I was seriously thinking this might actually be something to help me fix my TV. Yes it has power, but it's black. Don't know if the backlight power supply is bad or the backlight itself. The "replace your TV" isn't really a fix for the problem. This isn't really a fix video, just a couple tips to ensure you actually have power. A better title might be "TV not turning on? Here's a few things to try."
I'll never buy an Element again. It's been a huge headache. Replaced a TCON board in it last night and it worked after 6 months of being broken. Got it mounted to the wall, all set up, then today it took a crap again.
Our TV came back by doing the Hard Reset both new batteries and pulling power plug from TV to wall source to wall outlet did not work. But the hard reset by pulling plug and holding power button on TV in for 30+ seconds. THANK YOU!!!!!
I hate to say but a new TV isnt an option for us rn, our screen is dim not black so trying these didnt seem to help brighten the screen. Its more like someone turned the brightness down to 50% instead of 100% so if you have any suggested fixed or solutions of any sort I'd appreciate it.
So my Element 50" will randomly stay black screen when turned on. It only happens after we have been out of the house and turn the AC down or off until we return. I'm convinced it's a heat/humidity problem as after a day or two with the AC back on it will work just fine
I’m kinda having this problem too but I’ll be watching tv and all of a sudden the screen goes black and you can still hear sound. Turn it off and turn it back on and it’s fine for a period of time (periods differ from 30 min. to a couple hrs.) I’ve tried unplugging and holding the power button and all connections are fine. Still doing the same thing. It is plugged into a power strip tho. Maybe that could be the problem? Everything else plugged in the strip works fine tho. The tv is about 1.5 yrs old too. Thx for any suggestions you might have. I will try plugging it into the wall if it’ll reach. lol
@@Reesetrain44 everything I read about that tv said it was the timer board. I opened it up and didn’t see one in it. lol. I seen the ir board and the motherboard but not the the timer. Nevertheless I threw that tv out and bought another one. Thx for the advice tho.
Nothing seemed to work for me, went 2 days with the tv being unusable, seems like it had something to do with the temperature when it got too hot it stopped working cooling the tv down made it work again
So. My element works. But everytime I go to turn it on when it turns off, it turns on for a split second then off again. I do this repeatedly, and then after 20 times it will stay on. Should I just get a new tv?
@Juan_Camacho thanks I tried the first two they did not work now that I've watched this video I will definitely try the power button for 30 seconds while the TV is unplugged. This TV has had no damage and it's practically brand-new. I don't understand why or how this could happen. Went to bed TV was fine woke up TV had black screen, the power turns on and off but I have no image on my cable box or Xbox x.

Get ready to laugh! I use my element 55 inch flat panel as a pc monitor. I can watch youtube movies and chat on the internet and see the fonts just fine. Yesterday, I went to the kitch. After about 5 minutes, the tv goes black to save power. I come back and move the mouse and the tv lights up again and I can watch a movie. If the movie plays and I leave it does not power down. If I pause the movie, it powers down after 5 minutes. I came back and moved the mouse and the red button turned blue. I saw it flash "Element" for a half a second and turned black screen. I tried and tried but it does the same thing. I LOVE this tv. I hate to part with it. When flat panels were around $1k or a bit cheaper, Walmart had a black friday sale for $209 about 10 yrs ago and I bought this . HA HA. So I am going to try the reset to see if that helps. Otherwise, I'm going to have to get a new flat panel. I went to the basement and got an old Dell flat panel that's about 17 inches. I have to use reading glasses and if I lay down the picture is hard to see. I see others have the logo showing up and then turning black again.
@@JuanCamacho21 I'm going berserk trying to buy a new tv. I see the price then see the reviews. 5 stars is 1,200 people. But 800 people voted 2 stars and 500 people voted 1 star. That's over half giving it only a 1-2 rating. So I pass. So many models "refurbished". I'm not buying a refurbished tv and I'm not buying that brand/model new either, only for it to go bad on me. A 55 element today is $299 but has horrible reviews.

the problem with these element's is there back lighting, the LCD panel is still very good just the backlight just doesn't seem to last

Day 3 black screen. ELEMENT = JUNK! DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT SPEND THE GRAND!

And keep in mind, its on but the screen just won't stay on. The blue light in the bottom indicated its on every time, but the screen isn't.

My almost brand new 19 inch element sound went out. About 20 min later , went black. Still powers on ...according to blue led on bottom but ...nuttin.
