1.lower the body before you touch the ball. Keep hand very losse. Chop.
    2. Let the ball come low for 2nd bounce before you flick it. Hip movement is important. Racket will stay open tilted slightly toward back. Thumb and index finger movement along.
    3. Follow the ball. Stay low. Pick the ball from low. Thumb and index finger movement along. Focus on wrist.

      2. I think the point of getting the racket to where the ball will bounce twice is to have some room to go forward...not to hit it low.

The wrist and fingers should be relaxed, yes, but if I lose the touch of the lower three fingers on the handle, I lose the precision. They do help to direct the ball.

Thanks for the video. But the serve doesn't seem to be heavy. What's your advice on returning short heavy backspin serves?

I tried the heaviest spin possible with a robot. The flick played right still does the job.

Everything makes sense, except for "rolling the ball" by changing the angle of the bat during the stroke. You can't hit the ball in two different planes at the same time. There's always one contact point. So changing the angle of the bat during the stroke will only bring inconsistency IMO
