YES. This has been my experience. When I was just trying to "avoid temptation" -- I was failing -- badly. Sooner or later the itch I was ignoring would "need" to be scratched. But once I repented of what I *thought* about what I was seeing when I saw someone's flesh -- seeing them as the Holy Spirit sees them -- the itch grew less and less.
My flesh wants to judge & be critical but when i say let me see & love as You do then i die that carnality. When i saw someone who stold from me my flesh wanted to rise but the spirit said i forgive & Jesus go get them w your love. I love to live in freedom!
My husband wanted to bring the lord into r marriage and the way he did was reminding me how he was sure God viewed me so he would honor that and do the same. It was wonderful as long as it lasted. Lost him in 2003.

The Bible teaches us to run away from sin, like lust. Not to see people in bathing suits with the eyes of God. That doesn't exist. Inside this circle he drew a smaller one and inside the smaller circle he made a point with the pen... The point represented your human flesh. The smaller circle represented your soul/mind and the outer circle represented your spirit. When you live in the Spirit, it'll influence your soul/mind and THAT in turn will influence how the flesh will act or react... Dress your selfes with the Spirit people and you won't be able to walk and look at the world in the flesh... You'll BECOME more like Jesus, AMEN!!! This is the best description and explanation of how the mind body and Spirit should work and how we as humans operate...

Bro, If God loved us at our worst. Imagine the joy of the Father when we lean towards what is good for us to any degree. Keep your head up son, your temptation is that of all men. There is no all conquering man except the Christ and He wore a crown of thorns for every sin that would rush through the minds of humanity so we could stand forgiven and righteous. Try not to let religion punish you or call you a failure, there is an ocean of grace for you to learn to master your desires. There is more going on in the male body than just lust and sin.....we were made to have random erections for goodness sakes (only men understand that). Unfortunately we were not fathered as to how to manage the intimate area of our lives. You are now a child in an adults world and body in this aspect of your person, be as gentle as you would a child when you deal with yourself growing.....being harsh, just calling out sin and feeling somehow God is not pleased will cause rejection and a hiding away of yourself. Be where your at and like a gambler who wants to save money avoids the casino, avoid the things that set your pants onfire lol. I know its no joke mate, but its not the end of the world either. God made you a man, and Jesus was a man with all the physical bells and whistles......the fact you want change is so amazing...you will have it :)

This is how I feel at the gym. Some of the outfits women wear leave literally nothing to the imagination. Do my best to just keep my head down and focus on the workout. You may feel like looking is fine, but that's the beginning of temptation.. definitely a slippery slope.

Blessings to us also, that our eyes can be our lamp of the body. “The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. His word says the harvest is ripe but the labourers are few, this is because a lot of believers want to hide in a church building and practice religion, but won’t go out into the WORLD like He instructed us to preach the Gospel. God loves unbelievers, and He knows a lot of them will not walk into a church building because of fear of being shamed, judged and condemned. He will call some disciples to go into unorthodox places outside of the church building to bring His word to the ripe harvest… Even if it’s just ONE person, He values them. Where did He find Mary? Don’t use your own myopia to limit what a sovereign God can or will do. You do not know nor should you be concerned with anyone else’s calling but your own. Are you obeying His call on your life to make disciples of all men?

This woman had two patches at the to and one at the bottom and stood there eating. I did not know where to look. If I had a wrap clothe I would give it to her, I felt so ashamed.
Part of being in the Spirit is being honest about one's weakness. If you can be around a bunch of women in bikinis and preach the word to them without a lustful thought, awesome. If that is something you struggle with, don't throw yourself in the deep end and then demand God save you from drowning.

I have used this method when I used to have negative self talk and I would stop the bad talk, reject the bad idea and then replace it with a kind thought. @@ezequielolaizola7650the problem is in this day and age, clothing in any situation anywhere can be very scanty. there's ads everywhere that are suggestive, you can even get ads on your phone at night in bed that are suggestive. so how do you run away from that? you would have to be a hermit. I do agree with you to a point however. I'm female so I can say this - women need to dress and behave more modestly too. if we were dressed modestly there would be far less temptation. it was less than a hundred years ago that the bikini was introduced, and it was SCANDALOUS. Really, women's fashion in particular, is pretty out there these days.. I literally learnt to sew so I could make the modest clothes I couldn't buy. for example shorts. it sounds so prudish but I think this video highlights the struggle we put on men (yes they're also responsible for themselves too. but I wouldn't eat a cheesecake right on front of my friend who is struggling to diet). men's clothing and behaviour isn't without fault too, but yeah..

Exactly, any man believes he has no sin, there is no truth in him. That is the truth. Not justifying our sin, we are justified by the finished work of Christ.
I would venture to say almost all Christian men struggle with this... more so than probably any other sin. Even if most wouldn't admit it.. Lust is a daily struggle and a very difficult one at that, especially due to the overexposure of sex in western society.
If you're not quite there tho, here is something you can take comfort in...... That's why being grateful to God is so easy, because he loved us first, in that he sent Jesus to die for us. We are forgiven, washed clean, He sees us as He sees Jesus, because of what Christ did on the cross. So if you're walking in a spirit of gratefulness, that'll work too. Many new Christians fall, many long time followers fall, we aren't perfect. If we were, we wouldn't have needed Jesus. We do need him, there's no way if make it to heaven without the blood of Jesus to cover me, and the Holy Spirit to remind me what I do, and want to do is not cool. I am nothing, and would have nothing if it was not for Jesus. Not by my might......please if you're a new believer, don't be discouraged, everyone falls, specially people that think they have it together. The pastor walked with peace that day because he didn't see his flavor. People put on fake cloaks all the time, I've seen it. The biggest transformations I've seen, is the control that people with bad pasts have over their reactions. Don't let the nice clothes and the haircut fool you. I know, I struggle everyday, I'm thankful to God that he sent his son because there is no good in me......❤

Romans 8:1-8
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.
What he is saying aligns with that scripture so well. I try to practice this but I find it can be easy for me to slip back into the flesh though.

Evidently, you're all much better Christians than I am. I struggle with this.
I would venture to say almost all Christian men struggle with this... more so than probably any other sin. Even if most wouldn't admit it.. Lust is a daily struggle and a very difficult one at that, especially due to the overexposure of sex in western society.
If you live only by spirit, you miss this true experience.

If you're not quite there tho, here is something you can take comfort in...... That's why being grateful to God is so easy, because he loved us first, in that he sent Jesus to die for us. We are forgiven, washed clean, He sees us as He sees Jesus, because of what Christ did on the cross. So if you're walking in a spirit of gratefulness, that'll work too. Many new Christians fall, many long time followers fall, we aren't perfect. If we were, we wouldn't have needed Jesus. We do need him, there's no way if make it to heaven without the blood of Jesus to cover me, and the Holy Spirit to remind me what I do, and want to do is not cool. I am nothing, and would have nothing if it was not for Jesus. Not by my might......please if you're a new believer, don't be discouraged, everyone falls, specially people that think they have it together. The pastor walked with peace that day because he didn't see his flavor. People put on fake cloaks all the time, I've seen it. The biggest transformations I've seen, is the control that people with bad pasts have over their reactions. Don't let the nice clothes and the haircut fool you. I know, I struggle everyday, I'm thankful to God that he sent his son because there is no good in me......❤
