i agree with the boat part. But i will never understand why people are mad it has a tailgate, having a tailgate is a plus💀💀 The Audi RS5 Sportback has a tailgate and that’s a beautiful car.
@@BasedStarClips Because it's a Charger, not an Audi RS5. My Challenger was on of the first cars I owned in a while that had a trunk and I loved it! I'm not going to home depot in that car to buy plywood...sorry
I've owned Dodges (practically) my entire adult life. Until their CEO publicly admits the power crystal (any system wherein a consumer has to pay extra to use features or capabilities that are already built into the vehicle they own) is a mistake that insults their customers, and apologizes for not firing the person who suggested it, I'll never buy another.
It’s not unthinkable that the new Charger platform can accommodate batteries w/motors or an internal combustion engine. If the platform was developed from the ground up with both power plants in mind, it’s easy.
I have heard that some major car companies were cutting back on their EV development programs. This is my observation. A year ago, I would take a trip in an interstate highway, I was amazed at the number of Tesla cars that I saw. Lately, while traveling on the interstate, I am amazed at the number of Tesla cars that I see on used car haulers!
Well i mean its common sense are you suprised lol this liberal junk will not survive now the tech just aint there yet. I cant believe people even take this serious.
I think if you pop a 392 in that Banshee.... you got a HOT seller! I'd say leave the I6 to "Sports" car models. I want to see "Sports" cars with that engine. Leave the V8 to "Muscle" cars. As for trucks and SUIVs... That's another story. Great video bud!
I didn't know until now that the Charger Daytona was finally being offered with Hurricane 6. The Hemi or at least a V8 will eventually return. Nothing against EV's they're a fine idea, but NOT in a muscle car.
Glad there looks set to be a new ICE Dodge - if you look at the rest of the Stellantis portfolio, there are several examples of cars available as gasoline or full electric. See the Peugeot 208, Vauxhall Corsa, Opel Astra and perhaps more pertinently, the Maserati GranTurismo and Grecale. Batteries are placed in areas such as the transmission tunnel in the EV versions.
Great video, good food for thought RacerX. You touched on some good points from the performance point of view. My take on the forced induction engines is how long will they last? I purchased a 2006 charger Daytona R/T torred red brand new (divorce present) lol. I still own this car to this day 314k and counting. (Original drivetrain). I also purchased a 2021 scat pack brand new. IMO the naturally aspirated engine hemi will have a longer service life than the twin turbo engine offerings. The question in time to come is will the forced induction engines hold up in long run? Time will tell. But I have my doubts.
I don’t think you will be seeing extremely high mileage out of these forced induction engines. They will perform but I’m sure they will run into problems under 100k miles
It's not just about the power it produces, the hemi is loved by many from all ages because of its sound, feel reliability, and how iconic it is. just the v8 alone is iconic for Americans because it's THE quintessential American engine, ik alot of older Americans that refuse to buy cars that aren't v8s
Maybe Dodge should Worry about selling all The different variations of chargers and challengers they have sitting on there lots Before coming out with more cars in 2024 🤦🏻
A hybrid turbo i6 would be a great used car for tuners. That setup could easily push 550hp with a tune and bolt-ons. If you can picked up a used one in 10 years for $15k that would be a great value
Seriously, the exhaust note makes all the difference. If the Hurricane can sound respectable... maybe. But I do have a Scat Pack in the garage, so not likely.
Good stuff, Racer. To answer your question: I already went over to Ford. Taking delivery of that Dark Horse in about 12 days. Just can't do a V6 in a muscle car.
Hey racer x good video as always. Correction on the s650 mustang is it not heavier than the s550 that is simply myth that was put there by some influencers who hated on it. Check CJ pony parts makes a video comparing the s550 base 2015 which was the lightest to base s650 and premiym. The base s650 is 3740lbs while the premium with brembo package s650 is 3780 n base s550 is 3780lbs. It is not heavy amd yes the performance is similar is simply s550 with added goodies on it.
I read in two different places that the S650 GT comes in at 3946lbs. Then I looked at Fords website and it says it comes in at 3827 for the manual. My car was 3660 .. so about 150lbs according to Ford's website
The 3946lbs is fully loaded dark horse and the 3827lbs is fully loaded gt with pp and magneride with full tank of gas so the s550 2018 with pp n magneride was 3860 with equivalent gas in the tank.
@@RacerX9 Check with U-Tube channel CJ Pony Parts for weight of the S650. They weighed a S650 & S550 GT premiums on their U-Tube channel showing both at 3840 lbs. The S650 Mustang GT base 3740 lbs. Regarding performance. The 10R80 S650 Mustang GT tested by motor Trend ran a 12.2 - 116.8 mph on street tires. The 10R80 Dark Horse ran 12.0 - 118.4 mph on street tires. The slower times came from manual transmission Mustangs proving if you're into drag racing. Go with the 10R80.
I’d actually pick the dodge even if we don’t get the v8. I don’t think ford does a good job when it comes to their performance products unless it’s a shelby.
It will be interesting to see what they do. The hurricane engine is definitely no slouch and will be easily tunable for more horsepower. I know we all love the V8 sound, but this new car chassis will be lighter and handle better, to compete with American muscle and European offerings.
Crossing my fingers that the charger Daytona has an ice engine. I currently own a charger RT with a 5.7 hemi. I love the car. I love V8’s. I love Hemi’s. But I’d gladly take a hurricane in line 6 Charger over an EV.
I would definitely stay dodge with the hurricane six. EV never!!!! the six could really make some power. I love the new look of the car just not the EV option.
I agree with you,, some folks think that everything gotta have a v8 to be a fun fast sports car,,, well it doesn’t. We just like fast cool cars. Them v8 dudes can cry some more, they just gonna sound cool and fast but be getting gapped by I6s, I4s and EVs.
I could be wrong but the 2.0l 4xe would be the most ideal powertrain for a entry level gt charger, stepping up the 420hp hurricane SO in an R/T and probably a 525hp HO hurricane-6 in a Charger Super Bee. The Charger is going to be an all around better car than the mustang especially with some direct connection upgrades, jailbreak packages and so on. I know people are saying about the prototype truck being a TRX but strategically speaking it would seem to lend itself more to being a rebel than a trx. Reason I say that is a hurricane is closer to the output of a regular raptor whereas the trx and raptor r are really the two trucks that compete. It would make sense for the Rex to continue on with a cleaner hellcat powertrain, leaving everything else move forward with a hurricane-6. Just my thoughts.
You bring up some interesting points. I think it's way too late for them to try and develop a cleaner hellcat platform thou especially if it would only be used in the TRX since everything else hellcat powered is going to be done. They could do something similar to the raptor thou and offer the TT I6 in the standard TRX and still use the hellcat platform in a higher trim or special edition model. Keep production numbers low to where they would have a minimal effect on their CAFE numbers. That's the only way I see a supercharged V8 staying in the picture thou.
Hey Racer X I am pretty sure you already know but the Sterling heights plant shut down yesterday. For the Ram 1500 and TRX I ship HVAC units to this plant so that's how I know it is getting crazy lol
I'm not loyal to any brand, I'm loyal to the V8. There are many V6 platforms that I like, but love the V8. Yes you can get a lot of horse power out of a turbo 6. I don't race just occasional spirited driving. So no more V8 no more Dodge. Thanks for the content.
The Charger EV will most likely be the sister car to the Maserati GT Fulgore. The Maserati has a large battery that runs down the middle. Where the trans tunnel is on a gas car. These spy photos could still be an EV.
Never understood the v8 or bust attitude. I've owned turbo 4 cylinders, modified v6's and currently a scat pack charger and they were all fun in their own way. I love a v8 rumble but i still miss hearing a turbo from time to time and with a tune turbo cars get much more out of them then N/A cars.
Great show as usual man, lots of exciting stuff going on anyway, I think my next kind of car is gonna be a challenger with a shaker hood naturally aspirated V8 hemi, of course lol… Keep on rocking
I’m just a dude who likes cool cars, I feel like that Dodge charger with the Hurricane HO is gonna be a hit, basically dodge’s Bmw M4,,, and it’s relatively easy to get good power out of an in-line 6. I could care less about which or what engine is in a car, as long as it’s not EV. If this new charger can live up to the performance and speed that is dodge, they can take my money.
I think my only issue would be that it has to be as good as the b58 or s58. And it can not keep the same heavy body over 4k ibs and have the same interior. Been that way for far too long they gotta upgrade some stuff. So im with you if the i6 is like the BMW car then Dodge is good. But if its not and they offer the same everything else, they gonna go belly up like Chrysler.
I'm sure Dodge will make sure they put a decent exhaust system on it. I-6s are great engines, and there aren't any rules for engine configurations in a muscle car, it just has to be relatively powerful, which v8s happened to be.
I have the best of both worlds a 1972 Charger Rally 440 Six Pack and a2016 Scat Pack challenger. I can drive the challenger anywhere and do whatever I want to the Charger
The V8 will always sound and feel better than a twin turbo 6 or EV. It’s about the driving experience. Every time I hear an EV, souped-up golf cart comes to mind. Every time I hear a twin turbo 6 on UA-cam, my BMW e61 comes to mind. I don’t think I’ll ever get rid of my Hemi Jeep although it’s almost 20 years old at this point.
I personally don't like the idea of a charger with a inline 6, it just doesn't scream classic Dukes of Hazzard General Lee 340, 383, 426 or 440 Magnum v8. It will purr 3.0 litre inline 6 500+ HP, which I think should be put in a brand new built 2025 Srt Viper .
The Charger with the different powertrain options, from mild to wild, is becoming more like what BMW offers, with the Toyota Supra as an mention by Japanese styling. With a manual transmission and AWD, it would even be more like an American Skyline GT-R. These are interesting times.
I remember the Buick grand national when it came out. And v8 guys were saying the same thing as they do now. Then when they found out the GN was smoking all the v8s including corvettes they changed there tuned. That’s all dodge is doing is making a modern day GN. Damn the sound. U can sound good all u want if u getting smoked on the line by that v6 u will be embarrassed for 1 and that sound won’t matter.
I would definitely pick the Mustang! The Charger doesn’t look bad though. The thing is: There’s nothing appealing about an American sports car with a 6 cylinder… If I wanted a 6 cylinder, I would get a German or Japanese car! 🇺🇸 = V8
I am happy American muscle is still alive. Has anyone wonder why all companies are in such a hurry to make their companies all EV? Our power grid can not handle all the energy we need much less the ability to charge all evs.
Dodge sold way more 4 door Chargers than 2 door Challengers. Not sure what Stellantis is thinking! Building an ICE is smart. In Europe they offer flexible platforms that can offer ICE, EV, Hybrid
I personally think that Dodge and Chevy will debut new vehicles that compete with the Mustang in the next few years. I don't see either of them exiting the market completely or going full EV. Just my $.02
They Arnt new hemi already leaked and it's all based on government regulation ford will have to go i6 to eventually if the democrats keep getting elected. 5.0 less emission no matter what compared to 6.2 or 6.4 so they were able to keep their motor dodge and chevy would and will have to make new v8 hybrids like er ay and like said a new hemi leaked.

But as far as for Dodge on there muscle cars Customers are not just looking for a 6CYI engine under the hood, they still want that Hemi V8 engine ,because that's what make that brand Successful !!
@@RSJerelle_ The GN / GNX was a product related to the "malaise era".
Back in the 70s, Buick stopped production of their V8.
They had the V6 left and worked with that engine instead.
They basically did the best they could with the engine they had available…
If it wasn’t for the 70s oil crisis, the GNX would have had a V8 for sure.
Don’t get me wrong, I like 4 and 6 cylinder engines!
Just not in an American car.
The V8 is part of American car culture!

dodge is playing games. im done. im buying a last call challenger, they are making it all to confusing. everyday it changes
The problem with the charger is its a boat and hatchback
i agree with the boat part.

If you could put a 510 hp Huricane 3 liter in a Dodge Hornet then you would have a fast car !
I’d rather drop it in a dodge dart if it was possible.
Care less how fast it is. I want a hard rumble.
Well, so do i, but im pretty sure that shit is over.

@@thanosianthemadtitanicYou beat me to it she said that too
At this point I’m really starting to consider a Camaro!
Dynamically better than other two. Too bad they didn't upgrade it.
Its also dead, only mustang is left
They have absolutely garbage interiors
That must have been the Hellbee that Joe Raiti went "On Throttle" in.
As a hellcat owner I would much rather the mustang. If I wanted a 6 banger I would’ve gotten a BMW.
Their is nothing fine about it tell me one thing good about an electric vehicle. Bunch of sheep racing to the slaughter. 😂
Im not worried about speed, I bought my car because I love the sound of the Hemi. The Banshee is nice but I’ll pass until they put a Hemi in it
Thanks Paul amazing work as always brother!
It's not just about the power it produces, the hemi is loved by many from all ages because of its sound, feel reliability, and how iconic it is. just the v8 alone is iconic for Americans because it's THE quintessential American engine, ik alot of older Americans that refuse to buy cars that aren't v8s
I never thought I’d say this but I’d get a ford v8 over then new 6 cyl charger. A car needs to sound good too not only about speed
Maybe Dodge should Worry about selling all The different variations of chargers and challengers they have sitting on there lots Before coming out with more cars in 2024 🤦🏻
They’ve already tested the most roadkill nights in a drag pack challenger and it wasn’t revived well . But I’ll go down with the ship I guess
I don't care what it is, As long as it's fast.
A hybrid turbo i6 would be a great used car for tuners. That setup could easily push 550hp with a tune and bolt-ons. If you can picked up a used one in 10 years for $15k that would be a great value
Doesn't even need the bolt ons. The hurricane has been announced to push 540hp on the 2024 ram 1500.
Thar setup would probably push closer to 700hp with bolt ons and a tune.
Seriously, the exhaust note makes all the difference. If the Hurricane can sound respectable... maybe. But I do have a Scat Pack in the garage, so not likely.
It should sound good. Most german V6’s like The RS6 and M3 sounds pretty damn good
That spy photo of that Charger shell sitting there has me interested. 2 dr Baby. It's Back!
Good stuff, Racer. To answer your question: I already went over to Ford. Taking delivery of that Dark Horse in about 12 days.
Just can't do a V6 in a muscle car.
My guess is the hypothetical combustion engine option will be the lower or maybe middle end of the power levels, while the electric will have the most
Great vid racer! You made a great point today I’m actually debating this new hurricane!
The new 5 series is dual purpose. Both an EV and ICE platform.
I’m considering adding a Hot Mustang to my Hellcat collection.
Sounds like stepping on the cat’s tail made me laugh 😂😂😂😂😂
Keep in mind, Tim stated that even with an electric motor, it will still have a transmission.
Your car was base n did u by any chance have full tank of gas the one I said have close to full tank
True i also saw that video and many other weight comparison videos. Their weight is similar and in most cases the s550 is even heavier than the s650
Im with you x if it goes fast give it a chance.
Crossing my fingers that the charger Daytona has an ice engine. I currently own a charger RT with a 5.7 hemi. I love the car. I love V8’s. I love Hemi’s. But I’d gladly take a hurricane in line 6 Charger over an EV.
I was hell no to electric but the Corvette with both and it rips plus stealth mode game changer
I would definitely stay dodge with the hurricane six. EV never!!!! the six could really make some power. I love the new look of the car just not the EV option.
There’s nothing appealing about an American sports car with a 6 cylinder…
If I wanted a 6 cylinder, I would get a German or Japanese car!
@@Timmer2022 exactly!
Hey Racer X I am pretty sure you already know but the Sterling heights plant shut down yesterday. For the Ram 1500 and TRX I ship HVAC units to this plant so that's how I know it is getting crazy lol
I have a 2019 ScatPack shaker manual, but if I were to get a new car I'd go Darkhorse rather than hurricane for sure.
I cant believe the amount of fools who would even buy a dodge or Fiat
I get so tired of the internet speculations.
I believe it when I see it!
Racer X friend keep up the great work 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸😃😃💪💪👍👍👍👍
When the 2024 Mustangs computers are finally hacked, the HP potential will be just like the old days while the Dodge V6 will always be limited.
RacerX- How are the sells on the Hornet. I have yet to see one on the road and my local dealership has two collecting dust?
They initially sold well in my area but I think they may have cooled off
Great show as usual man, lots of exciting stuff going on anyway, I think my next kind of car is gonna be a challenger with a shaker hood naturally aspirated V8 hemi, of course lol… Keep on rocking
Dodge is junk my 22 charger went back to the dealer four times
Why you say naturally aspirated like there's another option besides NA for the shaker cars.
Majestic af eyes
The Dodge Charger Daytona is a nice looking car. I'll purchase one only if it's AWD with a manual transmission and hurricane engine.
I am still a Dodge/ Chrysler fan! Prices are a major issue for most of Americans in the middle class making less than 80K.
I love V8’s but that Inline 6 twin turbo is ftw for me
Been donating to Dream Giveaway for years. Best believe i win one of those cars it would be one hell of a thing to be in a video with RacerX.
This sounds more like a sales pitch for dodge instead of a equal comparison.
I'm sure Dodge will make sure they put a decent exhaust system on it. I-6s are great engines, and there aren't any rules for engine configurations in a muscle car, it just has to be relatively powerful, which v8s happened to be.
I’m with you. Whatever gets me the winning time slip.send it.
I have the best of both worlds a 1972 Charger Rally 440 Six Pack and a2016 Scat Pack challenger. I can drive the challenger anywhere and do whatever I want to the Charger
I would just get a 13-14 GT500 😊

@@mustangmike3830 check out my youtube page.COBRA THERAPY!!! Its a 2014 GT500 😎
You know the chargers going to have that high output hurricane engine
It's more like the m4.
I have a Challenger GT and just got my 2024 Mustang GT… I love the V8 way to much to not go for one next time around
I'd gladly buy a Hurricane Charger if the price wasn't absurd.
When I'm running from the police, I don't care what noise the car makes
JPC just went 9.5 @141 mph in their 2024 mustang with a 200 shot of nitrous (no tune)
i’d take the Charger. i have a 2016 Audi S4, and V6’s sound good enough so give me the Charger😂
I would definitely pick the Mustang!
The Charger doesn’t look bad though.

I am happy American muscle is still alive. Has anyone wonder why all companies are in such a hurry to make their companies all EV? Our power grid can not handle all the energy we need much less the ability to charge all evs.
I personally replace that V6TT with proper HEMI V8
Dodge sold way more 4 door Chargers than 2 door Challengers. Not sure what Stellantis is thinking!
Building an ICE is smart. In Europe they offer flexible platforms that can offer ICE, EV, Hybrid
If it has an engine option, it’ll only be a matter of time before somebody swaps it anyway. They just made it easier lol
AWD Charger will weigh 5000lbs.
