I have Analog Lab V, and access to Omnisphere...Hear me closely...Analog Lab V is not even close. Omnisphere is instant INSPIRATION
I too have access to both and think it differs person to person. For example, I've used both a heavy amount and never gotten inspiration from Omni, while always finding something I like in AL. For someone like me, Omnisphere is not even close. But thats what makes us all human or whatever haha
I have both. Each vst offers something different!!! If you play keys to have all those synths in Analog labs v would cost alot money!!! If you just talking about making some beats omnisphere is cool but you can recreate actual music from 45 years ago and duplicate the sound exactly with V. You can duplicate a time period!!!
Plz don't say that .u gonna make me Wana go all the way out to crack omnisphere and get inspired wayyyyy up to hollywood
So Arturia is not inspiring? Just their Analog Lab Play alone(a totally free VST)..is VERY inspiring and it's the very reason why I bought Analog Lab Pro, Pigments & the CS-80 synth. The analog modelling synths in Analog Lab are flawless recreations of many of the most iconic classic monster synths of the 70's and 80's, which is my vibe. With Arturia, I am not forced to spend $500 right off the bat and with Arturia's periodic sales, I save a staggering amount of money. There's no dongle, no e-licenser bullsh*t and adding installation via the software manager app, is so seamless. Speaking of seamless functionality, the overall layout of the GUI is amazingly intuitive, the FX are dope and the fluidity of layering sounds allows you to create without toiling over any steep learning curves. You can do ANY genre of music...from video game tunes, to film scoring with an orchestra of bread & butter instruments(which you c-a-n-n-o-t do in Omnisphere. Arturia is very CPU efficient and they will NEVER make you pay for each & ever time you re-install their software on a new PC or whatever. Also... there's plenty of new sounds libraries to choose from & they are very reasonably priced. You could spend thousands of dollars on Omnisphere and you STILL won't have everything you need to cover multiple genres of music production(whereas you can spend just $600 and have everything you need, more or less. Arturia is a different flavor from Omnisphere, but that doesn't mean Analog Lab is any less inspiring. So you favor Omnisphere and that's cool, but it's not fair to say that Arturia doesn't have it's own brand of inspiration.
Arturia Pigments is pretty awesome. I think that should be compared more to Omnisphere than Analog Lab.
I have both and each is amazing. I DO think it's important to note that Analog Lab is a stripped-down version of the V Collection. V Collection offers deep programming possibilities. Do some resynthesis and sample manipulation in Synclavier V and you are doing Omnisphere. Add in Pigments and you've got a powerful suite of instruments.
Totally agree!
Which version is he using for the video? is it the stripped down version or V collection? I would really like to buy it as it is from the presets he's shown. I'm sold man
So@@edavidmartinez Analog Lab V is essentially two things: first, it's a frontend that allows you to access all of the presets in the V Collection. It allows you to do some basic sound editing. But, to get into deep programming of each synth, that is where the V Collection comes in. You open the individual synths and can deep edit each! So, for example, you could open the Matrix 12 and have access to all of the actual parameters of the Matrix 12 including lag proccesors, ramps, and Multi creation within the Matrix 12. Perhaps you want to do some resynthesis? Open up the Synclavier V in Analog V and you have full access to the Synclavier itself. Also, the designers of the 250,000 dollar Synclavier worked with Arturia on the Synclavier V.
If you just want access to tons of presets with the ability to edit just the common parameters such as Cutoff, Resonance, and some filter editing, then Analog Lab V is excellent. If you want to get into truly deep editing, you need the V Collection.
One caution however: Omnisphere has one interface for the entire instrument whereas the V Collection gives you the interface of each synth, so, learning Matrix 12 is quite different from programming the Jupiter V or Prophet VS for example.
@@edavidmartinez he's using the "stripped down version". Actually it's the full Analog Lab V version, but it consists of synth presets. Many presets, which can also be altered to a certain degree. You can add the V Collection that gives you access to all the knobs and sliders you's have on the original synthesizers that are emulated. But even without the V Collection, you'll have tons of content. You're just a bit limited in creating your own sounds or simulating the exact sounds used by the likes of Vangelis (unless the sound is already there as an included preset).
Having said that: many Arturia midi-keyboards come with a full version of Analog Lab V. I bought a Keylab Essential for €150 that came with Analog Lab V, which is a great deal. Currently V Collection can be bought for €199, which is also a great deal.
Lets be honest it takes dedication to Master omni but if you learn omnisphere nothing touches it just has to many sounds you have to know what sounds you are looking for when making a beat.
I’m team Analog Labs. 1 - came free with my MIDI keyboard (the full version!) 2 - the space it takes up on my computer is far less than Omnisphere. 3 - it takes longer to load but crashes less often than Omni. 4 - less overwhelming when trying to lay out a fast idea BUT not use your go to sounds. 5 - looks better! Both have their place though.
Yes it's free but almost all of these sounds need adjustments like voices, depth and other things and basically if you want to really modify them you have to buy each synths that make each sound.
When I here omnisphere is site in monitors so well like you don’t even need any eq or processing it sounds complete the lab sounds good but it requires more processing I wonder if they use outboard gear for omnipshere samples ?
Woooow the ambiant piano in omnisphere sounds fantastic !
Definitely one of my favorites 😄
I've been using Omnisphere for years now and there are a couple of things I'm polar opposite on from this video. Firstly, I've never had it crash on me (on PC - maybe the Mac version has problems?) and it was the first synth that actually made sense to me for sound design. If I want to make a sound, all the controls are easy to find and easy to make your way towards your goal. Unlike other synths, I've never had a roadblock where it hasn't let me do something I wanted to do. The effects available are also way beyond anything else. Some other synths do things slightly better (like the unison effect on Serum), but overall, nothing comes close to Omnisphere right now IMO.
What I would LOVE to see is a head-to-head with Falcon 2 versus Omnisphere 2. I have both and love them but it would be fun to get your thoughts @Simulation Beats
I can try and get my hands on Falcon 2 and do something like that! 😄
Falcon is not even close to the same level as Omnisphere. The sound libs for it are terrible and overhyped. The only lib I ever used in Falcon was the Beatbox Anthology 2. The rest sound like free common midi sounds.
Yeah looking to get Analog Lab V on subscription... only because I can't afford Omnisphere lol . Hopefully there's some decent sounds on there 😭 thanks for the video
I am going to make a beat today with a Omnisphere ❤
That’s a whole lot you can do an analog five, just click on the names on the control and you can change the type of control from delayed to attack cut-off etc
Thanks Sim Beats !!!
What is CPU use like ? Ableton 11 sucks on CPU for my PC.
My Spectrasonics RMX uses little CPU but Spitfire Ludwig ( Labs ) drums is horrible CPU load, it sounds brilliant THOUGH.
But my plugins suck with Ableton especially Waves BB Tubes and certain Kush Plugins.
The last thing I want is a total CPU hog.
Reaper basically laughs at CPU with third parties and CPU hits about 8% max where Ableton just hits 30 40 and pops...
I am picking up am Arturia Key Lab I was buying FOR Omnisphere..but might forget that.
I just want a good piano rhodes synclavier moog and some basic doof keys for synths.
I'm more a classic Metal 70's and ( Big four Thrash ) Roots, Blues and Hip-hop style producer with some House ( hence rmx ) but grew up in clubs with Doof as well...but I will never get a high end cpu hog app. crashing is a worry and RMX Spectrasonics is quiet on my CPU load.
Thanks for the A B champ!
Omnisphere is a completely different beast to be honest, i use it daily for sound design.
Es muy pesado, para diseño de sonido seria mejor el Serum
I needed a better/more up-to-date midi keyboard with knobs and faders so I got the Arturia Keylab Essential mk3. It comes with Analog Lab Pro and some other vsts included! Pretty sweet deal if you ask me. I love the sounds and the hands on control of the controller keyboard! 220 euros 😮
I like Analog Lab V so much I just grabbed a Microsoft Surface Pro to put it and Roland Cloud on to make my own Frankenstein Astrloab like setup. I’d put my Komplete library on it too but the SSD on this model is not easily accessible ;)
Ability to run Analog Lab standalone a PLUS for this idea
Omnisphere is richer in sound and warmth. Analog Lab sounds thin without adding more to it. Pigments is better and closer to Omnisphere. Omnisphere is better overall and requires less EQing and just sounds better!
Arturia user here… I just copped omnisphere. Came in the mail and as soon as I cracked this joint open (JUST LOOKING AT PRESETS), I was able to find over 90 presets that were beat ready in a couple minutes. That in itself, plus the other 13,960 sounds and synthesis and layering ability justifies its price. In music, don’t be scared of paying the premium, omnisphere is miles ahead of essentially any synth except Falcon 9 but that doesn’t compare to the sounds omni does. Analog lab is a rompler of sorts and you can’t actually synthesize or modify the presets much without V Collection X from arturia, and even then, it doesn’t go into deep modulation. Omnisphere will allow you to make anything you could make in serum, pigments etc but it’s got so much more that I can’t drag on. Buy it yourself. It’s a beast for 500 USD.
i have both
$99 now black friday sale analog lab
Tried both, omnisphere is great but I sticked with analog lab V easier to handle for me....
Would be better to compare omnisphere with pigments they are more close together...
Totally agree, personally. And I’ll have to check out pigments!
Not sure how you can compare these two solutions. Analog lab is a collection of virtual synths and Omnisphere is a synth on its own with a much broader function set. It's like comparing a Steinway with a Prophet 5. What's the point?
Aquí hay una cosa y es que los sintetizadores virtuales que hay en el analog, no solo son software sino que también existen en hardware y Omnisphere es solo software
IDK about this comparison scenario. Ultimately you were comparing Analog Lab V "INTRO" so yes it is very limiting with presets & instruments. Its the free version of the software so maybe this wasn't a fair comparison. Analog Lab Pro has way more presets, plus presets that you can purchase & more options to layer 2 instruments vs just presets. Also purchasing the entire V Collection then you could have access to just as many presets, individual instruments plus their presets & additional purchasable sound banks as Omni. Omni may very well be a better choice for some in the end but with Arturia they are still one of the best!! Both are 2 very different beasts to me.
Nothing can come to Omnisphere. It's creator - Eric Persing is GOAT.
But it is very heavyweight in CPU consuming and load time and GUI appearance time. And dat crashes 😢
A mio parere sono due VST completamente diversi, è difficile fare un paragone. Parliamo di due prodotti sicuramente validi.
You can also upgrade Analog Lab to V Collection. 10,000 presets and full editing. I think analog lab intro to pro is $69 how much the upgrade to V collection from there is no idea but think buying outright is similarly priced to omnisphere
I've used both of them , but analog lab is better for me 💯
Very nice!
I feel so lucky that i got lab 5 play for free
Why do so many UA-camrs use the neon style background colours now? I feel like I started the trend years ago lol. Glad I stopped. But.... I may be back doing the live shows in 2024 (minus the outdated neon) :D
Weird
Strange comparison , Analogue lab is just the presets from V collection, which is a similar price to omnispere! Why not compare similar products ?
Omni sphere I haven't used yet but omnisphere got the best atmosphere sounds no doubt
Nice video Mr beast 🎉
lol thank you 🙏
I never really been a rabid fan of Spectrasonics, as they are overpriced, they never go down in price, never have sales and they charge you a fee for each new installation on a PC. If you were to invest the same amount of money in Arturia, you'd get a lot more. Also....recently, Arturia has released a completely free version of Analog Lab(which is called Analog Lab Play.) Omnisphere would NEVER do such a thing...
All very valid points. I’ve had to pay multiple times to get Omni and keyscape on different devices, so I definitely feel that 😅
Analog Lab for sure.
Omnisphere is better IMO. Analogue lab is great but it just falls short for me 🙂
Thank you for sharing!
In what way ?
@@DMNDBEATZ Well, the range of sounds is just staggering but also I find that editing and creating sounds with omnisphere is way better for me as you can create a much wider range of textures. 🙂
@@lancegfoin9117 been considering pigments 4 have u tried that
Please send mep
Serum is edm too😂
Arturia products are more flexible for me.
the problem with omnisphere its that if you know what you looking for its amazing !!! but if you scrooling looking for presets !!! its more unussuable presets than the actually good ones!!!
Toooootally agree 👍
Analog Lab inside Astrolab ❤
I don’t think it’s a fair comparison to compare Omnisphere to Analog Lab by itself. Omnisphere is better. But if you’re comparing Omnisphere to Analog Lab powered by the whole V Collection, V Collection beats Omnisphere.
For me, less is more. I like childlike simplicity and a pretty interface. I can just engage with Analog Lab more easily. Omnisphere looks sterile and feels like hard work.
this video is inaccurate. you can change the synth wave tables and other things when you hover over the synth each preset analog lab is using, you see a button that says "open Prophet-VS" and you can change the synth parameters for each plugin they all seperately use.
I’m using using the lite version in which you can’t do that. I mentioned I’m using the lite version a couple times
I mean analog lab can never make a horror movie fx🤷♂️
Very true. Omni has a lot of great FX and texture sounds! So if that's your game, than that's for sure the better option
Congrats on crashing Omnisphere. I’ve never seen that done. I’ve owned both for along time, Omnisphere has better sounds, there’s just too many to go through to get to the good ones. Omnisphere needs an update so you don’t have to go through so many pages to design sounds.
Really appreciate your level headed opinion. A lot of people just say that one is trash and anyone who thinks otherwise is stupid 😅 so thank you 🙏
I wonder whats his processor, memory and HD capacity is. I played Omni using a absolute dinosaur many years ago and It rarely crashed.
Analog Lab is far more superior.
Apples and Oranges.
Both are delicious 😋
I think Arcade better than both
A Lab 5 is better
