I want to see more shymalan daughter,i don't mind sequel but i think it will be weird lol. What story will they tell if there is a sequel..@@tristramshandy4063
I was hoping the twist in this movie was gonna be that the daughter was actually the killer and this loving protective dad was just covering up her mess or that yes he is an actual serial killer but turns out he's not the killer they're looking for. There's another killer in the building and that's the one they're looking for so now he's done all this stuff to avoid authorities for nothing.
Im so glad you said this because i literally had this exact conversation with my partner after the movie. I was really convinced it would be one of these two options.
2:29 I love their dynamic and how they are such a goals balance for a relationship I absolutely adore them and admire their marriage. They are so uplifting to their channel and to one another.🤗❤️🤗
14:49 It's funny you say that Sergio, considering there was a Macklemore concert, don't remember which country, where he brought a woman on stage who was wanted by the government and was arrested the next day.
I saw this movie last weekend and for most of the film I was like "this is dumb but fun" but then after the concert it felt like the movie didn't know how to end so it just kept going and going
Soundtrack was 🔥 Literally yelled at my TV the last 10 minutes. Like why are you letting him do all these things at the end that he shouldn’t be allowed to do? 🤦🏽♀️ Missed out on the Josh Hartnett craze growing up but I’m definitely invested now 🥵 He was awesome playing completely unhinged 🙌🏼 Loved the cat & mouse vibes & seeing him unravel. I didn’t know that M Night’s daughter was Lady Raven. She did great too! I know this movie has mixed reactions but I actually had a good time with it & loved the premise even if there were a few things that were meh. Glad my boy Jamie made it out alive 🙌🏼 Fun reaction as always y’all! 🖤
Honestly I had a blast with this movie definitely some issues but I had a great time but as per usual it’s an M Night movie so it’s a love or hate movie. I was on the love train and I didn’t mind that this movie didn’t have such a big twist it felt fresh to have something simple that it was the wife who snitched.
Gonna be honest; I took an edible right before I watched this movie and it started kicking in near the end of the concert, and that made the last bit of this movie super enjoyable. I just kept thinking “Oh, it’s over. There’s no way he makes it out of this” and then cackling whenever he did, in fact, make it out 😆
Sergio, if you want more shirtless Josh Hartnet, I might suggest you watch Penny Dreadful. He is smouldering in that show. And how you react to Josh is how I react to Rhea Ripley. Including having my own Cody in my fiance who always *silently* judges me 😂
Im glad you guys at least found it entertaining. I think this movie is hilarious, and Josh Hartnett is amazing. You should definitely watch Penny Dreadful Sergio, no spoilers, but it is the Josh Hartnett you have been waiting for, i think. That or Lucky Number Slevin, he is great on that, too. He has been in guest star spots on shows lately, Black Mirror and The Bear, but i really hope he shows up in more. He needs some more work, criminally undercast.
I still don't understand why he couldn't just... leave after the concert? What did they have that they were screening every guy leaving for? He came face to face/talked to/walked by countless of the people watching the doors. They weren't swabbing for DNA like it was a traffic stop. Ostensibly, they're going to be there for hours imprisoning a bunch of fans once the concert is over. Just leave with the increasingly irate crowd of other dudes. I kept waiting for a twist to explain why he was just wandering around incriminating himself. Like, "Hey, we failed to catch the butcher. But look how this one guy kept leaving his seat and pretended to be an employee and stole an earpiece and was at the scene of two "accidents" and stood stationary at the fire alarm and did all these other wildly suspicious things caught on the countless cameras being closely monitored in the control room we'll for sure be reviewing in detail if we don't catch him today." I kept waiting for the twist that explained why he was on a ticking clock. Like, is something dangerous going to happen if he leaves the guy he's got tied up in the basement alone too long? Will something bad happen if he gets free? Does he need all of this to go smoothly because his daughter is supernatural and powerful and capable of slaughtering a stadium of people if upset? He's got a sheep tattoo and matching app on his phone. Is he part of a group of people tasked with caring for these dangerous children? Hence that other mom threatening him with her dark side and the focus on the falling out with her friends, one of whom the mother calls a "beast" and... Nope the movie is ending. The twist was just that it was dumb. Ok. Kinda wish I'd spoilered myself for this movie so I could have gone in knowing that. Might have had fun with it if I treated it like I did Old. Though, the movie still ground to a halt when they left the concert and Taylor Swift became our flawless, selfless, brave heroine. If I had gone into the movie knowing she was M Night's daughter, that would have been more insufferable than it already was. This whole thing really was just one long promo for her music, huh?
I'm with Cody on this one, it was fun schlocky UNTIL he managed to escape the limo, there's just NO way 😂 there's a limit to me suspending my disbelief
Loved this movie! Sergio is right about Josh. He was one of my first celebrity crushes and one of my first celebrity encounters. We used to shop at the same grocery store😂
Loved this movie!! Saw it 3 times the first week it dropped! Like a 90’s thriller told from the villians pov! Cooper was a great character study by the end!😂
Was this a materpiece? No. Was it fun? Definitely. Every single person lacks observation skills, considering how many cops there are there too. Took a turn for me when he just said "it me". Would definitely watch a sequel. Josh Hartnett taking his shirt off for no reason 11/10
I will always love the acting on Josh Hartnett’s part but this movie really just fell flat and was underwhelming. It felt like M Night Shyamalan made this movie so his daughter could be featured as a singer.
I disagree. Her character contributed a lot to the plot. Smart and resourceful, she played a great role in bringing him down. Acting wise? Well, Salika's a first timer. Be fair.
Edit: I love that this movie was a family affair, with M Night's older daughter playing Lady Raven in his movie, just like his younger daughter directed The Watchers, which he produced
Atleast it was fun predicting what is going to be the twist. 😂 i mean its not actually a bad movie, its just not that good. And not mid even, its just a movie that exist and im ok with it 😂
Watched this last night and it's so funny how we had the same reaction to Josh Hartnett just taking his shirt off! 😅 I'm no huge M. Night fan, but this one was ok. I agree that it would have been better had the movie took place in the concert the whole time. I felt the trap in Trap wasn't trap-y enough. Someone should have called The Collector to set a trap! 😉
You are not the first reviewers I've heard suggest that the twist should have been that the daughter was the serial killer. I agree. That would have been sick (in a good way). Like, her dad knows but he loves her so he's doing all of these things to try to keep her from getting caught. I kept waiting for the big plot twist that's in every Shyamalan movie, and I was disappointed that it was just that the wife ratted him out. In a year with two Shyamalan movies (this and The Watchers), I still think that Cuckoo is the most "Shyamalan-esque" movie of the year.
I definitely agree that this movie was just ok. Obviously Josh Hartnett was great and I loved that Hayley Mills was in it! I finally started watching Penny Dreadful a couple of weeks ago and I highly recommend it! The acting(not just Josh but the whole cast), the writing, the costumes, cinematography, just everything is amazing!
When this was announced as a film I thought maybe the twist would be that Josh Hartnett would be hunting a serial killer that had killed another daughter and the tension would come from him trying to get to the killer before the police so he can have his revenge. The actual film seems kind of straight forward for a Shymalan movie 😂
Why did the wife not just go to straight the cops, why the elaborate clue at the crime scene? Just so her daughter could go to the concert? I think it would have played better if it wasn't completely obvious and shown that he was the butcher. If he was able to play it like a regular dad who seems nervous because there's a serial killer loose at the concert then play it out and big reveal at the end, would have added a little more to the suspense. Still, I'll watch anything with Josh in it. My crush is long lived and deep. I recommend , nay, i demand reactions to 30 Days of Night and Penny Dreadful. Both Excellent.
Harnett was fantastic in this but I found movie average at best. I just rewatched Lucky Number Slevin right after it to remind myself how amazing Harnett can be with a good script.
He was so so good. You can tell this is just a bit of fun and some change for him but he does evil so well. Something about him really gives me the creeps 😅
If I was M. Night, I would've divided this movie into 3 parts. The 1st part showing him interacting with his family, and the guy locked in the basement. 2nd part going to the concert and realizing it a trap. 3rd part is the storyline dealing with his mom issues and realizing his wife set him up. The ending should've been left on a cliffhanger with us not knowing if he kills himself or escapes through the tunnel.
I really enjoyed this because it doesn’t take itself too seriously but also, this is what a serial killer looks like. They’re not like Michael Myers or Jason Voorhees, running around killing people in full view of everybody. They have day jobs and families and they wear human suits most of the time. They’re able to blend in with everyone else and they certainly wouldn’t want to break cover by committing butchery in front of others. I did find myself wanting to know more about his mother and his childhood though. They only hinted at it but it was obviously traumatic. I hope there is more to come as I have so many unanswered questions.
I know this movie may have some problems but gosh it is just so fun, especially for the gay. How much of a heartthrob Josh Hartnett, Kid Cudi flirting with him and Lady Raven being so so messy.
as soon as they left the concert it turned into hot garbage. And I can't believe M.Nights hubris in casting his own daughter and making her this woman who saves the day by outsmarting a intelligent/genius serial killer. The fact The Butcher didn't just kill Raven when she was in the limo, get out, and vanish. Is ridiculous. I was screaming about all the complete shit that was happening. It was very silly. Also. Like. The police emptied their clips into the window of the limo. Hopefully killing the butcher. But when it comes to the end they have now decided to just tase him. like... stop. It was all so inconsistent. Josh Hartnett can only carry this movie so much. And he did, to the point where Lady Raven became more of a bigger part.
Still preferred it to The Village despite the silliness however your reaction gave me a good laugh was waiting for the shirtless scene as I knew you would appreciate it.

I would have loved it if Jamie was agent trying to bait him out and Hartnetts character was too full of hubris to believe that he was being had until too late. Also if Helen Mirren or Meryl Streep was his wife and we got to see his mommy issues made manifest. It would be cool if she played the fool when the singer came over but was in on it as an outlet for her husband.
This movie is off the fucking rails balls crazy lmfao I swear it’s one of those that makes you question whether certain things are intentional. Good lord lmfao
M. Night should give us a trilogy of serial killer Josh Hartnett escaping the authorities but it gets progressively more unhinged
I have a need for this.

this movie is just Josh Harnett trying to escape a Taylor Swift concert

She feels more like an Ariana Grande, Doja Cat, Jade sorta vibe.
The way that I just "like" your video before I even watch! This movie was lucky to get Josh Hartnett. He made the whole thing a fun ride.
