It has been revealed that Cortez is a hired political actor playing the part of a congresswoman of New York's 14th district and was elected thanks to a casting call put out there by the democrats. Back in 2016 Alexandra Rojas executive director of justice democrats put out a call for nominations and they received over 10,000 by 2017 and out of those 10,000 Cortez was chosen by Alexandra Rojas Executive Director of Justice Democrats because they think that she is going to be their new superstar, they think she has star power and that she is the most famous person in congress right now, they even brag about it and think their casting was perfect" which is insane! Coretz's brother Gabriel mailed in her application,” My brother told me that he had sent my nomination in the summer, but I was, like, literally working out of a restaurant, like there's no way" she replied. The problem with the liberal descent on the court is its based on feelings, which are subject to change; and boy howdy do liberal feelings change when their own guy is in the office. The Supreme court said EXACTLY what the Constitution says and anyone who found this ruling out of the ordinary is CLEARLY intellectually dishonest at best, emotionally compromised at worst. If "lawfare" were not a real thing, we wouldn't need these provisions in the Constitution.

  • @paulsnow

No, Chevron was not a good ruling providing predictability. There is uncertainty in the present as the infrastructure of regulatory capture formally in place gets unwound. But in the long term, regulators must answer to congress, and must be subjected to the authority of the courts.
Not all regulators have done a bad job. But the EPA, SEC, FINcen, CDC, FDA, and other agencies have been capricious and arbitrary in regulations and actions that should fall under review by the courts and oversight from congress.

I don't get why this is a bad decision. Presidential immunity was already the case. All the court did was clarify that immunity applies to the President's official acts inside the scope of his executive authority. Official acts outside the scope and unoffical acts are not immune. They returned the case to the district court to determine which of Trump's acts are not immune. To me, that sounds like the way it should be. Am I missing something?
If presidential immunity were so greatly expanded and the President is no longer subject to the rule of law, as Biden said in his remarks, then he should just declare himself King and Hunter crown prince. Why bother going through the motions of any more elections? He has the military to ensure nobody disagrees. King Joseph.

Not sure why people are surprised.
Why won't people see that the very office of the president was a horrible, no good idea. From the beginning, their has been an appetite for a king among many Americans. We've been building up executive power in various ways for decades & decades. Might as well make the toxic thing official.
The worst thing about having a president though, is having so much power, so much importance & vital significance, in the hands of a single person, someone who might be terrible, but even if "good" is a dangerous bottleneck.
Here's a suggestion. Amend the Constitution in a major way. Have each office of the cabinet, as well as the Attorney General, independently elected. Many states have already moved away from at least a governor appointed AG. Those individuals will have authority over their respective cabinet domains. We massively downgrade the president to be a far less powerful or significant head of state, a representative, a communicating talking head. Perhaps the only actual political roles the president should have are to be a policy unifier for their cabinet, to convey important decisions to the American people & the world, & to be the decision maker when the cabinet is divided.
The role of commander-in-chief could also be a separate elected position, with current military rank being disqualifying (to prevent someone popular with the military staging a coup). That commander-in-chief would manage the day to day & immediately actionable military actions, but be ultimately accountable to the people. Ideally, an adequately informed populace (not Congress or any elected officials) would have the ultimate broad level military decision making power through referenda.
It's ridiculous to have something we *call* a democracy, but still indulge our animal instinct to want a single biggest, strongest, most important ape calling most of the shots.
The office of the president has always been a ticking time bomb. & lest we forget, every single president since (at least) FDR has been a war criminal.

Bad idea. We need a single cohesive strategy and in times of crisis we don't have time for committee meetings. Just reign in the executive power abdicated by the legislature over the last twenty years.
Seriously, you want to hold elections about troop movements? Get out of here.

    • @MarcVL1234
      @MarcVL1234 9 днів тому

@@sn5806 Not about troop movements, but broad, overall military policy, yes, absolutely.
Protecting individual liberties, freedoms, & whatever semblance we still have of democratic principles, is worth dismantling the presidency.
Keeping the *broad* use of the military in the hands of an adequately informed population would have the effect of reducing excessive warfare throughout the world, & it would necessitate reforming national security so that it can't be used to hide almost anything from the American public. Only things like our military technology, our tactics & strategies, maybe our training methods, & our troop movements & operations (where otherwise they'd be in danger) should be within the realm of national security.
Anything else, esp stuff that only makes the US look bad, stuff a majority of Americans would not approve of, should not be kept secret. The commander-in-chief & the leading generals should be in charge of on-site military operations, tactics, etc. The decisions on location, the specific actions.
Whether our military gets involved in a conflict, or is deployed to other countries for anything else than staffing military bases & such, that should be something the American public has to approve.
When something happens that requires an immediate military response, that's something an elected commander-in-chief can do. Anything prolonged, any broad military policy (as opposed to tactics or operations), these should be approved by a majority of Americans.
If the commander-in-chief, which would be a far narrower role than president, uses the military in a way that's condemned by a majority of Americans, there should be a straightforward & easier process for (fairly) quickly removing & replacing them.
I understand your concerns, but I do think you strawmanned what I said a bit. & those same concerns would have led to a very different Constitution. A nation willing to compromise & erode its values, out of fear of loss of military strength or dominance, is going to lose all its original values over time.
The US would be more of a military titan if we were a military dictatorship. No pesky Congress or public approval to worry about, so much easier. Should we do that? At that point, what would be worth defending?

I watched every minute of the Jan.6 hearings and heard from some of his closest advisors on just how he behaved. His own people saying he purposely lied about election fraud. His own people saying he planned it from as early as July. His own people saying he wanted the military to confiscate voting machines. I watched his rambling, incoherent speeches. Seen how he increased the deficit more Ethan any other president in history. Seen him lie, time after time. Heard what he’s said about people in the military being suckers. Heard his disgusting behavior with women.
