Absolutely love your new corral system. It is so logical. It shows how one man can manage the whole handling of a herd safely and alone. Good planning. Thanks for showing us.
Wishing everyone here on Our Wyoming life a very Happy & safe Thanksgiving. Great video Mike as always thanks for taking us along with you today. Take Care & God Bless all.
Hi Mike my name is Brandon I just recently found your channel through one of our subscribers that told us about your channel. My family and I’ve watched several videos of yours now and all I can say is you’ve got really good video content. Hope you you and your family have a happy Thanksgiving.
Hi. I've watched a good few of your videos. You're lucky to have your confidence and self esteem, and physical and mental abilities, and most of all resilience and inner confidence. glad it's worked for you. It's the inner confidence and resilience and esteem that is the fundamental foundation and the rest is very hard to build or hold together without those.
You have yourself a nice looking flock of young calves there Mike! That bail feeder may well enhance the growth potential for your flocks too with increased consumption and lessened waste. Hope you and your family have a Safe, Healthy, and Happy Thanksgiving! -Bob...
That hay distribution has got to be much more efficient and cost-effective!!!!!! Looks like an awesome piece of equipment to have on the ranch!!!!I Y'all have a SAFE and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!
So enjoy watching you work the cattle. Seems the bellowing has stopped. Separation anxiety 🥴 Thank you Mike as always! See you next week and Happy Thanksgiving.🦃
Howdy from west Texas! Good video! That poor cow dragging her hoof. I know you give a great deal of care to these cattle, so I know you care about her too. Check her foot and see what’s amiss. I’ve see. You do C sections...you care. Check it out my friend!
It looked like the trouble was up in the stifle area, not the foot. He can let her rest and see if it gets better, but in my experience it only gets worse.
@@nebraskafarmer9015 Thank you from this Iowa girl (Council Bluffs, transplanted in TX). I appreciate your expertise. I’m ignorant about livestock, but I could sure tell she was in pain.
Happy Thanksgiving Mike and family. I'm thankful for farmers and ranchers putting in the extra work to provide food on my family's table! Thanks for all you do.
Maybe the title should be "Moooving the calves"😄! I know, sick pun, but I couldn't help it. Thanks for sharing Mike and have a great Thanksgiving this year.
2 questions, have your considered/asked/ pondered if you could get a buried culvert under the highway so you could drive the cattle between properties.? 2 have you shown or done the math in eventually keeping your animals to final market size and keep all the $$ without selling to a feedlot?
Good video Mike. Im curious, have you ever heard of windrow grazing? Ive been exploring new methods and manners of winter feeding and came across that method. It sounds very interesting, but as with any farming, it takes timing and luck to come out right.
Thanks for a great video. The best to you and yours at this; really messed up, holiday season. Take the time and enjoy that beautiful family of yours. Holiday Wishes.
Looks like with this new hay feeder you need a modification to either the tractor or the feeder. A "dinner bell" so the calves that were half an acre away know it is time to eat. Just joking I'm sure they will catch on if they get hungry enough. Not sure if cattle can see John Deere green or not. How many horses do you have, if you only have a few would it not be better to move them either in with the bulls or back across the road with the other cows? That way the calves could benefit from the new licks.
Very good video! Excited to see how easy the Arrowquip system works for you loading all those calves by yourself! Also I’m glad all went smooth for the move. Sorry that you can’t use the lick barrels. Do they make one that is safe for the horses or will you just feed other supplements to them? Will be interesting to find out. Good luck with the calves and have a wonderful Thanksgiving! God Bless! ❤️
I like your videos, but when you point the camera into the sun we really can't see a whole lot. I've noticed this a few times. Thought you might want to know. You are great though! I run cows and calve in the Spring also in southwest Kansas. Keep doing a great job!
Hey Mike, maybe you can try another mineral lick for horses and cows. That hay bale roller really cool it rolls the bales out in no time. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family 🦃🍽😋😉
How do you feed the creepfeed? Because i suspect you don't want the horses to eat/hog that stuff either. Here we have creepfeeders that won't allow cows in, only calves. Those licktubs would work in there to.
@@miriambertram2448 The supplement contains rumensin which cannot be broken down by non ruminating animals which then becomes toxic. Rumensin (monensin) is a specialized type of antibiotic known as an ionophore that improves rate of weight gain in growing cattle. Rumensin® works in the following three ways: Promotes the growth of gram negative bacteria by reducing gram positive bacteria in the rumen. Gram negative bacteria promote increased gain in cattle by increasing the amount of propionic acid produced, which acts as an energy source for cattle. Reducing methane production (an energy loss) in the rumen. Rumensin also decreases the breakdown of natural proteins in the rumen, thereby increasing the amount of by-pass protein.

A one-person operation sometimes happens! Let us know if you'd like more info, Lois. :)
That new tub and panels seem like they are awesome for one person to load cattle out of 👍
The arrowequip looked like it made your job much easier than before.

We'd love to hear how you thought it went, Judy. :)
@@Arrowquip he made it look easy! Pretty nifty system....I wish we had something like that when I was growing up.
Mike, you mentioned that this way takes a little more time. What's time to a calf? Lol
Mike I must say it looks like you could use a cattle pod trailer and semi to help you
I thought that first load was going out the gate onto the hi-way. Then I remembered the cattle guard. Duh.
Your own little cattle drive!
Have any calves you are getting rid of? I'm getting a horse and she'll need a friend! Just checking. 😄
I like your videos, but when you point the camera into the sun we really can't see a whole lot. I've noticed this a few times. Thought you might want to know. You are great though! I run cows and calve in the Spring also in southwest Kansas. Keep doing a great job!

Damn, that is a missed opportunity! It should have been"Moovin calves"!
How do you feed the creepfeed? Because i suspect you don't want the horses to eat/hog that stuff either. Here we have creepfeeders that won't allow cows in, only calves. Those licktubs would work in there to.
The "empties", perfect. Or, no deposit, no return.
It was "deposit, no return"... The bulls did their part. At any rate, off to market with 'em!
Hey Mike creep feed has an ionophor in it too
Feeding calves anything with horses in the same pasture is a real pain, the horses will push the calves or cows off the feed.
Have a very nice Thanksgiving. Just how big is that pasture that you moved the calves into? Looks nice n big for them to roam
roundup 'em up and move 'em out Rawhide! or something like that :)
Are you keeping any heifers for replacements out of this bunch
Hi, I was wondering what the blue and turquoise tags were for?? Happy Thanksgiving to all!
I am moving to Wyoming TO live in the mountains
Can't you move the horses to another field/location?
I expect there is a reason for the horses. I wouldn't know.

Where did the Cab Over truck come from? I don't remember it from other videos.
He got it from his neighbor Gary a few months back.
Let's help each other to grow
are you keeping new heffers on the farm??
Mike, why you not keep dog to help with those cattle
Mike - why are YOU limping?
Yes, I noticed that too...
Must be only a 16ft trailor
What’s the story on the semi? And have you always had that duramax?
Mike do not have to cover those bales in field in Ireland go bad with rain
I may have missed it... but what size trailer is that?
I once had 17 hd of approx 500 lbrs on my 16ft trailer and it was "packed". Lol
What is the fence like structure behind the trailer in the calf lot?
