it’s quite concerning the GFS model keeps indicating something nearby the gulf or Florida for the past what 4 days now just about also it’s sad that every MCS that enters louisiana tends to disappear by the time it arrives to me also mark WWLTV says 54% chance of a tropical storm or a hurricane hitting louisiana and 24% chance of a major hurricane
It's even more concerning that this is trending amongst all the models. And I know he said that the ECMWF is the outlier, but that's not the case. The operational model is not snowing it, but the ensembles, the EPS, is. In fact, the ECMWF was the first one to have a westward trend as it's starting to trend westward now amongst all the models.
@@josecanales2954 I saw that. Check the GEFS 12z run. It's even stronger now, and for the second wave... it's unfortunately trending even more west, with some strong ensembles heading towards Texas. But the GEPS is now showing the first wave head north almost northeast.
@@Agoodpro have you seen the ECMWF Seasonal Forecast Standardized Tropical Storm Density it show an enhanced expected value area right along the Texas Gulf Coast

Ill be honest i remember after moving to the central valley from the bay area experiencing 3 months of 100 degree days and high 80 low 90 nights. That was in 92 now it hits 100 for a few days and its panic.
I live in Florida and I know it can get hot and with hurricanes we lose power so I invested in a jackery power generator and windowless ac. Getting an extra one.
The GEFS doesn't seem to be backing down on this idea of possible tropical development. It continues to show the second wave as it's beginning to trend westward. And the GEPS and EPS are starting to agree. I'm suprised the GFS isn't showing any fantasy canes as the ensembles won't seem to quit. Hmmm....
@@weathermanplus The shear is the only thing keeping the GFS at bay. Once the shear begins to die down, especially once La nina starts to strengthen, these models, and the tropics, are about to go crazy. I can see July being pretty active, at least mid-late July.
@@weathermanplusI think you need to do an afternoon update today. The GFS 12z run is hinting that something may have changed in the data as it now shows both waves trying to push west. The only thing stopping them are these cold fronts. But if they manage to get past the cold fronts, like the second one was close to doing, then they could strengthen up as they'll get past the shear which is centered around the east. And you mentioned in the video that the ECMWF is the outlier. Well, that's not really the case. In fact, the EPS was the first one to see the western push trend, to which all the other models started following.

Hi, mark. I haven't checked in with you for a while. I was in Valley View Texas. When the F 3.5 tornado hit I was lucky I was blessed. God was watched out for me. I only have very moderate damage to my house. All my dogs and I survived. I'm humbled. So many. Of my neighbors lost everything.I lost 5 neighbors, including 2 children and a lot of my neighbors have no insurance.We are going to be hit hard by this, but i'm okay.

Let's remind ourselves that the outlying EURO model ruled supreme when it correctly predicted no tropical cyclone development in the Eastern Pacific over two weeks ago in which was a time that all other models showed a tropical system of some sort with the GFS even showing a hurricane. So, since we know that the EURO was right after how that turned out given that the same situation is happening right now with all models but the EURO showing tropical development of some sort that the EURO will likely rule supreme again this time. As always, the EURO is highly regarded as the world's best accurate model when it comes to the weather meaning I'll always believe in the EURO model out of any of the models this year through this hurricane season.
Mark, I’ll go to my grave saying we had a 🌪️ in Lafayette thru Avery Island on Saturday night. Local Meteorologist saying they didnt see any rotation. Too many trees up rooted over a 50 miles path and roofs blown off and tons of golf ball hail.
I really do believe we'll have a tropical system just like Hurricane Katrina this year I've known this for a while now I've been studying meteorology for years

I noticed with the shear it is only favorable for a couple of days then starts losing the chance.

I don't think a hurricane is coming to FL. The GFS model as you mentioned before is known for its bias and everyone talks about that as well.
