A little less painful on this watch. Not as much red flags. Still would like to see the accidental comedy. Can we all agree that Charlie is the MVP of the movie series so far?! And he his a fun character too. The Answer did do a graph in the review for his entertainment value. Decent action too! Overall... an improvement. Lets hope it keeps going up from here.
Danger once again surrounds Bella (Kristen Stewart), as a string of mysterious killings terrorizes Seattle and a malicious vampire continues her infernal quest for revenge. Amid the tumult, Bella must choose between her love for Edward (Robert Pattinson) and her friendship with Jacob (Taylor Lautner), knowing that her decision may ignite the long-simmering feud between vampire and werewolf.

Rewatching this one was fun with you guys! With the tent scene. Jacob couldn’t become a wolf because he would destroy the tent. 😂
Ok I love your guys reactions to batman and harry potter so that's why I clicked on this video. Ok so you guys want to know about vampire and were wolf lore and a few other things about twilight. Ok so there's like a few things to go over.
First the explanation of bellas depression. So in the book they mentioned that the vampires have this thing where sometimes they find their mate for life. Basically like they find their magical soal mate and their bound to them. It makes sense because vampires are frozen in time usually in pain for eternity. So the only thing that would for fill them is an eternity of love. The majority of the time they fall for another vampire who feels the same way . And they literally can't be apart from each other. Its love beyond comprehension. And its rare that a human could be cable of this kind of love. This actually what every member of the Cullen family went through, Alice with jasper, Rosalie with Emmet and Carlisle with his wife. It's similar to how animals find their mate and when one of the partners gets ripped away from the other, they both feel agonizing pain. Thats why Edward and bella literally couldn't be apart from one another. If he hadn't come back they would've permanently been in unimaginable pain and never would've moved on because they are fated to be together.
Next the vampire lore. The concept of the vampires are completely different than what most people are used to. So like when they become a vampire their facial structure shifts in ways to make them like angels but also predators. And its interesting because humans can revert in an animal type nature given the type of situtation. Next their sent, voice and face attract people rather they like it or not. Which goes with what their made of. Their body erupts into different kinds of material, ice, minerals and diamonds. It goes with the myth of why they can't go out in to the sun light, why they don't need to breath, why they're so strong, and why they can pierce through skin without needing fangs. But here's the really interesting part, when they're torn apart they look hollow dolls. It kinda symbolizes how dolls attracts people and how beautiful they look. But the hollow part resembles their existence. Dolls never age, and their emotions are always beneath the surface.
Next Edward Cullen analysis. Right off the back u can tell he is antisocial and shy. And he was probably like this when he was human. Becoming a vampire, makes it difficult because you're in a new body with new impulses that could lead to destruction and no one can really stop u. So he has to have constant self control. Kinda like your kryptonian but with a bloodlust. And everyone wants to be around him because they're drawn to him. But because he can read minds he can probably find out what they're thinking to find ways to tell them to get lost. But because of what he is he's always alone. Even in his family he's alone in the beginning because everyone has someone except for him. So when he finds bella, yes he's happy but a piece of him is hoping that she'll leave because he doesn't want her to feel the misery of being a vampire. Like even tho he knows he'll never drank her blood because of how much self control he has over himslef more than other vampires, he still makes jokes about it because a tiny piece of him is hoping that she'll leave.
Next there's Bellas character. Bellas extremely similar to Edward. She's extremely shy, she's clumsy, and she hates the attention being on her. But it's unfortunate because eveyone is always trying to talk to her, be friends with her, or date her. But everyone miss judges her. So she never fits in not even in her own family. I think she only hangs out with her friend group at school because they don't miss judge her as much as other people. However she's extremely mature and perceptive. So she figures out ways to divert the conversation or situation to somewhere else. Like when mike asked bella out in the first movie she knew that Jessica was jealous so she diverted mikes attention to Jessica. The only people that actually understood bella were the Cullen. Thats why her only best friend was alice. When edward first met her. He was intrigued because he couldn't read her mind, she was an outsider like him, and could also tell what people were thinking in her own way. But he also disliked her because to vampires her blood smells better than any other human. And he hadn't fed in awhile.
Finally the moment you've been waiting for, werewolf lore. So the werewolf pack /tribe is like the native American mystical legends. They have a sacred animal. Like the movie brother bear. If the sacred animal was an eagle they would turn into a big eagle. If it was a bear they would turn into a big bear. For them it's a Wolf. But you have to have short hair because if it's long when your human your going to be a shaggy werewolf. Its why jake cut off his hair. A werewolf can be male or female They only get the genes of wolf between the ages of 13 through 16. And they are always human until vampires are near. They always have anger issues and have trouble fiting into places. Thats why some skip school or run away from home. Like an argument can be dangerous because they can shift by mistake. Anger turns to rage. Thats what happened to Sam and his fiance Emily. It's why she has a scar. So you have to stay in control. Kinda like the incredible Hulk XD. The wolves always have like a mental pack link. When a wolf becomes part of the pack they can hear the others thoughts. There's a lot of parallel to the Cullens and the wolf pack. Cullens live in a big house and wear formal clothes. Wolf pack live on farms and wear more country clothes. Vampires are cold and wolves are always hot.
The movies were mostly meant for people who read the book. So certain parts your no gonna get unless you read the books or you listen to the recordings of the author explaining the series. I can't wait for next reaction to the series, I hope this information was helpful. Oo and I'll explain the vampire mafia lore later because u need to be afraid of them.

Charlie is the best character in this series and no one can convince me otherwise.
I personally loved him and Rosalie. Her story in the books was great. They kind of shortchanged her in the movies.
Charlie in this book was awful however since he congratulated Jacob for assaulting Bella 😬

All the dads are awesome in this series! Charlie is the best but Carlisle and Billy Black are top notch too. Love that about this series :)
Having been a fan of how much these movies suck since the second they hit cinema, I can confirm Charlie has always been considered the best unironic good thing in these movies.
Don't care for Twilight but that thumbnail is incredible and deserves my like and comment.

It makes sense that we all love Charlie. He’s the normal human throughout the series. He’s us. He’s familiar. He’s all the dad jokes. I think the actor did well in being the in between of the paranormal/fantasy side of the story.

Jasper isn’t new to being a vampire. He’s new to drinking animal blood. That’s why he went after Bella in New Moon.
In fact he's the oldest out of all of them save Carlisle.
Honestly the Cullens (especially Rosalie, Alice and Carlisle) have super interesting backstories, I honestly wish we could've gotten movies or a book about them
Emmet's backstory was pretty cool too. He was attacked by a bear, that's how he almost died.

Watching three grown men react to Jacob’s body heat scene with the same vigorous applause as the high school girls did in my theater is hilarious. That scene alone is equivalent to Captain America’s Assemble Call, the screams were piercing.

Y'all are the best! 😂 So... The real reason they break like glass in the movies is because they needed to keep a PG-13 rating lol. They had to reedit the battle scene bc it was given an R rating initially due to gore and this was how they fixed it. However, the author did write that the vampire skin is like a diamond. There was a small book she released just before this movie that was about the girl newborn that the Cullens tried to save. In it, it's explained that they don't just✨SPARKLE✨ in the sunlight, they literally look like they're on fire because of their skin. Hence the myth that vampires burn in the sun. The movies honestly ruin a lot of good ideas from the books lol.

I’m not a huge fan of this saga but out of the 5 movies, this is my favorite. The fights, the story, the characters flashbacks. Really cool.
Same. At least for me, this one was the high point. And it only gets redeemed a bit 'cause of the interesting back stories of the side characters and the awesome fight scenes.
I love this one but this is actually a lot of peoples least favourite and I honestly never understood why.
@valeriam6248 really? It's my favorite I remember watching in in theaters and the crowd loved it! Not really a surprise to say the young ladies enjoyed themselves 🙄 but the entire crowd overwhelmingly was enjoying it.

Oh man! I love how you guys went from tentative cringe to hardcore invested. These movies are not good, but they are super entertaining. Cannot wait to see the cringe at the intimate moments in the next movie and for your overall reaction to the final movie!
While I do laugh at these movies now all the women in my family, my mom my sister my aunts and me LOVED these books and movies. Usually being the one on the outside in my family dynamic, the “twilight obsessed” time in my life was the closest I ever felt to any of them. I’m almost 30 now and these relationships are extremely dissolved and frayed so looking back on these movies makes me very nostalgic.
I remember seeing Twilight on DVD. Then my daughter brought home the book, Twilight and new moon from her middle school library. I tore through them and made her check out eclipse for me. Lol. Then she brought me breaking dawn for Christmas.

The “glass” is actually more like they’re made of marble, something so tough and cold and solid that it’s almost impossible to break apart unless you’re also one of them. And you’re 100% right, Charlie is the GOAT of Twilight!

Something in the books to keep in mind is how intensely Aro with the volturri desires for Alice and Edward to join them (especially Alice). He craves the power, and since Carlisle left the Volturri- Aro sees the Cullen clan as a threat to his authority and power. The cullens are larger than normal vampire groups (usually cap at 3), and they have some very gifted members. This is also part of the reason why they would not be excited for the Cullens to welcome the young girl at the end into the family - another member to make them stronger in the Volturri’s eyes.

I really appreciate y’alls approach to these movies. You know it’s not your target demographic, but you still go into it with an open mind and i love that. I personally like eclispe and breaking dawn pt 2 the best lol. God, i cant believe how obsessed i used to be with these books/movies when I was in high school 😂😂
A small note about the wolf imprinting thing that will be relevant later: when they imprint its not specifically romantic love. The warewolf will be whatever she sees them as. So if she sees him as a friend, he'll be that for her. If she sees a father/brother figure in the werewolf, that's what he'll be. If she falls in love with the werewolf, he'll fall for her too. Whatever she feels, that's what he'll be and if her feelings change, so will his. So he could be a friend and then later she might fall in love with him. I know it's cheesy, but I think this understanding of it makes it a little less cheesy. So when Jacob says it's like gravity, that's what he means.
That makes a lot of sense. I just read it as bonding with someone and wanting to protect them

Good explanation. One thing, though. They aren’t really werewolves. They are just shapeshifters, their dormant gene activated when the population of vampires rises and they are needed.

The way the author describes vampire skin is very much like diamonds. They are as cold, perfect and hard (and even sparkly hehe) like a diamond. It's made clear very few things can penetrate/damage their skin - only vampires, werewolves (which believe or not Jacob and his crew aren't) and shape shifters (Jacob and crew - wolves are just a coincidence for their choice of form) and probably some modern day technology stuff. So the way this is kinda shown in the movie is by their skin and bodies cracking and shattering like diamonds/glass.
I love how wise The Oak is! What he is saying about relationships and red flags are so true!
Little info from the books:
1) The vampires are described as feeling hard like solid marble or stone at touch .
They don’t feel fleshy and cold they are HARD and cold so they break like statutes cause they are like statues in a way. That’s why Edwards face was cracking in the fight in New Moon and why they had to wait until it was a thunderstorm to play baseball in the first movie. Imagine the sound of two statues covered in glitter colliding into each other over and over again at high speeds!
(That could also help explain the beauty of vampires from the smooth stone skin erasing all pores and lines and wrinkles!)
The only thing that can penetrate the skin is vampire venom which is why Jasper has so many bites and when bitten the venom stings for them.
(That is also why Edward had a hard time deleting himself. )
Also after killing vampires you have to burn them or they will slowly put themselves back together if they can.
In the council meeting scene in the books it was told when they ripped the vampire apart and the separate pieces started to move towards each other so they frantically burn them all up and vampires were described as having a thick heavy purple smoke from the fire that smells sickly sweet! 🤗✨
I don't think these movies were ever meant to be taken too seriously. They're like softcore romance-novel porn with vampires and Werewolves for young adults. Like True Blood. I think they did their job.

Bree (the newborn that is killed by the Volturi at the end) lis such an interesting character! She got her own companion novella to the main series and while the movie does a great job at making you care about her even though she's only in it for a short time, it's definitely not the whole story.
iirc the short version is basically this: [Spoilers for The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner obviously]
She had run away from an abusive home and was living on the streets of Seattle when she got turned. The story starts a couple of months after that when her and one of the other vampires in Victoria's army called Diego figure out that they don't actually burn in the sun (as they'd been told by Riley, the one that's Victoria's right hand man that we kept seeing in the film). They figure Riley doesn't know either and go to tell him, so they go to him and Victoria, but the Volturi are there and Bree and Diego overhear the Volturi saying that Victoria and her army have to kill the Cullens within a week (or however many days can't remember) or she will be punished (killed) for creating an illegal army. Bree returns to the rest of the army, while Diego stays behind to tell Riley they can actually go in the sun (seeing as they'll have to fight in a couple of days, he figures more time to stay outside and practice would be welcomed, so Riley should be told. When Riley returns to the group, he tells them that they have an enemy (the Cullens), basically saying that Seattle was once theirs and that's why they'll come to hunt them and also that they keep a human as a pet. He also tells Bree that Diego is away with Victoria to surveil the Cullens. There's another vampire in the army that runs away and asks Bree to come with him and Bree wants to go but wants to reunite with Diego first, so they can leave together. That's basically the only reason she even goes to the battle. She thinks she'll be able to reunite with Diego and then flee together. Once she gets there, she realizes Diego is nowhere to be found and must've been killed by Riley and Victoria. The rest is basically what we see in the movie, what's not visible is only that from Bree's mind Edward learns about the Volturi having asked Victoria to kill the Cullens if she wants to live. And Bree knows there's a mind reader among the Cullens and figures out it's Edward, so basically makes sure Edward gets that info. That's why in the movie when they say "if the Volturi had knowledge of Victoria we would've stopped her" Edward knows that's bullshit (and imo if you watch his face during that scene, it looks like he's trying to show he's gotten that info, at least to those who know to look for it). It also shows that the Volturi *did* give a second chance to Victoria so her saying "the Volturi don't give second chances" isn't entirely true. The end of Bree's novella is her hearing Edward saying "close your eyes" or something like that and the final sentence is "I closed my eyes". It's only from eclipse (the book) that we know that Edward actually said that to Bella so she wouldn't have to watch, but Bree thought he was saying it to her.

I actually really appreciate the discussion on the toxicity and influence these movies portray to the audience from you guys, especially The Oak’s outtake. I feel like only some reactors actually delve into it other than the easy “oh, well that’s a red flag” and then moving on and brushing it off (like most of us did when these were first released). I don’t know the demographics of your audience and subscribers but if any of them are younger or more inexperienced, I’m glad they do hear reason and rational takes from you guys and that these are just movies and not realistic love lives!
The investment level up that happened after the tent scene is so hilarious, because 13 years after reading the books that’s still the only chapter I can really remember

Genuinely upset they never put Alice's backstory into the movies because apart from Rosalie's, her backstory is the best... but that's also probably why they left it out. It would literally make everyone else look bad.

Her full name is Mary alice Brandon and she still has a living sister (to give you an idea of how new a vampire she is) The reason she doesn't remember anything from her human life is because she was institutionalized at a young age (in the books the reasoning was leaning toward her being clairvoyant in her human life as well) all that time she was left in the dark, quite literally. So her memories of human life is just darkness. When in the institution, she was actively being hunted by James. The movies completely omit that he knows her at all but in the books he inwardly immediately recognizes her in the clearing. She was the only one beside bella that ever got away from him. Alice was saved from James by another vampire by turning her. If shes a vampire, James can't hunt her anymore. But the vanp that turned her basically abandoned her to the world from what I can remember and it's mentioned by edward that had she not had her visions guide her towards Carlisle and her new found family, she might've become a ruthless nomad herself. She only discovered her own backstory via the video James made with bella in the ballet studio. I may be forgetting a detail or two but that's about what I remember of her story.

I saw these in theaters as an early teen. Was such a fan I would go to theaters at noon for midnight releases to be first in line, and I was not alone haha. These movies 100% bring me nostalgia. Even back then I remember thinking about all the red flags, but was also SOOO in love with Edward and melting at his one-liners😂 I still absolutely love these movies. When people ask why I like them I say, they’re bad but they’re also so good😂 that’s the best way to describe them IMO

It's been years since I've watched these, so I don't know if this is already explained in the movie, but just in case:
Jacob was probably all healed and running around again by the next morning. The wolves have incredibly fast healing. That's the reason they gave Carlisle special permission to come on their land instead of taking Jacob to the hospital and why what he was doing to Jacob had him screaming so much. Jacob's bones were already almost completely healed by the time Carlisle got to him, but they hadn't been set, so Carlisle had to break all of his bones again to reset them.
Damn, oak looking real comfortable on team Jacob in the thumbnail. I took my little sister to each of these movies. Glad to see you guys having your moment with them.

it’s so insane as a teenager how dreamy these relationships were and then you get older and it’s just like Red Flags: The Saga lmao like every combination of the Love Triangle is so toxic. It’s wild how much more interesting the background characters and relationships were compared to the main ones. Also WHY did that woman write jasper as a confederate soldier?? I was in my 20s when these came out, was naive about what love was supposed to look and feel like, and I loved watching these. 😂🤦🏾♀️
But watching now, I agree, the writing is terrible!

TBF about shirtless Jacob - I don't remember the books very well, it's been over a decade I read those (and never doing it again), but I'm pretty sure the books explain that after the transformation, the werewolfs when they are in human form, really feel extremely hot inside, so every piece of clothes does bother them. Pretty sure, they would also prefer to be completely naked, but it's not movie suitable :D . Like wolfs or animals don't wear clothes, so that's why. Also, Jacob is mostly shirtless when the vampires are near, so he can transform in an instant when needed. He does wear shirts when in public. Just felt like I needed to defend this a bit, even though I'm not a fan :D
Also, as you stated in the previous video, I mean you understand, this story is made for teenage girls, especially girls who are like Bella, quiet, socially awkward or isolated, never experienced love before (or they think they never will), their one and only wish at that point of life is simply love, that's why both Edward and Jacob are designed to be as much devoted to a girl as possible. For many girls in that age romance stories like that are often the one and only way of experiencing (or dreaming about) love. I don't have to say that not every teenage girl has liked this story, especially girls that have experience with boys etc. Once you start 50 Shades (which you probably will(?), since it's originally a Twilight fanfiction :D ), you'll see (again) how devoted a man has to be for a woman in girl stories, in order for a story to be succesful.
My personal problem with Twilight are not even the cringe lines from Edward or Jacob, but I've never understood why they fell in love with Bella so much they could not live without her. She's never done anything for them that would make her be irreplaceable for them, Edwards is only "attracted" to her, because he can't read her mind (this will be explained in the last movie I think, hope you catch it :) ). But again, this is written for girls who are waiting for love, just like movies with hot babes are made for boys, for obvious reasons :D

This is one of my favorite of the movies. And my absolute favorite of the books.
This is a little more darker than the first two. David Slade did a great job with directing this one.
I love that we got a glimpse into Rosalie's history before Carlisle found her. And a glimpse into Jasper's history before Alice found him.
Fun Fact: Kristen Stewart wore a wig for this movie. She was still finishing up on filming the movie "The Runaways"(she plays the real-life singer Joan Jett). And Kristen still had her jet black short haircut that Joan Jett has.
Charlie giving Bella "the talk", Edward proposing to Bella in his room, the fight training, and the Cullens & werewolves vs. the newborns/Edward vs. Victoria fights are my absolute favorite parts of this movie.
The only thing that I was really bummed about not being in the movie was when Jasper found Alice. That was one of my favorite parts of the book.

6:14 I have. Mom got annoyed of wrapping paper messes and started doing it than way once the youngest (me) turned 18. It really helped keep Christmas more organized since all our stuff still had our wrapping paper on it and we could reuse it next year.
