PLEASE LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE!!! It's time to fix the transmission crossmember I broke. I come up with a new design, build it, and then test it out with some burnouts.
I did the exact same shape/design on my OBS C1500 for header clearance (factory straight crossmember literally centered my full length headers) but I just bent a 6’ piece of 1.5” 120 wall DOM tubing into basically that same shape and cut it to length once done. Centered it on a mounting plate on each end and welded it in. Then just added the tab for the transmission mount pad. Has held up well for a year behind a 650hp 496ci bbc and 4L80E! I didn’t have the 6 weeks to wait for Dirty Dingo to get one to me. Nice work sir👌🏻
@@kalemullikin when I saw you say you bent the pipes for your exhaust I was thinking “why not bend the tubing for the crossmember as well”. I know pipe is alot different than 120 wall tubing but my exhaust guy is who I got to bend mine AS I built it and he completed my exhaust system 🤷🏻♂️ Either way, you came up with a nice piece, not to mention a cool little truck in general 😎
Thank you! I'm not familiar with what a g80 locker is, but it is just the stock limited slip that came in the Ford 8.8. I did recently buy an Eaton Truetrac to upgrade it though.
Hey bro how's it going question how much would you charge to build a Trans crossmember for a 1997 s10 pickup transmission is 6l80 I live in Tallahassee FL where you from
I appreciate you reaching out! Unfortunately I don't think I'll be competitive against one you could but online. But happy to discuss more if you'd like. Send me an email at kalemullikin@gmail.com.
I just used the stock S10 slave cylinder and a new stock master cylinder for the T56. Nothing fancy. I haven't tried powershifting it yet. Still a little nervous to break something in the new trans.
Hey man, found your channel tonight and I’ve been watching all of your videos. I just bought a 98 s10 with a recently rebuilt 2.2L with a 4l60E transmission and have been enjoying it a lot other than the fact that the EGR valve tube exploded into two. I had to temporarily fix that with heat resistant aluminum tape until I can go to a junkyard and find a replacement since a 2.2 EGR valve tube is sold literally no where. Ever since that exploded, the truck kind of misfires and I’m trying to learn more about vehicles because my dads a huge mechanic and races his 89’ lx mustang but he won’t help me. My question is do you think that the misfire could be caused by bad spark plugs, fuel pump, fuel filter?
Thanks for watching! My guess would be that there is a leak where you temporarily fixed the tube thats causing the computer to do some funny things. I would fix that before you spend time and money on something else. Doesnt really sound fuel supply related to me. Hope that helps!
Awesome job badass truck
Thank you!!
"Burn outs'll do!" 😁
That's a great phrase for merchandise!
I'll definitely have to keep it in mind!

Thank you so much! Unfortunately I don't have the capability to bend tubing right now. Hopefully soon though

What did you do for the hydraulics for the clutch. ? Can you powershift it if you drive that way?
