Michael Bay is the frat bro of movie directors. He's vulgar, loud and everyone hates his antics, but you can't help but love his style and personality on occasion.
Exactly as much as I find the transformers movies besides the first one to be difficult I never really have a problem with all his films cause they like the fast and furious movies they know what they are.
He grinds my gears with that shite. I really enjoy Korey, but the disagreements, a la Malibu Most Wanted, have a an obvious discomfort in them. It's weird 😂
IGN said that this was "the most Michael Bay movie that he has ever made. And that Jake Gyllenhaal is chewing the scenery so much that he needs a new set of dentures." That tells me all I need to know about this movie
"Can you use my name once?" "I forgot it" I was laughing hard during the entire run of "Brother" jokes the DT crew was doing, But that one got me dying over here. Always can count on Billy for the Hardest Laughs from me and from himself.
I freaking loved this movie, saw it twice and man. It was a good time at the movies. Great performances and it’s a Michael Bay movie, it was one of his best. Love your stuff!!!
Jake Gyllenhaal and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II are the reasons I want to see the movie. I like both actors, it's Rated R and it looks like one of the Michael Bay movies I can sort of focus on, when it's not doing "Zoomies" as Korey called it lol.
Fun fact about "The Island" Michael Bay actually stole the idea from a film called "Parts-The Clonus Horror" which was directed by Robert S Fiveson in 1979. The film was riffed by Mystery Science Theater 3000 in 1997. When the MST3k fans saw the trailer to the Island, they contacted Fiveson and told him about the movie, he sued Michael Bay and the studio. They settled out of court, he was given credit, and thanked MST3k and the fans.

When I think of GTA like films, the one that always springs to mind is 1999’s Payback. But, were there to be a legit, big screen adaptation of the franchise, Micheal Bay would probably be the best bet to direct. Either him or David Leitch.

I remember watching The Island in my AP Literature class because we were reading “Brave New World” and “Never Let Me Go” and it fell in line with the themes. I didn’t hate the movie I just didn’t care for it. I also felt the acting was bad in certain areas. I am a fan of the first three transformers movies and 13 Hours was great. But as a whole, I just find Michael Bay movies boring. So much is happening that you become numb to the action on screen. I guess I had high hopes for AmbuLAnce because I’ve been on this search for ‘End of Watch 2’. Anytime I see a police procedural movie based in LA, I have the high hopes that that is going to be the one to top End of Watch, but it never does
He's great in ' The Sarah Connor Chronicles' and a bunch of other stuff as well. Super underrated actor. Also still happily married to the awesome Michelle Hurd.
This movie gave me training day vibes with how tight the script was and how everything contributed to the plot. Every character regardless of role did well.
It feels weird to say it, but apparently it takes someone like Michael Bay to truly embrace and push the boundaries of what is not only possible, but sensible to do with drones. Regardless of the final results, he's doing things I'd be hard pressed to say I've seen anywhere else before. Not in something that comes anywhere close to the profile of an actual, mainstream, released in cinema's summer blockbuster at the very least... Sure, they might be world champion POV drone racers, but neither drone-cameramen had any real professional filming experience, hell one of them was only 19 years old at the time of filming. Who else but Micheal Bay would then tell them to just go fly multiple thousand dollar drones through the middle of stunts and explosions in the only take they have to get the footage they want. Makes me excited for what the future holds as the techniques, skill and technology behind this type of camerawork matures and is guided by the hands of more capable and restrained directors.
Taking Of Pelham 1,2,3 has one of my favorite movie endings, period. It is a great flick. The 70's did have a lot of flicks like this, the best ones in fact..a lot of them have already been remade..poorly.
I agree that the concept of the line “we will get home” is not literally home just get away and deal with it. There is no way these guys would not face criminal charges after: robbing a bank, taking hostages, shooting a cop; evading police etc.. I really enjoyed it and I am not a Micheal Bay fan either but I love Jake and Eiza and they did not make it cliche were she falls for Jake’s character. No Stockholm syndrome but I think Jake’s character did like her. She wasn’t having it! 🤷🏻♀️🤨💕😊

This movie was painful to watch. Just useless. They had so many times to escape and leave that ambulance, but well. They just had to force the story. Plus Will is that guy you never persuade to a party cause they will make it suck with their on and off morality.
A stupid movie for a such a good action actor Jake G. He calls his crime partner by first name throughout the crime. He covered in powder in one scene then clean in the next. Poorly made. The cameraman spins the camera around the whole movie.. Maybe he's getting an Oscar for jump cuts and flares... It try's hard to be like the movie Speed, where they cant seem to ditch the Ambulance... want a good movie watch End of watch, The Prisoner, or Nightcrawler three excellent films with Jake G....
