Twelve is hands-down my favorite of the modern era. He really embodies the "Nice is different than good," idea because he can be quite bristly, especially early on, to the point that he spends a whole season wondering if he's actually a good man. Capaldi is also an actor so capable of commanding the screen that he had an entire episode where he was (almost) the only speaking role, and it's considered one of the greats. I'm not 100% here, but I think "crisps" refers to what we in the US call "chips," generally, while "chips" refers to what we call "French fries." Took me a while to adjust to that, so I get it.
The old guy at the end was indeed one of the older doctors, in fact, it’s the first doctor. Obviously it’s not the same actor though as the original one, William hartnell, passed away
Peter Capaldi is one of my favourite Doctors and the best out of NuWho IMO. The old guy you mentioned is David Bradley who was Walder Frey in GOT and the gatekeeper in the Harry Potter films. He played The First Doctor in one of Capaldi's episodes due to the death of original actor William Hartnell who died in 1975 and was one of Capaldi's favourite Doctors growing up.
Worth mentioning that he got the part of the First Doctor because he had been in a TV movie about the production of the first three seasons *as* Hartnell!
He is very good, but they all have their moments... for example the 10th has a whole "fury of a timelord" bit in which he rains down BRUTALLY on aliens that have hurt ones he loved... the 11th is probably the most comedic but still has his moments!!
When he claims to be the original doctor, the lore is this: In the Doctor Who universe, there are stories of a man that goes around healing the universe(The Doctor), and the reason we call our healers doctors, is BECAUSE of this "myth". He is quite literally, the first Doctor.
12 is my favourite doctor as unlike the other doctor's i think he has the equal balance of Human and alien: Eccleston (9th)- He too me had almost the right balance however a tiny bit too silly sometimes. Tennant (10th)- Way too human to me. He lacks the alien side as there's so much romance and emotion which to me was played over the top he just feels too human. (My least favourite doctor) Smith (11th) - He's good but sometimes lacks the emotions which can make him too alien. Capaldi (12th). To me he's got equal balance of human witch is gravitass as you mentioned and his sarcasm is what shows the alien side of him but it's never over the top and this both makes his doctor's very relatable. The way Capaldi is able to pull his acting of is just fantastic. His character development is the best in all of Morden who from S8-S10.To me he's alway going to be my favourite. Whitaker:(13th). She's decent and defientley has the alien side however like Smith i feel she is bit too alien not as much as Smith but apart from that fine Also Crisps are the generic term of what you guys call Chips (Chips mean french fries in UK) Also the other doctor with 12 is the 1st doctor however he's portrayed by David Bradley as the original actor William Hartnell that played the 1st had passed away. David bradley has also been in Harry potter (Filch) which might be where you also recongnize him from. (He also played a character in one of Matt Smith's doctor who episodes as one of the villans Solomon)

Still slightly disappointed that he didn't invite Clara into the TARDIS with a classic, "Come the fuck in or fuck the fuck off!"
I just watched that episode last night! 😂

Capaldi was an AMAZING Doctor. He's just so damned good at it.
Can't get mad at him, he's too good
12th is my favorite.
The best Doctor.

The old guy is David Bradley. Walder Frey from GoT.
My favourite Doctor!
Malcolm Tucker as the Doctor. Here we go!!
12 is my absolute favorite, classic and nuwho.
What. A. DOCTOR!! :D
Please watch the Craig Ferguson interview with Peter Capaldi. That was before he was in Dr Who.
7:42 Oliver! reference lol
Capaldi was a wonderful Doctor, wise, kind, irritable, funny , good without being "nice".
14:45 The original, you might say.
Its the first doctor
Am I young
No idea
I recommend you this video ua-cam.com/video/ysn7sMWjQ4g/v-deo.html with the Twelfth Doctor. Twelve is my favorite. Definitely 😍
As opposed to the vacuous, air-headed and ultimately pointless casting/acting of the 13th you mean?
No Jodie carried that whole season she was a great actor but Chris’s chibnalls scripts were atrocious
