He did play it live, on the premiere of tubular bells on may 15th 1973 at the queen elizabeth hall, here it is ua-cam.com/video/Ux31zffO2Vo/v-deo.html it starts at 29:20
The opening to side 2 of Tubular bells is truly beautiful music.. Brings me back to 13yr old me.. Used to listen to album countless times back then 58 now and still Iove it
Brilliant! Notoriously hard this (getting all the elements in order), even for MO. Oft-forgotten track. Been listening for 40 years + but I come back to this more often than the A side... never gets 'Old'. As Einstein - and I say this with the utmost respect - it takes an 'abnormal' brain to get to this level. Wish for his mind to be at peace but know that it never can be truly. Love you, Mike Oldfield.
Bravo Fadalack
After the chaos of part one's finale, this is a beautiful wee tune to take with you on a train, or a plane, or in the car, it gets you there feeling just fine and peaceful,,until the caveman goes nuts of course,,
Waited for the maya gold /ambient guitar piece. It's a hell of a job to play this right............ They did !! While other musicians struggle a lot with this part.
Never thought I'd get to hear this as it should be performed live. You guys really nailed it. I bow in your direction.
Mike never played this side B of Tubular Bells this way live, just like the record... World première!!!
Parma Abogados. yeah have never been able to find side b other than on the record

La parte "Ambient guitars" es increíble. Enhorabuena.
Fadalack got it SO CLOSE to the original recording...I wish they'd bring this concert here!

Lo mismo pasó conmigo.

incredible, many parts sound indistinguishable from the album version!
Thank you so much. Great work. The pure expression of beauty.
Great Job in the right tempo this time. Nice to hear other musicians haven't forgotten to play this music. Better then nowaday's sh#t
¡Gran trabajo!

I'm only now realizing how important the Organ was as an instrument for Tubular Bells.
and 3 organs at that! Mike used Farfisa, Lowrey and Hammond Organs on Tubular Bells.
