I met him in Sturgis South Dakota broke down on the side of the road with his friends and family. One thing lead to another and we became brothers. I did fly to his place in Tahiti once ever other year and was adopted by him and his family's. The love they had for us is unmeasurable and I for them. I have not seen then in 4 years and I don't think I'll see him for another year or two. But seeing you travel around there islands make me miss them just that little bit less. Thank so much. I know they are safe I call them once a month. But seeing there land put me right there with them when I talk to them.
Buying children ukuleles and teaching them to play, then showing them how to play "don't worry". Needed a good heart story today. 🌹 to this gentlemen for all his current and future endeavors.
Happy Valentines Day to you both! About that Tasty cheese - I'm a Kiwi who's eaten the stuff since I was knee-high, and that was a Kiwi brand by the way. Tasty is a cheddar that has been aged for longer than it's younger brother Mild cheddar - both of which make great Mousetraps (Welsh Rarebit to others).
Don't forget replacement strings. Oh, and Jason, you need to clip that outboard kill switch onto your clothing! Those propeller blades can kill if you are flipped off the boat.
Nikki & Jason you are the best sailing couple on UA-cam🙏 Your Vlogs are more like short documentaries. Hope you start showing more stories like these. Interactions with the locals.

Hey Nikki and Jason! Thanks for a great video! The Vava'u Public Library is in the process of setting up A Facebook page to raise funds for operating expenses. They need money to keep the doors open. If anyone wants to donate keep checking their Facebook page. Remember how much money was raised for the Veterinary clinic which took care of Pip? Maybe we could help the library too! Another of the Wynn's good causes! Oh and yess they need money for ukulele's too!
Have to be the most cleanness yachties I ever seen, ropes are always hung, not left lying around, always neatly looped, and cleaning of the deck when opportunity arises eg rain, nice to see you taking care, kudos team.
Tasty is just a term used to describe the age, texture and flavor of Cheddar cheese but it's a term you'll only see used in Australia, New Zealand, and other South Pacific islands where Mainland (the brand at that market) cheese is sold. I should know, I invented cheese
Actually, Lancashire in the north west of the UK 'invented' the process that created a cheese called 'Tasty' in the 1890's. It was based on traditional methods of aging cheddar and is widely known all over the UK and especially Lancashire as (you guessed it) 'Lancashire Tasty' popular today in several strengths! Check out 'Lancashire Cheese' on Wiki.
You've brought me to tears watching this video! We are homesick for Tonga & Vava'u, and loved watching you go to the library (where we have donated some books), and shopping! Just loved every single moment!! But my heart just grew even more when you started talking about the need for Ukulele's for the town. This is such an awesome way to get the kids and young adults interested, and would love to contribute. Is there a place we can do so? - Thanks :)
Let’s see. It is -16F this morning, and the snow can be blown off with a kenaf blower. Family and friends in Texas are scrambling, and more is forecast. Think I will sit down and watch it rain in Tonga, and then enjoy the simplicity of ukulele .
Out hauls are cool. I put a pulley on the anchor end. I tie of the land end to a a bit of line around a tree with a sheet bend(bowlin with two lines). When I am ready to go out to my boat i just untie the sheet bend and start pulling. The line goes out and the boat comes in (no need for a shore side block).
Cheers to the JOYS & WONDERS of music & community, and finding wonderments amidst the rainy season! Always fabulous to spend time with you! Enjoy learning and playing the ukulele... Somewhere over the rainbow, sunny adventures are in your future!
I’m a music teacher who taught in a library in rural Indiana. Librarians who listen to music lessons and help us build community are saints! I’m in a different part of the US now but if there’s anything I can do with my music teacher connections to help you get instruments in the hands of the kids please let me know. It would be an honor to help out the Wynn’s in this instance with more than just watching and sharing the video!
That Mainland Cheese brand - In New Zealand Cheddar comes in "Mild" and "Tasty". Tasty has been aged a little longer and it has a stronger taste. My paternal Grandfather used to make Cheddar (a fore-runner to the Mainland Cheese brand) and my maternal Grandfather supplied milk to my other grandfathers cheese factory....
Beautiful, it's lovely to see the children enjoying themselves learning to play. Well done, it doesn't hurt to be kind and generous as you both are, which is something we seem to be lacking in these crazy times. Good luck to the pair of you.

Unleased your inner Stitch, I see...I just love the sound of the ukulele. Gives me tropical vibes they have cheese? You've been saved by Cheezus. Can't imagine a world without cheese. Cheese is simply God's best creation
The pearls you two collect in that you meet some truly treasured persons, characters and show such a very rarely seen side of the sailing community! So I saw cows and you can make cheese!!!! We do!!!! Try it, you already make yogurt!!!
You should be able to sing a cover for us without copyright infringement. As long as it's not an actual Marley performance. There's cover channels all over YT.
All good points but not everyone that performs covers is monetized and if they are, they may have actually paid a small license fee(?) Also, youtube bots/algorithms are wayyyy more picky and fickle than they use to be. Plus, it seems channels with larger audiences/subs tend to get made examples of :'(
They get pulled all the time. I used to be a member of a Ukulele forum and members would upload their covers so we could see and talk about it and maybe learn something but then slowly more and more of the videos would get copyright strikes. It's not worth the risk for them to lose their channel.
Jason and Nikki should be named Ambassadors of Love as wherever y’all go you spread love by helping those you come in contact with! Y’all help with clean water, medicine or just by positive influence! Thank both of you for spreading love across the world in your travels!
Thank you Mr. n Ms. Wynn - Not the best day weather-wise but what the hey, shyte happens. I was going to say 'Don Worry Be Happy' but your smiles and great outlook convince me you don't need any cheering up. Enjoy :-)
Playing a uke or guitar would be very important on a boat. There's one older guy with a channel who is actually a musician, but I haven't seen him do anything with that for a while. And a couple in Europe who were absolutely amazing. Would give you something great to do in the spare time.
Awesome! I love this! I also learned how to play ukulele at my local library! I live in a very small town in north central Washington state with a population of around 1,200 people. When they started free classes there was a great interest so they did a second set of classes and I did that one too. Then Covid hit. No more gatherings. No more music. Library closed. It’s open again but with limited services and times. I’m grateful for that! But I hope someday soon we can play ukulele again. Good job, you guys! You made some kids very happy 😊 🤩
In Australia and I think it's the same as NZ, Tasty means 'mature cheese.' So that means it's a bit older and has a bit more bite to it. Then you have semi-matured cheese and then plastic cheese that is in slices that are used for sandwiches if you're mad enough to use it. None of my family would ever abuse their mouths and stomachs with plastic cheese. I am a long way from Kiwi land, but I buy their Mainland Tasty cheese because it's actually quite a good cheese. Where I am the Mainland Tasty 1 kg block sells for $15.00 AUD. Pretty expensive, but it's worth the money.
What a great episode! We dived Vava'u many years ago & the people there are a showcase of everything beautiful about the Pacific Islands. Humility, honour, honesty & stunning beauty of the natural environment & the people there. Bravo!!! 💜
OMgosh, you two have once again warmed our hearts with your efforts and caring for the communities you are living in. Music brings so many people together and it brings us a sense of happiness and it's also very spiritual. Let's hope Bob Marley will let you finally play "Don't Worry ABout a thing" and share it with us! Thanks for another awesome episode! Cheers!
You eat the same type of cheese I do Mainland (nickname of NZ south island) Tasty. It is cheddar and what we called "strong" or "mature" in Canada when I lived there 40 yrs ago. When you get to NZ you can get 1kg blocks(size of a brick).
I appreciate your engagement with the people you meet, rather than simply finding ways of amusing yourselves. Sailing with ♥️ and posted on Valentine’s Day. Yay!
Enjoy, We have snow, Ice and a low of -1 for Monday night. Not bad for Dallas in February!!! Here 30 miles south of Dallas it is 12 degrees at 6PM Sunday!!!
You guys are awesome. I play the flute and I love it. My husband is a drummer. I think it’s spectacular that you all are giving some add revenue for the uke’s. And I hope you are able to get lots. I will totally share to Facebook to help
This episode Lightens My Heart. I bought ukuleles for my grand kids a few years back and both have gotten pretty good. My grandson played a piece at the end of a family video they did for us and all I can say is, smiles and tears.
Hello you Guys, greetings from your RV friends in AZ,lots of rain there,it could be worse snow in Dallas and San Antonio today❄☃️good to see Nikki pick up an instrument music is good for the soul,Nice clean boat thanks for the motivation to clean the rv,have a good week you both look Happy 😊 Hugs from the Mittons and their Kittens 😸 😻
Good on you guys, giving back and helping the local communities you stop at on your travels. It’s a pity that more of the channels don’t do the same. There are only a few that I’ve seen that do like Sheddy and Jim on Vet tails sailing chuffed, Ryan and Britney on sailing Sunday and of course sailing nahoa. You two have kind hearts and loving souls and will have good karma. 👍🍻🍷🍹🍸
Make sure you put "uke fund" or similar in the note when you use the tip jar. They are also trying to set up a direct line to donate to the library - see the pinned comment at the top.
I love to see the stores y’all visit on those small islands, seeing what they stock and learning about the prices of things in that part of the world. Very interesting. Also seeing how excited you get when you find they actually have cheese! As Jason said it’s the little things that make us happy. Nikki we're all waiting for your Ukulele recital.
LOL, although a few on lookers will question your sanity a downpour is the absolute best time to wash your boat! You even have natures version of a soft water rinse to help with water spots! Cheers you two awesome content and story. I can't wait until we get to sign on and see you two sharing another incredible destination place with us. Dang COVID crap
Loved the library as a child in small town USA, my first job was at the library, still prefer a real book in my hands than modern tech, and coincidentally was sharing all this with my Grandkids this week.... and here you are this video at a library! And I always wanted to play ukulele - ok get out of my head Nikki lol 😂 Thank you both for your consistently uplifting generous spirits you share with us and those you meet on your journey😘Fan From Florida 🌴
Hey Jason and Nikki! I just wanted to say that I am LOVING your channel. I lived in Vava'u for 5 years and I really miss it there. It's so cool to see it again through your eyes. (Not sure if you've explored the ''secret beach'' on the east side of Vava'u lahi, out beyond Ta'anea, but it'd be great to see some footage from out that way). Your videos are really well done, I especially liked the one you did recently about my sister Lisa's resort on Fetoko Island. Keep up the good work!!
I love my little Bolt electric bike. I think it is going to be a popular unit for boaters. I've had mine over a year now and have a rack on the back and can attach a basket to the front.
Nice to see its not only us in Scotland that is getting poured on, with gale force winds topping 75MPH and rain by several clouds worth, dumping on us but then we do not have the beauty you guys have and run cars in place of electric bikes.
I'm sitting here in the DFW area on Sunday morning and its 16ºf and we have already hit the high today. Its snowing and is expected to snow all day. Thanks for bringing the tropics to us today.
Those little electric bikes seem to be the perfect size for a boat or a motor home. The pigs were so cute. Thank god for people like John and you guys that are so generous, and loving.
Just starting to watch your voyages. This was fun - as a ukulele player it is the most joyful when there’s an opportunity to learn and play together. ❤️
A super fun way to share time, music an stories with the locals! There’s many great tunes on the ukulele- Elvis, Rod Stewart, and yes Bob Marley! Have fun!! Music had always been that for me as well. I agree, funny to see the pigs and cows right there on the side of the road! Oh and your cool bikes are a game changer!!! Thanks for a fun video! -Cindy
Long time subscriber. I love this video. I love seeing the local areas, the beautiful people, the scenery, the market...”everyday life” videos are my favorite type of videos. And to give back to the community is absolutely amazing.
!!!!! You can make most delicious fried cheese schnitzel out of Edam !!!! Just cut about 1/2" slice of cheese cower with batter cool in fridge an then deep fried quick till golden. with fries , tartar sauce on side and beer. You can also use two thinner slices of Edam and sandwich slice of ham between before batter. Food from heaven !!! You can find recipes under czech ,,smazh" (Smazeny syr)
Happy Wynnsday! Judging by past performance of your subscribers, that library is going to have enough ukuleles for every child on that island and all that everyone's in 15 minutes!
Please turn on closed captioning feature some of us need it and love reading about your adventures.... Dan, Houston. 19 degrees, 1/2 inch of ice and 5-7” snow on the way! Dallas has ice and a foot of snow!!
John is definitely Al Pacino disguised as a Kiwi living in Tonga...
*Say malo e lelei to my little friend*
He definitely looks like Al Pacino!
Seems like a very nice chap and he is out there making a difference! Really cool!
That was my first thought too!
Beat me to it. Absolutely.
Totally and Nikki & Jason have been "sworn to secrecy" to not reveal Al playing a Kiwi living in Tonga!

👍🍻🍷🍹🍸
Love to the Wynns from Alabama! Happy Valentines Day!
Love the idea of supporting the library. I hope using the "tip jar" link works.
Make sure you put "uke fund" or similar in the note when you use the tip jar. They are also trying to set up a direct line to donate to the library - see the pinned comment at the top.
Nikki, impressed and proud that you have carried around that beautiful instrument to finally learn one day.
You are great people to donate to such a great cause. The world needs more
Hey you have rain. You could be here in Texas enjoying snow with all of us. And oh yeah, great place to learn the Uke.
You guys are good people. You warm my heart!
Just fabulous !! What philanthropists you are becoming in promoting well-being to underserved peoples. ❤️
Wishing for the rain instead of the snow and below zero Temps. Thanks for the temporary respite!
Genuine good folks traveling and doing good things.
Nikki and Jason! we love you! thank you for making our Sundays filled with new adventure!
First notice I have that Al Pacino teaches ukelele in a remote island... The resemblance is amazing !!!!
I love that you're donating to the library. xx
Thanks to you the world is a bit of a better place!
Thank you guys!
The Ukulele teacher looks just like Al Pacino... brilliant you guys are amazing
Awesome to see guys thank you so much. You make a snow cold Michigan winter warmer and more colorful. 💝🙏💝
Amazing Nikki and Jason, I can see the library getting lots of ukuleles
Wow!!! Malo guys!!! You guys are so amazing helping out the local community.
Love your hearts for donating to the kiddos! Very commendable indeed!
God bless you!
Those little electric bikes seem to be the perfect size for a boat or a motor home. The pigs were so cute. Thank god for people like John and you guys that are so generous, and loving.
What make are the electric bikes? Are they available in the US?

So nice you give back to the communities whenever you can! We all should be doing the same 😊👏
Just starting to watch your voyages. This was fun - as a ukulele player it is the most joyful when there’s an opportunity to learn and play together. ❤️
Y'all are so awesome!! Making a difference everywhere you go. The Huckabee's love The Wynn's!!!
Sunday morning and the Wynns, This is Bliss!! 😍☕️
Great Valentine's surprise. Great video! So are cheese making lessons next on your list?
So are cheese making lessons next on your list?
I’m sorry but bliss would be being on a cat like theirs in the same area. Nevertheless, this is “nice” to watch!
I concur! Coffee and the Wynns, it's my thing! :)
Congrats you guys you are in the 3 spot of the most popular youtube sailling channel.
Thhank you for giving so much back.
Way to go Wynn's. Love your vidoes and look forward to each week. Love your amazing hearts and cheery dispositions. The world needs more of this♥♥♥
You need to write your own song titled "Gone with the Wynns" it would be a worldwide hit, well at least with all your subscribers anyway.
That’s a great idea!
The video was perfect timing for us. Since the arctic blast has hit TX, frozen pipes and no power you took us away.
Loved the highlight of your day Gonna eat some cheese!Happy Valentines Day and thanks for sharing so enjoy watching!
All the rain looks like Houston. 😀
