incentivized than ever to complete this game
I’d absolutely love to see many more of these animations in the future. B3313 holds a special place in my heart, the mystery, anxiety, joy, and fear that come from this game alone are top notch. This video has rejuvenated the feeling of mystery I got when I first played B3313 and I’m just on the edge of my seat for more. Love this so much! Can’t even express how much!

Even though its just fictional horror, i love the concept and idea of B3313 and the Castle Plexus I like to think that someone sealed some dangerous creature away in the castle walls or a painting, not knowing they would unintentionally give it the ability to now morph and distort the rooms and hallways to lure victms and trap them in the castle, forever keeping them there. This person (Maybe some Toad, or even Peach’s ancestor) might’ve tried to warn the residents of the castle once they realized their mistake of trapping a literal demon inside of a castle, but got lost in the castle once this entity began to form those long, strange rooms and hallways, and soon succumbed to dehydration and hunger, and became the first victim of the castle. The entity would also create new paintings or something, even to worlds beyond their dimension in order to send unsuspecting people into these dangerous worlds after they were trying to find and escape Bowser mightve learnt of this, and tried to use it to his advantage in order to try and capture Peach, but him and his army also got lost in the castle unaware of how dangerous and ruthless this entity was Gosh this sounds like a cheesy horror story lmao. But still, the Castle Plexus is such a cool idea imo
Wow. Seriously amazing job with this. As others have said, this would be such a good trailer for B3313. It made me feel the goal of the game is no longer to save Peach. She is long gone to the whims and destructive forces of the internal plexus. The player goes to the castle hoping to save her, but learns along the way that the goal is to save themselves from the ever-evolving AI.
This is incredible! The idea of the ghost peach/paintings in b3313 being immortalized versions of Peach getting lost herself before you enter is awesome. Keep it up, AMAZING work!!

In my head, I came up with a headcanon where the development team behind super Mario 64 was going through a living hell, and in their spare time would meditate releasing an awful demon manifested from all of the despair on video game programming, especially for 3d being new for the time. Naturally, the demon gets revenge by possessing the former beta build, and turns it into b3313... This is how I picture they would take action on peach first. Well done!

I just found this and wow I love this! I love how a in universe character is experiencing these oddities. We fortunately have the context that this is a beta build with personalized AI(forgive me if I’m wrong 😅) but to her their world is changing and alive and she can’t seem to find a way to explain it.
Since no one else seems to be commenting on this I’d like to point out the empty picture frame at 2:03 with a silhouette of Peach in it to foreshadow her fate.
And it’s even at 2:15 as well, so maybe my prior observation is incorrect. It appears the Peach silhouette is a different entity altogether, following Peach and waiting for her to become vulnerable enough to strike. You lovely person, you have made such a well thought out animation for such a well thought out hack. Truly amazing!

I feel like this is a good prequel to b3313 that sets up the plot to the game showing how the personalization AI did something to Peach and how it ended up changing the castle once it's added. I love how at the end, the castle changes to the beta castle.

This is incredible! I just beat B3313 1.0, and it's one of the best Mario experiences I've ever had. This video totally captures the unsettling feeling it gives me.
This explaining story or cutscene seems to be connecting and giving a sequel feeling to the original game. After getting saved by Mario from Ultimate Bowser, Peach became happy to be home with her Toads. But something is off. The castle seems to change rooms by rooms. So, she explored. But everything became only stranger, larger, darker, creepier and even confusing. Then, Peach realized that the castle is alive. But before she can stop all of this, it was too late. She screamed for help but no one is there. The castle completely possessed her as it changes it's whole form both exterior and interior. I think the castle's transformation changed Mario to his beta form. In the other hand, the castle must have brought Beta Mario and deleted the original Mario using the multiverse that might have be the reason for the castle and it's normal areas to still appear but in a different form. This is not Bowser's work, or the castle's, but it must be an mysterious entity is inside the castle that making this all happen.
in the scene where peach had a breakdown in 4th floor i was thinking “actually you can get outside the castle by going to the farther door on the left, going forward, around the curved hallway, take a right, go forward some more, and go through the door at the end” i think i have played this game too much lol the castle grounds are different at the end though, showing the b3313 one instead of the vanilla one, so maybe it’s not the real castle grounds in this film
Peach mentions how the castle gradually changes, maybe it changed to the b3313 one? Idk the argument could be made there are multiple castles but how this would work is lost on me.

My personal interpritation of B3313 is that the power stars were the cause and not anything in the real world. The power stars just ended up becoming so powerful the castle was given life and was outright evil, creating a moth trap for mario, luigi and bowser. The castle power becoming so grand it became a 4th wall breaking cosmic horror abomination.

No thats definitely different, I would recognize that insignia, i wonder what it means. They must have been hard at work changing the rooms around since last time i took the princess huh, no matter though. Wait...I've...I've already been here....i think? These rooms are huge! there's no way her castle is this big! It definitely wasn't on the outside!! [Bowser wanders around for days, eventually forgetting where he was and why he was there. He encounters the bowser bedroom area from b3313 1.0] Home at last! I dont even remember what i was doing today! Oh well i should sleep, ill remember in the morning. [And then in bowser's sleep, he gets consumed by the AI in the same way that peach was
heeey I just wanted to tell you that your video is amazing ! I love B3313 and I think your story fit very well with the game. Love the part when you see Peach wandering in different rooms of the castle which feels every time stranger and creepier. I like how she seems to be very little in these giant rooms. Also the fact that it all start in one place with the hallway being larger and darker, it reminds me of the House of Leaves, with the fact that she goes deeper and deeper ad seems to get lost... Amazing work !

That really was some good analogue horror here. I love how B3313 is a totaly mystery. Not matter how often I played it, it always reveals something new to me. You really put it in well in your animation!
B3313 is a hack that I've always taken for a prolog sort of hack, like as if Mario 64 the base game took place after it, I know that's not the case and I know the hack is based off of Classified in some sense, but...the way the game feels it's like Mario and Luigi were invited to the castle _while_ it was being constructed, and somehow Bowser managed to get ahold of not _just_ power stars, but something more dangerous.

the castle grounds are different at the end though, showing the b3313 one instead of the vanilla one, so maybe it’s not the real castle grounds in this film
But there are like a million ways to get to the vanilla lobby

Peach mentions how the castle gradually changes, maybe it changed to the b3313 one? Idk the argument could be made there are multiple castles but how this would work is lost on me.

My personal interpritation of B3313 is that the power stars were the cause and not anything in the real world. The power stars just ended up becoming so powerful the castle was given life and was outright evil, creating a moth trap for mario, luigi and bowser. The castle power becoming so grand it became a 4th wall breaking cosmic horror abomination.
So basically in the interpretation it's
"KILL THE CASTLE BY COLLECTING POWER STARS"
I'm sorry but the painting near the end gave me "Extremely Lucky" vibes

Im on my way to kidnap the princess try to take over the Mushroom Kingdom again, i sure hope those pesky plumbers dont get in the way!! Just gotta rush into the castle, find Peach, take her hostage, and go back to World 8, peice of cake!!! Huh, the castle looks different from a distance, they must have remodeled. No thats definitely different, I would recognize that insignia, i wonder what it means.

heeey I just wanted to tell you that your video is amazing ! I love B3313 and I think your story fit very well with the game. Love the part when you see Peach wandering in different rooms of the castle which feels every time stranger and creepier. I like how she seems to be very little in these giant rooms. Also the fact that it all start in one place with the hallway being larger and darker, it reminds me of the House of Leaves, with the fact that she goes deeper and deeper ad seems to get lost...

B3313 is a hack that I've always taken for a prolog sort of hack, like as if Mario 64 the base game took place after it, I know that's not the case and I know the hack is based off of Classified in some sense, but...the way the game feels it's like Mario and Luigi were invited to the castle _while_ it was being constructed, and somehow Bowser managed to get ahold of not _just_ power stars, but something more dangerous.
