@John Little, I saw him, for the first time, last year at the fabulous Orpheum Theater in Memphis. He was so damn good. 80 or 81, whatever he was, and his voice was so strong that night. I sure hope I get one more chance.
I was there for this, with my (then) girlfriend Wendy - silence first from the crowd on the intro, then you can hear a few cheers as some cotton on to which song they're starting, then full cheers when he starts singing and everyone realised what a rare treat they were in for! It was a great gig, top-notch performances from everyone. I managed to get a bootleg of the gig (a fair recording, but not quite Crystal Cat quality) a few months later, which has my ticket tucked into the cover, but it's wonderful to actually see a bit of the show here!
@@woolhall My favourite of the night was the beautiful arrangment he played of Girl From The North Country. I had a friend (an ex-girlfriend) who had terminal cancer, and it reminded me of her. She'd had chemo and radiotherapy the first time it had appeared, but when it returned and she was told it was terminal she'd decided to forego that as she said 'she wanted to die with her hair on,' which was dark, and did indeed hang long. She died on the 16th of December, 2003, five days before what would've been her fortieth birthday, and I still have a little cry whenever I hear that arrangement of the song.
Carling Apollo Hammersmith , in line from 4pm the doors at 6? still got complete ticket as the theatre staff could not check everyone, straight to front. Next night Carling Academy Brixton had to give up stub this time. Thanks for posting nice memory.
Golly gosh your channel has a sense of realism and time with words mixed and matched but at the end it all makes sense :)✨☕ and thus one just takes you away ta Bob is so in tune and emphatic 🌻
I dont mean to be so offtopic but does any of you know of a way to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly lost the account password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me.
@Cristiano Kelvin Thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
'Click here without delay' Romance in Durango; a brilliant end to a singular period in Dylan’s work By Tony Attwood "And so what I guess is Dylan’s longest and most fruitful period of collaboration with another writer (or have I been focussed on this period for so long I’ve forgotten something - tell me if so) comes to an end with Romance in Durango. Along with Black Diamond Bay, which it is linked to on the album, it represents the high point of the work with Jacques Levy - and there is no doubt that we are all the richer for it." bob-dylan.org.uk/
What a Horlicks job on one of his greatest songs. Did the guitarist get paid for showing up ? An actual travesty. Sad ! listen to the original off Desire, you'll feel better.
Amazing. One of my favourite latter era Dylan performances. Such a spirited vocal, such a perfect song.

Excellent as always.
He is the bond between Beat poetry and the Beatles' music & socially involved songs. Then came Baez, then Cohen and then Janis... more or less
Não chore não querida...♡
Don’t you wonder what inspires Bob to play the occasional obscurity? An old pal or flame?
My dear friend, thats easy to explain, do you now Durango?
@@jorgeguzman8906 I’ve yet to have the pleasure. Enlighten us!

Bobby forever rulez 🤗
Is he reading the lyrics from that book in front of the piano.. ?
Very possible, as it was around 26 years since he last sang this song
@@woolhall Cool observation! That book must be GOLD
@@woolhall I guess that the last few seconds got chopped off SOMEHOW during the upload. .
I can see it on two other uploads.

Isso é a rais quadrada,cubica, de tudo, que a rais exige e existe ...
I almost prefer this Dylan sing this song than the Rolling Thunder one...
You cannot distort the voice of God, but you can hide the expression on your face when you say it. JaroHalo
You’d think Bob could’ve come up with a smoother ending.
Really?

The studio cut is much better. The band here is miked too high and Bob can barely be heard.
