I grew up with the Beatles and I love this movie. I've added Himesh's version of 'I want to hold your hand' on my play list. For me, what's saying something. .
Showing "Something" in the trailer and then taking it out of the final cut was a grievous error of judgement on the editor's part. Who else was looking forward to seeing it in the movie only to come away feeling short changed?
@shimmeringreflection, I waited even until the credits were over thinking they’d pull a “Ferris Bueller” and sneak it in at the very end. Disappointing...
shimmeringreflection it’s in the deleted scenes, and it makes sense that they cut it IMO due to Jack flirting with the other guest on the show (who he was singing something to). But then they shouldn’t really put it in the trailer
"Hey dude" was one of the best movie lines ever. I'm not an Ed Sheehan fan and couldn't pick his music from a lineup, but I love the guy in this movie. Anyone that is "important" and makes fun of themselves gets my applause. Good job Ed.
Kula Shaker wrote a song in the 90's called Hey Dude, I was shocked that in the movie they pretended it to be an original idea. Hated this movie in every way.
The casting of a relatively unknown Himesh Patel was absolutely brilliant. I mean, I had never heard of him. His performance from start to finish had my full attention. Along with the rest of cast. Such a great movie. Danny Boyle is a genius. Trainspotting for life ✌️
Hands down to this man I never listen to beatles I never give them chance but after listening to this man in movie I fell in love with beatles now love every song of them lots of love❤❤❤
wild heart, I went to see it & STILL bought the online version. I’ve lost count of the number of times I have watched it, I have to get my Himesh/Jack fix on a daily basis anymore. ❤️🥰❤️
Yes I was disappointed that "Something" was not in the final cut of the film. I also have wondered about the performance of "Help" it was more of a screaming match than a version of the actual song. However I have also thought that perhaps it was performed the way it was because the character was breaking down and maybe he was actually crying for HELP. Regardless I very much enjoyed the film and have watched it several times and two of those times when it was released in the theaters.
I believe this would coincide with the reality that the Beatles were feeling at the time they released Help. The Stardom had begun to overwhelm the opportunity for artistic expression. It was no longer what it was when it started. Great element which I think was very intentional in the movie.
I tear up more to the Beatles then any other sound they captured the hearts of many and brought so many people together not only for rock but for love to all mankind
Just watched Yesterday with Himesh Patel for the 3rd time. Great choice with Himesh playing this part. Even better is it's still possible to make a successful Beatles movie and this is very much in the same theme as the originals.
I really enjoyed this movie! I've actually watched it twice now. That's not something I normally do. Love the concept of a difference timeline. Also Himesh's versions of the songs he places is so good! I 've been enjoying them on SPotify. His love interest, played my Lily James was great as well. I highly recommend anyone to have a watch.
I LOVE this movie, but I wish this scene had been included. It really gives a little more depth to Ellie's character and that only strengthens the storyline.
Himesh has a beautiful fantastic voice and does the Beatles songs the proper performance they deserve. The only thing lacking were the incredible harmonies the Beatles (John, Paul and George) had in the songs which were not recreated in the film. One example was SHE LOVES YOU with those great harmonies on the "YEAHS" and the "WOOS" Himesh only sings one part. Perhaps they could have overdubbed him doing all the parts
Or his brothers Sanjay and Kumar should have been in the band. Honestly yesterday and some of the others work well solo, but back in the ussr without a band? Come on now
I am seriously disappointed the Something scene did not make into the movie, it was a beautiful scene. The song itself is a good enough reason, its Frank Sinatra's favorite love song. i mean how could they??
Yes love I'm listening to Jack's new song 'Leave him be'. Jack: No 'Let it Be'! Oh, Let him be. Jack: No it's 'Let it Be'. And you will be the first to hear it! Please Dad just listen for a moment. Oh... here's the company. Sorry Jack.
I would’ve died of happiness if Chris Martin had been in this movie, Coldplay is my favoriteee, but he didn’t want to be cause he wanted to spend time with his family, oh well😢
I prefer to think that Marty Mcfly and Doc Brown were up to their usual shenanigans and that’s how the world lost the Beatles, coke, cigarettes and Harry Potter.
Very disappointed your link to "More with Himesh Patel" was just a repeat of this video and a short article. I thought it would be the ENTIRE interview, dammit.
The recording technology at the time is what disinterested me in the Beatles. Much like Black Sabbath, I can't stand the originals and wish they could be remastered, better. I believe the song should transcend the artist. That's why I like these versions of the Beatles work - along with the soundtrack to Backbeat - better. It goes that way with a lot of covers. Example: Everyone I know says Chuck Berry' - Jonny B. Goode could never be improved on after the Marty McFly and the Starlighters performance back in 1955. Can you say different?
Remasters exist now? I know this because i was updating spotify playlists recently. Obviously mastering engineers can only work with what they have. What do want them to do? Brick wall limit all The Beatles tracks? There still needs to be dynamics in the tracks after remastering.
So that means you are not interested in any music that was recorded on analog equipment? So you're "disinterested" in the Rolling Stones, The Doors, The Kinks, Sinatra, and other greats?
To think Chris Martin would've been part of the movie instead than Ed Sheeran gave me so many possibilities of an alternate reality and it makes me sad🙊
Theres something about an actor that doesn't dress like hes the richest man in the world. Shows that he does movies for the love of doin movies & not the money & fame.
I don’t wanna be a hater but ‘Yesterday’ literally makes no sense at all in so many ways. I adore the Beatles and this film is like trying to admire something you know nothing about. I would loveeee to see a ‘Yesterday’ that realistically changes the events of history, like effects on genres and future music that the Beatles had an effect on, not Ed Sheeran and Coca Cola lmao
This movie sucked sooooo bad. But it wasn't because of the songs, Himesh (amazing actor!) and the rest of the cast. It truly was because of the way the movie went storywise. It's ending suuuuuucked.
Himesh Patel's performance in this movie was absolutely stellar. Hope the Beatles magic propels his career into the stratosphere :-)
Ditto to that!! Goosebumps....
I love this movie!!!!

I heard Eastenders want him back, like...yesterday!👍
Clive Bindley, Easrenders is so...Yesterday

It better be in the Director's Cut
I hope it shows up in extended version, so dissappointed

@@hobbygamer6220 I agree. That's why I put the word important in quotes to indicate psuedoimportant.

Himesh was the best choice for this movie.
interesting take, since he was the one cast
Taron Egerton is far more talented.
I’d buy his version of the songs
You can ;)
@@davelanger The soundtrack is fantastic! Himesh Patel's take on the songs is wonderful!
But he already uploaded all the songs on the internet.
Spotify has the entire soundtrack
MannyManMan, they are on iTunes.
This film was beautifully made….. I would buy an album with Himesh singing……very good …..emotive and endearing voice ❤️🙏🏻
Hands down to this man I never listen to beatles I never give them chance but after listening to this man in movie I fell in love with beatles now love every song of them lots of love❤❤❤
Life is richer if it contains the Beatles.
unbelievable 😑
I was never a fan of the Beatles music til i watched these videos of him singing the songs.
I bought this movie. I've never even watched a movie twice before. Absolutely its because of his talent
Not even like Harry Potter or Star Wars or Jurassic Park or something?

Absolutely wonderful performance Himesh Patel
Has risen to one of my top 10 films and never expected it to tbh. Brilliant acting (and casting) tight script-need to see more of him.
Dude absolutely crushed this movie.
Kinda funny. In the movie the Beatles made his career and in real life the Beatles sort of made his career.
very good observation
I mean, it's not Coldplay. It's not fix you.
It's not bloody FIX YOU, Carol
Coldplay is trash
@Phi Vai dude tell me one good coldplay classic

What a great film! Well done Mr Patel, well done
ah yes my favorite marvel story line. the one where the avengers bring back the beatles so they can fight thanos
it was never about fighting thanos. it was about the music, and all the lonely people.

OMG the Let It Be scene is hilarious. 'What's it called?' 'Leave it be'
Top class film top class actors
Even his singing reminded me of the Beatles, just had that 1960s flavour to it
Saw it in the theater and it was a fun movie. I'll watch it again
ye i know its sad that they cut out "something" from the film, but srsly i really enjoyed this film. one of my favorites.

Chubbs, I did & they are excellent.
We never change was the first coldplay guitar song ive learned

How do you not ask him his favorite Beatles song
@Gemma I can, but they are like a revolving door, changing all the time. Currently, Get Back. This song always brings to mind the rooftop concert.
