- Today we're going to make a hand style tutorial about variant structures in graffiti! Variant structures are alternate ways to write a letter that remain under a certain style threshold. Variant structures allow you to add a lot of range to your graffiti, giving you more access to easily flow, or to alter any other fundamental of your choosing. These really help with being able to add style to your graffiti, though, keep in mind, style is still 100% possible with basic structures.

Man this vid is so helpful, I’ve been doing graff for a few years now and just now taking it more seriously as I put the drugs down and actually want this to be a solid hobby and art form for myself but this has got to be the most informative thing I’ve watched. And I never even bothered to look for help with my art before I’d just keep on painting

@@Theartistblock Thanks !! Pdf or epub sounds perfect to me. As long as i can read it on my phone, on my computer with the apps/software i choose, it's ok. The only problem i want to avoid are these shity DRM protections. The last ebook i bought was in a special pdf format i could only read on computer trought a specific adobe software. If i knew it would so be unusable and restricted i wouldnt have bought it. Because i paid for it and i still had to "hack"/remove that DRM to be able to read it the way i wanted.

@@taliesinangling3564 lol it really would. we're still working on those, but I might have to go through a publisher to get those done, but we'll have to see. publishers are really an absolute last option, much rather self publish.
I'm trying to do graffiti in Persian.is there any way i can make some var structures?
So to be clear, no one ever makes up variant structures, they can only be discovered. See all variant structures for all languages are predetermined and written in stone. The reason is because all a variant structure is, is an alternate way that something is written using the basic strokes, while remaining under base structures style threshold. Now I don't know the persian language, but I'm sure there exists a few variant structures out there. You can discover them for any language by going through that language's letters, and seeing if there's any other way to write the character using the basic strokes. then take that, and place each and every existing character beside it to see if it flows universally. If it does, then boom, you've got a variant structure.

My big question is how do you know all of the variant structures?
Similar to math, once you know the formula, you can do any equation, same thing here. It helps that we already have many of these made obvious to us such as the one story A vs a two story A so we know just based on that alone that alternate structures exist. Just knowing that, all anyone would have to do is apply graffiti's fundamentals to all other letters to discover more variants.

my new book is the only place to learn and see all variant structures, and my book is the only place that teaches how they function.

@@noahhinson5693 I wouldn't say they're just known but they are very very common. What makes them written in stone is there is certain parameters they function within, theirs certain things a letter needs to be a variant and certain things that can prevent it from being one. If we learn these parameters then we can descover and learn each variant.

@@noahhinson5693 I mean once you learn the basics you can do whatever you'd like to the letter and still make it look cool. On the other hand, if you don't know the basics, you can still do whatever you want to a letter so long as you're OK with it having some flaws.
is your book the only way to see all the variant structures?
Yup, it's also the only place to learn what constitutes a variant structure, and what doesn't, how flow functions and much much more.

#3 this channel isn't about my work, it's about helping people learn so while I do break down my own work and show my work, it's not the focus as it's more useful to learn from many examples rather than one person's work

Man, why don’t you upload a real TUTORIAL, and draw something. It’s easier to learn when you’re explaining each decision you make WHILE you’re drawing. The same recycled pictures and verbal tips every video is making hard to keep watching with everything else that’s out there. The way YOU explain shit makes sense but if you could add that to some footage of your work it would probably go a long way.
Thankyou dude this is some really useful feedback. I'll certainly will keep this in mind next tutorial. Till then I'll see if I can fix my recording issues to allow me to pull this off. (Set up and software issues)
