Some great catches there Les, nice to see some vintage 37's earning their keep too. Glad the 68's also have some use now that TPE don't want them anymore.
Morning Leslie from a wet and chilly Belfast firm where I’m working this week so your videos keep me entertained lol 😂 Fantastic quality with a good mixture of trains as always 👍🏻 Love a Class 37 or any old BR loco as I was a train spotter in the 70s and loved the BR green & blue engine and especially before TOPS numbering lol 😁 Take and keep nice and warm while filming 🤣 Cheers Stevie
Hey, Leslie! A very cool mix again. COLAS is buying up everyone's old stock that DRS can't take. This was a "re-branding special." TPEs as DRS, CCs and Virgins as COLAS. And even a rake of old EMRs off to whatever their fate will be. Interesting catch on the inspection paper on the DRS, I think. Weird to see the paper just tucked there. Hopefully, it was chilly but not too cold. Pretty skies, nonetheless.
The ex-EMT stock is servicable but probably spare for the moment. The paper was the wagon label / despatch note - Freightl;iner would have loaded the wagons during permanent way works and taken them to the Yard. DRS then moving the wagons on to Crewe. It ws cold but got colder only a few days later! Thanks!
great video Les loved it some great captures there matey the tractors sounded awesome ,and the few 68 you managed to capture did'nt sound noisey to me ? im sure thats only an excuse by TPE they can't be noisier than a steam engine im know , these 3 car units 185 i think are only going to get packed , .but then thats how awful TPE are . nice to see the logs again not seen them for a while well done les top man thanks for sharing take care a t b Syd👍👌
I saw the whole HST set at the Locomotive Services depot at Crewe last year so they've been on the LSL stock for some time. The 43s from that set are repainted in Nanking Blue to match the Midland Pullman set,
Another lovely video leslie well done great camera work as always I am really enjoying your lovely videos and camera work keep your lovely camera work up I am really looking forward to seeing your next video I hope you get a nice video next time also when is your next video going to be on UA-cam bye for now Philip
Nice catch bud. Surprised about LSL new Depot at upperby never knew and seeing former lord Hinton with there collection. Hope drs keep 407 if they decide to sell her I hope they snap her up.
LSL bought the sidings from DB Cargo when, I believe, they were beaten to the deal to get sidings at St Rollox, Glasgow. Its taken over a year to get the track thats there in a decent shape.
Its has been scheduled that way for very many years. Its a class 6 freight and they usually go down the S&C - when they do go down the WCML its often from loop to loop as much faster trains have to pass.
I suspect DRS had only one working Class 88 until 88003 joined the line-up of demics. The double heading would have been either because of track conditions on Shap or the second loco was being moved from Gresty Bridge to Kingmoor.
Cheers Les, another good set of workings caught on cam. many thanks.
Thanks!
Nicely captured as always Les, I’ve featured many times on your channel now!
Thats good to know - say hi next time! Thanks
Good shots as usual Well done
Many thanks!
Great video Les, there is no better sound than a pair of 37's!
Definitely!
Another great video, I plan to come down to Carlisle early New Year if I see you or we did arrange to meet let me get you a coffee.
Sounds good! Thanks for watching
Great variety there Leslie. Nice to see and hear the 37's specially the one in green. All the best.
Thanks Tim!

Thanks! I wonder how long it'll be before DRS re-livery them. The ones used on ScotRail are still in ScotRail blue apart from the DRS Vinyls.

thanks for sharing take care a t b Syd👍👌
Glad you enjoyed it! Honestly those 68s were being driven cautiously, they can sound louder than a 37 in the right (?) hands!
I reckon that ex-EMR stock is a complete rake of from an HST minus the TGS 🤔

I suspect that the class 37s will still be in use in such rolls for a good 20 years yet just down the them being so reliable
It will be the likes of LSL and West Coast keeping the 37s running.
Nice to see 37409 back earning its keep! Sadly they ran 40 mins early so i missed the return
Sorry to hear that. I only saw the arrival as I wasn't sure what was to happen at Upperby.

Glad to see the Mk 3 stock going into storage rather than straight to a scrappers yard.
Locomotive Services have had them for a number of years but I suspect they were clogging up their sidings at Crewe

Thanks Leslie. Can see a structural change coming then there like crewe HS
Can anyone tell me why the Chirk train used the Settle & Carlisle, and not WCML?

Has the TESCO now gone diesel? I thought part of their saving CO2 slogan was because of electric haulage. Cost grounds?
