    This is an amazing and educational video. Thank you for taking the time to post this. So many women have this, including myself. I have pain about 75% of each month. It comes whenever it wants and I never know when it’s going to come. My doctor recommended surgery or birth control.

    • @hannahlindoo
      @hannahlindoo  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Kayla! I’m so sorry to hear that you suffer as well. Birth control can help to mask your symptoms but it will never make endo go away. Some women find relief with it and some don’t. The gold standard is always excision surgery. It’s expensive, depending on your insurance, but preferred over an ablation surgery because it gets to the root of the disease. If you need help finding an excision specialist, join Nancy’s nook on Facebook. They have tons of resources about endo and related illnesses and you can find an international list of excision specialists.

      Oh wow I was getting to this. Most of my endo symptoms was just painful on the day of or a couple days before w the day of. But about a yr ago it started being the whole week before and most of the period week. Then two weeks before p. plus the week of (3 weeks straight). I just recently found relief but it wrked. I also had started getting extreme PMS that was like being pregnant every month. That has mostly gone away. I still have a horrible day of but the other days of the month the pain went away. Sometimes I get the pulling sensation or sore bloating a few days before period but thats it. What I did was go from meat 3x a day and goat dairy 1x a day, regular butter use and occasional ice cream and eggs to no dairy and eggs, meat no more than 1x a day (like just dinner), increased water to 96oz and added a lot more plant based foods and whole grains. I have done this 4 mo and has progressively gotten better each month. I did veganuary this month and added Dr. Goldner's hypernourishing smoothie. Look her up here on youtube (shes under Goodbye Lupus Dr Goldner). This whole month I have been fully plant based with the smoothie and have had no mid month pain or body aches. Period has not come yet so cant tell if pain of the day of has decreased. I plan on still eating meat on occasion but being mostly plant based but I do not miss eggs or dairy. If you do anything I definitely recommend starting with the smoothie (its not any old smoothie its strategic), 96+oz water, and getting consistent good sleep. Then if you can move towards being mostly or fully plant based.

    i’m on my journey to getting diagnosed and it’s the most frustrating process i’ve ever been through. I’m so sorry to hear your are struggling through this! I know how it feels to have doctors not care and push you off. I highly recommend that you check out Nancy’s nook on Facebook! I put a link in the description of this video. It’s an educational page for endometriosis. I think one of the best resources on the page is an international list of endometriosis/excision specialists. Not all doctors or gynecologists are educated and trained in how to correctly treat endo, so it’s so important to find a specialist. Even if you have to travel for care, I believe it’s so worth it.

    • @hannahlindoo
      @hannahlindoo  3 роки тому +1

      Hi! Unfortunately, ultrasound will not show endometriosis. It may show if you have cysts, or endometriomas, but it will not show endometriosis itself. The only way to properly diagnose endometriosis is through surgery, unfortunately. 😔

      I can’t diagnose anything because I’m not a doctor, but I think you should find an endometriosis specialist in your area. You don’t have to have cysts to have endometriosis and pain killers help some people, and some they don’t at all! It’s so important to find someone who is specialized in endometriosis. A lot of general gynecologists aren’t fully educated on the disease. I’d recommend that you join the group “Nancy’s nook endometriosis education” page on Facebook! There you can educated yourself better on the disease, and they have a file that has an international list of endometriosis specialists. There you will be able to find the closest specialist to you. • @hannahlindoo
      @hannahlindoo  4 роки тому +5

      Hey Lilly! The worst of the pain would happen on days 1-3 and then it would slowly calm down during days 4-7 or 8. I wouldn’t say I ever had any days of my period that were pain free, but the pain became more manageable after the first few days.

I highly recommend that you become a member of Nancy’s Nook on Facebook. There’s a link in the description of this video. If you’re concerned that you may have endometriosis, it’s really important to find an endo specialist. Most general obgyns aren’t always the best equip to treat/diagnose endometriosis. It’s complex, and going to someone who isn’t a specialist can be discouraging, and you can end up being given inadequate treatment that can lead to more issues. Nancy’s Nook has lots of educational resources on endo and has a file of endo specialist and their contact info. PLEASE consider finding a specialist in your area, if possible. • @hannahlindoo

      From my experience, it seems that they won’t do the surgery because it’s the most invasive option and because of lack of experience with endometriosis. As soon as I found a specialist, it was totally different. She recommended surgery at my first appointment!
