    Owned a 66 400 with tri power 4 speed triple white as a kid along with many other cars.Growing up in Detroit I had the pleasure first hand of cruising through the car culture on notorius roads such as Telegraph,Woodward Ave and The Southfield expressway.Now I own a 70 chevelle zz572/620 TCI turbo 4oo with a 3000 stall, 12 bolt series 3 Detroit Tru trac carrier with 3:73 gears Gear Vendors Overdrive 3 inch exhaust with electric qtp cut outs and to slow it down a Hydratech Hyroboost system with 4 wheel wilwood brakes,shabanga! I see more car culture now than ever before as I now live in Southern Ca

    It is his car to put whatever he wants in that beautiful goat...- I just dislike people saying he went with a Chevy for power/reliability ..... come on! 1st off it’s not a factory engine like you all talk, and 2nd ANY other engine around the same $ he’s put into it can/ will be reliable and probably more powerful than his unimpressive 600whp -still an awesome car.

    What a waste of a Pontiac.
    Whats wrong, didn't have the extra $20 per part to build a REAL PONTIAC?
    It's more Chevelle now, way to ruin a car sport...

    Chevy haters, it's what he wants. Not what you all think it should be. I have a 66 hardtop with a 427 Chevy L72 ton of fun to drive. You Butler engine is twice the cost of the 572, can't argue with a big block Chevy. So take your hate somewhere else

    Reminds me of the "good ol days" when I ran a 65 goat with a variety of big block Chevy engines. Had a stock L88 rat motor that ran 10.30's at around 129 MPH. Also went the big motor with a tunnel ram that I only got to run 10.20's before the crank went away. Yes, I know the purists are coming after me with their pitchforks and torches. And to make matters worse, I am currently building a 65 Goat with a 496 BBC rat motor. I also have a 1970 Chevelle SS454 that I am building as a resto mod. And no I did not put a Pontiac motor in it.

      joseph laperuta A Pro line 481x will smoke that and who cares what's in the car. It's his ride and he did it the way he wanted. Ppl who bitch about cross-branding clearly doesn't get what hot rodding is all about.

  • @stevesolo16
    @stevesolo16 6 років тому

    In drag racing, it is hard to find cars running their original block, especially vintage cars. There needs to be a spec class where cars need to be run with their original motor. Mopar has a "Mopar National" once a year. But, aside from Mopar, does that seem reasonable? Not really, if you want to be competitive on the strip. Aren't most of Butler's high horsepower cars, turbos?

    • @mrmcscrub9753
      @mrmcscrub9753 6 років тому +5

      Rick Taylor That is actually not true. The cost is the only real difference between the two, and its not that much of a gap. Despite being very different engine designs, both have about the same power potential. Both are similar from a reliability standpoint. Even max displacement for factory blocks is about the same. 502 for BBC, 501 for Poncho. The pontiac is usually about 35 pounds lighter. There no real reason that they shouldn't have done a pontiac in this car other than brand blind ignorance.
