This song is absolutely one of the simplest, most honest, raw songs I've ever heard. Powerful and beautiful. Amazing.
I totally agree. I connect with this song in a way I never have with any other and I know what you mean. It's straight from the heart.
+Joshua Smith and Randy - many of their songs will do that to you. I think the writing is some of the best out there. I am glad I found these guys on Bluesville when I was going thru a hard time
All these heartfelt comments are touching, but I like to crank the bass up in my car and let this song THUMP.
lol!
It's 2024 people show that love still, don't let it fade in history!
This, Cover me up (the Jason Isbell version), and Born to Run have been the songs that have gone down in the folklore of my Girlfriend and I's relationship and I don't think that could be better
This was my first dance with my wife this summer. I fall more in love with her every time I listen, and I listen to it almost daily. Thanks for being amazing.
Nothing tells the story of how I feel about my beautiful wife and our incoming first baby like this song does. It’s brought me to goosebumps and happy tears more than any piece of art I’ve ever heard or seen. Thank you so much for it ❤️
Like an arrow to my heart. Evoked an emotional rainbow and made me cry. Love it
I love this song but it's harder to listen to after my Sammy left me. Everytime I hear it I can remember myself singing it to her in the car when ever it came on. She loved when I sang to her. She was definitely my muse. She still is
Be grateful for the times you did have with your Sammy.
What a Masterpiece
It was amazing to meet you guys and see you on the "apparently Tuesday". Just wish my was still around to be there.
Never get tired of this song, love the bowed bass sound.
Likewise. And the raw nature of it. It's great
That's a cello
@@RedPilledAsFuck Mr Wood is a Jazz Bassist he does not play a Cello, watch a live version of the song. He is also the bass player of Medeski, Martin and Wood.

@@GregariousAntithesis ah gotcha that's a double bass not a cello sorry haha
❤ my favorite song
This song is one of the most wonderfull song's i have ever heard
I Don't think there is a song more honest and powerful than this right here.
Wow! This is maybe the best song I've ever heard. Closer to the heart than anything else this old man has heard.
One of the best songs written in a long time. Beautifully done, gents.
I shed a few tears listening to this
This is one of the best songs I’ve ever heard. Wow.
I've never been so lucky to stumble upon this song and the weight it holds in every word
Welcome home
I've watched this video 200 times and it still gets me choked up every time! Hits you right in the feels. Amazing, guys!
chills n' tears...a most powerful thing this is
I heard this song today and I listened to it for 12 hours straight. It is so deep, so raw, so my life for a number of years.
Two years ago I opened my life to Jesus. The narrow way is much harder to walk on but I am a better man for it. The Muse is still there… It’s one stumble away. But at least it’s in my past and not in my tomorrow.
I love this song! I am a fan! Thank you and God Bless You! ✝️❤️
Man this such a raw and powerful song, and not even close to their best stuff either! Wood brothers are one of last pure bands out there ❤
You can truly tell these guys love each other. It comes through in each note in their music is so pure. Music is not like this all the time....
This is my first time hearing the original version of this song. I'm glad ZBB was able to do this beautiful song justice
Thank you for this piece of art Wood Brothers! Very moving song which I can now relate to thanks to the birth of my son. Like others, Zac Brown Band exposed me to this song, and even though they do justice, clearly the original is so much more moving.
This song gets me every time. This video goes perfectly.
Beautiful song, I see a lifetime of experience in every verse
amazing as this is.....listen to the vinyl...then it explodes! get it.
this song hit me squarely in the heart, right where I live. as a struggling musician this is quite literally the story of my life, eloquently written by a man I've never met. I like to think that this is the best, most perfect example of the almighty, whoever you are.
Still one of my favorite songs. ❤️
Caught these guys live last week in Birmingham with members of my family. These guys are so, so good. When it comes to a decision as to where to spend your entertainment dollar... choose the Woods Brothers you wont be disappointed.
Hauntingly beautiful... I have tears in my eyes...
Incredible! Thank you.
Gentleman you flow honey. So nice....Thank you for being here in my lifetime.
I never tire of this...ever...
As I sit on the edge of this never made bed
Old guitar in my lap a new tune in my head
There she stands in the doorway just brushin’ her hair
It’s my beautiful muse in her underwear
And if I was thinkin’ I’d be thinkin’ thank God whoever you are
For the muse and this old guitar
Times like these so sweet and so true
Thinkin’s the last thing that you wanna do
As I sit on the end of this dirty old bar
Tryin’ to work some things out and not gettin’ too far
And I drown out the voices that are keepin’ me down
There’s a muse all alone on the other side of town
And if I was thinkin’ I’d be thinkin’ thank God whoever you are
For all the whiskey in this dirty old bar
Times like these so sad but so true
Thinkin’s the last thing that you wanna do
Thinkin’s the last thing that you wanna do
As I sit on the bed in this hospital room
Sheddin’ a tear for the bride and groom
The tiniest voice starts to bellow and cry
It’s my finest work yet if today I should die
And if I was thinkin’ I’d be thinkin’ thank God whoever you are
For the muse and the miracle right here in my arms
Times like these so sweet and so true
Thinkin’s the last thing that you wanna do
Thinkin’s the last thing that you wanna do
Thinkin’s the last thing that you wanna do
[Lyrics to The Muse by The Wood Brothers]
thankyou
Wow, first I've heard of this group. Very nice song.
Just one more really good and down to earth songs, the reason I have grown to love the music. Saw the Wood Bros. right before the day the music died earlier this year in a very close and personal setting and was happier for it...
gosh, you guys. i was lucky enough to hear this song live in boulder/denver this past week. really powerful stuff. oliver's voice is hauntingly beautiful. cant get over this song. well done, gentlemen.
When I need to cry and love my life and appreciate the beauty of being alive, I come here. Love you all
Danke für eure super Musik 🥳🔥🥳
A very heart-warm thank you for this video/song. The last lines of the song are so cut-to-the-core true. If you do not have a "muse" or "lil' muses" (or is it musi) in your life... you'll get it... but come back and play it again when you do find your muse
To the Woods Bros! This is a wonderful song through and through! Thank you so much! It is everything any writer should aim to achieve! Tears in my eyes wonderful guys! Truly! Thanks!
Saw them last weekend in Portland, Maine. They were so good live. Everybody in the place had smile on their face.
can confirm was there :p so much love
Divine song.
great song
Brilliant lyrical work. I liked this song immediately and found myself humming along with the 1st listen. The instrumentation is introduced perfectly but the lyrics brought me back over and over. Seriously, thanks for this.
Wow 6 years have passed since i first heard this and i still come back, i love it so much.
this song is a masterpiece
we had the pleasure of meeting you guys at Tønder Festival a week ago when we bought your cds and you did a signing. I must admit, I fell in love with you when I heard you play, and I went to all your gigs. You were the best ones this year. Now, your music keeps bringing me back to those 4 semi sunny days. thank you so much guys. keep singing!!! All my love Xxx

Something magic happens when you guys sing in harmony together! You should add more of that to each song! Truly!

Please please come to Israel! I saw you in Vancouver last year after knowing about you for 3 years. It was the best concert I've ever been to. Y'all have lots of fans over here! Please consider next time you cross the Atlantic !
