  • Hello Everyone!
Today I show you how to make a wood chipper. I used angle grinder to power this wood chipper. This wood chipper mechanism is made with the circular saw blades. Totally I used eleven circular saw blades to make this wood chipper. This wood chipper shreds the wood very fastley. This homemade wood chipper really works good. I hope you will enjoy this angle grinder hack.

You are the first person I've seen on youtube who actually uses his cutting tools without a significant drop in rpm while working them. I always wonder why people overload their grinders and drills so they significantly drop in rpm. The cut is so much cleaner when you let it go through under mostly its own weight. Much praise!

    Suggestion for MK2.
Add a tapered washer between each blade. Offset the blades So that the blades each touch at opposing 180 degree points on the circumference.
This way the material will get fully shredded without having to present at an angle, and wont have to be kept moving about on feed.

I would suggest he adds a sieve on the machine in order to calibrate the woodchips. This is useful for someone willing to make wood pellets business. It seems cost effective for high output.

Actually that looks like a VERY fine device. It might lack a bit of security, but by wielding a 45° protection on the front, that would cover the saw blades from the top of the tank to the bottom of the axis (basically, all the parts you're NOT using when chipping), that device would already be safer (at least more than some industrial ones).
Best security being a mobile protection that would stop power the very moment some force is pushing it.
    NICE JOB

Very nice build. Super scary. All the better for being scary. Love it! I think a beating in the outboard plate might have been a better solution than just the washer fitting in the hole, but that’s just me. I am also thinking some 10” saw blades I have laying around and the 7 hp motor from an old lawn mower would be a lot of fun. Great builds. Subscribing for sure now!

Nice work. This type of gadget would be very useful for composting - You can feed it food scraps, leaves, etc. I can see it was tricky to keep the wood pushing against the blades, but you could resolve that by adding some type of feeder (mouth) that uses rubber or plastic to push the wood against the blades (instead of having to manually redirect it). I would also try to incorporate bolts into the blade housing so you can more easily change the blades when they get dull. You don't want to have to partly destroy and rebuild it to maintain it. Great start, though!

  • @Accumulator1
    @Accumulator1 3 роки тому +6

That is a neat build. But it's a very slow feed to ground it up to practically saw dust, if that is what you want.
I would like to build one similar, but a different type of cutter that makes coarse chips. Maybe a small sprocket that is threaded to arbor onto the grinder shaft, a #35 size chain to a large sprocket on the cutter shaft.
This would slow the rpm but increase the torque to cut large chips and feed the wood faster.

NICE !! Please make another video with entire tool turned on its side so switch of angle grinder is on top with a chute added for gravity feed.(like you said) But most importantly add a table elevating the material up from where it sits now or incorporate it into the shute. I'd say probably 1/4 of the way up would still pull material in & down with out possibility of a jam. Now the most difficult part will be how you decrease the cutting area. I suppose you could just have this part of the chute be out of a decent gauge steel and just slot the end so the cutting tips of the blades are actually passing through it so there's a surface for the material to be cut/chipped against. I think ideally though I'd attempt to run it fully through with just a slot cut for each individual blade. I think the width of the slots, the amount of space on either side of the blades will be important to its success and whether it works or not.
I hope to hear more on how you made out and from others experiences or just opinions because I'm planning to make something like this myself soon but probably more for shredding/chipping plastic bottles, well basically all trash that's not food or glass. So I guess basically recyclables minus the glass. But I'm also interested in making something similar but larger for leaves, sticks anything in the yard to accelerate its decaying process into some super compost/growing dirt.

It would be good to see a feeding system for this so you don’t have to hold it/ protects you from kickback. I guess you can’t ramp up the torque and slow it down as those blades don’t work like that. Creates really fine dust rather than chips. Thanks for sharing! Как я понял, этот космический аппарат для производства опилок из бамбука. Теперь пора делать атомный реактор для производства ДСП. Пойду покажу Доктору Дью!!! 😁

It seems to me that the cutters might grab the work and pull it in. I think the work entry level should be raised to just below the centre height of the cutters. That way the cutters shouldn't grab a tough piece of wood and pull it underneath themselves. With a raised work table only the chips will go under the cutters an be thrown out the back

You made a sawdust maker. Cheaper going to a saw mill and sweep the floors. Might even get paid doing it.🤔

Меня прикололо как он посадил подшипники на болты, а потом это место закрыл листом на сварку. Даже если он предполагает, что конструкция неразборная, он теперь не сможет даже эти болты подтянуть, если ослабнет.

This is a really good idea. I would like to make something similar to this to shred plastic.
