You cannot argue with Dookie, I love Insomniac but Nimrod (1997) placed my soul on a particular Orbit that I specifically travelled from the UK to the studio where it was recorded, Cornway Studio in LA and I took a picture of me outside the studio. When Green Day was touring Nimrod in 1998 they played in my home town Sao Paulo I still remember Tre Cool always wearing a Nimrod T shirt. One of the best times of my life. By the way there is a documentary on UA-cam about Nimrod with the band in the studio mixing the album.
Arrrrggghh, I do love that part in their shows. I always wanted that to be me!!! Too old and balding now. Plus they appear to prefer a singer nowadays rather than a guitarist. Congratulations on what I’m sure would have been a truly unforgettable moment in your life.
@@ric7650 hey man it’s not everyone’s liking but for me, for a first record/compilation? it’s really good, Don’t leave me, only of you, green day, 16 (their all time peak song) ?? how can you not appreciate the foundation
86 was about how dookie made them “sell outs” in their punk community. That song wouldnt have existed on the first record regardless of what it was called
Insomniac will always be my fave Green Day album.
Insomniac is riff city. No guitar solos just straight, relentless riffs. Great album to learn power chord strumming to.

Insomniac always
I played with the band during this era. Only half a song. But still

Had their master tape of their new album not been stolen, we might never have gotten American Idiot
Green Day died for me once American Idiot came out. I felt like I was the only guy who didn’t care about that album in high school.
american idiot isn’t a terrible album but 39/smooth, nimrod and insomniac has to be their best work before and after dookie and before american idiot
39 smooth?? Cmon

I wonder if Green Day would have blown up in the same way if they put out “Insomniac” first
Probably not
Difficult to say because without Dookie, there wouldn’t be Insomniac! 🤔

That's a good question
Stupid title.theres no rising before.they were already big in 94,you re too young to know.
The only thing that aged badly was this documentary lol, such bad takes throughout.
