"Do the hard work even when you dont feel like doing it" Worth its weight in gold. Connects back to stoicism, doing our duties regardless of our state of mind/emotions. Thanks for reiterating this Matt!
Excellent video Matt, appreciate these videos, please keep uploading! Some video ideas: 1. How you decided your early career & How you decided each career pivot 2. Your goals and plans for the future 3. Your view on the future of work (culture, industries and skills) 4. Your passions outside of work and how you make time for them whilst working 5. What you would do differently if you restarted your early career journey?
Amazing tips on the irrational/conviction side of the interview where people barely talked about. It is hard to construct and communicate those high level thoughts to people but you did it very well. Keep on the good work!!!
I come from a tech background, MSc in Machine Learning and Big Data + Software engineer. I am watching these because I want to do an industrial PhD in AI applied to banking, and I will probably need to go through several interviewing processes. Also your experience facing consulting issues is quite insightful as someone who is (tangentially) into these sort of things out of pure curiosity and enjoyment of the matter. Keep it up ! Seriously .
Me and my brother came up with the phrase "The convictions we hold in our heart are what manifest as our reality". And so in this context; the one who gets the job is the one that is able to access the most conviction in their heart, is on the same wavelength as the interviewer, and transfers the most conviction through the *way* they say their stuff and how they make the interviewer feel. The one who transfers the most conviction is the one who gets the job! And a little tail end modification to the last statement I like is "Do the hard work even when you don't feel like it, *especially when you don't feel like it!*" I know how fantastic I will feel after, if nothing else by the sense of self-integrity :)
Hey Matt thank you for giving us all these interview tips. I watched a couples of your interview tips videos and landed a corporate banking job in a company I really like. Keep up the good work!
A new Matt Huang video pops up, and I watch it, regardless of whether I need the knowledge in the short term. Why? Because I get practical knowledge that'll be useful by and by. Thanks for this new piece, Matt.
Like the Pareto Principle, but that twenty percent gets much smaller when it comes to data mining UA-cam; thanks for the outstanding video, Matt Huang.
I'm finding your insights super helpful, thank you for making these videos! It would be awesome to see a video in the future diving into how to set goals effectively, I think you'd have some great ideas for that topic.
I’ve been watching your videos for a while, truly amazing content but you should work on your thumbnails, for your case try looking at something classical like paintings 👍
Do I have your career progression correct? IB -> BCG -> strategy “associate”? That seems like a step down in terms of seniority and pay scale. Are you able to give a little more insight into these positions in terms of compensation and responsibility/hours on the clock? I assume the equity you received in tech possibly brings the tc package level but the title is odd to me. Thanks.

Couldn't agree more Anurag! Hope all is well at Oxford!
Excellent video. Enough Repetition & Practice can make anybody a good actor, and can create an aura of finesse.
Great video. This is not a cheat sheet but but about being true to yourself.
Couldn’t agree more

Great video Matt.
Thanks Steven! Appreciate the comment.
Great advice, wish you would have provided an example though.
Love your content…do you have any videos on case presentation interviews?
I have lots of case interview walkthroughs, but let me know if you mean something else!
@@matthuang21 sorry, i meant a presentation type case. Typically the round 2 type where you get a packet and a few hours
Ayo, why you got so real at the end XD
Haha I had to, thanks for watching!

The people who complain about being compared to a product are the same people who never get picked for the job.
