I bought and played it as soon as i could, it was really fun and i had a blast getting all the achievements, but the game feels too short. I hope they make some updates later on
This game and FRAMED are the closest thing I could think of interactive, moveable story panels.
I immediately thought of Framed when I watched this!
What's fun is Framed and this differ in a few ways, sure both are story panel puzzle games but Framed is more action based and has limited options while Storyteller you can put duplicate panels and are static panels (ie we don't have a guy jumping panel to panel)
I'm not normally someone for these types of games but this looks so charming and so delightful so creative that even if I don't play it I'm probably going to throw money at it these developers deserve it. Thank you for shining light on this project.
I tried the demo for this game during one of the Steam fests, probably like a year or two ago, and I loved it. Nice to see it finally releasing.
And I just found out this game was made by a fellow Argentinian thanks to another comment here, neat.
This is neat - i love the art style! Nice review Jesse, and thanks for the heads up
This looks like it has FANTASTIC potential to get polished up a bit, add some more creative freedom, and DLC/Community Workshop additional puzzles!
Definitely needs custom levels, that would be really fun. As it is right now it's way too short for its price.
I was really hoping for freeplay after the game ended
@@invertedLOL same tbh if it adds freeplay it would be a lot better
There is a neat storybook puzzle in "Lost in Play" that reminds me of this.
Had this on my wishlist for a while, glad to hear it is out! ❤
If im not mistaken, i saw this game in development like 10 years ago. Glad its finished
As I remember it, the imagined scope of the game back then was much larger. Like it was supposed to be really dynamic and able to create a lot of different stories, and here, ten years later, it's a puzzle game with very specific solutions. Still cool that that Daniel could swerve and make it into something else upon, I'm guessing, that it was really hard or not very fun to make the game they wanted to in the beginning (iirc).
for being in development that long it really wasnt worth it, I got it today and finished it in an hour and a half and thats because i wasnt even rushing.
@@xxnekonekox Yeah, it has puzzles that introduce the different characters and mechanics, and then.. the end? There's no more puzzles using them again.
It's barely longer than the demo, which is disappointing.
@@Enaronia yep, the demo was awesome, even the end card of the demo promised so many more interesting characters that we didn't get.
They cut content from the demo and streamlined even more things that made the demo puzzles especially great. It makes no sense really what a turn this project took.
@@NinjarioPicmin I wouldn't really say it took a turn. It's fine. It's just short.
This inspired me to track down the old (15 years now, jeez) I Wish I Were the Moon and (I Fell In Love With) The Majesty of Colors flash games which were the originators of this formula, what a nostalgia trip.
Glad to see someone picked that formula back up eventually, it still has legs.
I always pick your 3_Minute review series over any other review channel because your people get how to tell a succinct, well-organized story.
The demo itself was amazing, how responsive the stories are to the players input. Very fresh game idea well executed.
choose your own adventure done right
Oh wow, you managed to fit the entirety of the game in your video.. well done
Wishlisted!
I love love love this concept. These days I rarely get games at/near release, but I'll be picking this one up. It would be nice to have come to more consoles than just the Switch though - this is a perfect game for XCloud
It’s a wonderful game, however I want to point out that on the promotion artwork there are characters that were never in the base game, we never see those characters anywhere yet they are on the promotion artwork. Is this hinting that there will be updates to the chapters?
Does it come out today it says only coming soon on steam
Such a unique looking game!
Gonna wishlist it!
This has been on my wishlist for a while, and I have a 15% birthday code that I'm hoping to use! Although Rakuen also comes out today...
This is exactly the kind of game I'd play when I just need to shut my brain up and do something.
Thank you for the review and for putting this on my radar!
ORGULLLO ARGENTINO CARAJOOOOOOOOO
Does this have touch controls on the Switch?
interesting puzzle game
Ok, ok. Sold. Where is the Steam link? 8 links in description and none of them lead to the game.
At GDC on phone, couldn’t grab it when we posted. It’s on Steam, Storyteller.
I wonder if this game will get an iOS release.
Marvel should adopt this for their games, making them instantly twice better.
skip to 0:05 🤣
Looks neat, but I'll most likely pass on it.
Way too short on content for the game that lacks replay value and for the price of $14.99.
84% completion in less then 2 hours seems meh for that price.
The demo was good, but I feel dissapointed that they made it THAT short after a long development time.
Hey, on steam if a game is less than 2 hours, it's free
This game is a lot more limited than I had expected. The variety in story doesn’t seem that great. I paid £8 which is ok. Had I played a demo I probably wouldn’t have bought it.
Wow i would not pay 14.99 for this sorry!!
